Chapter 4 - Purple Hearts
I had this crazy dream, I dreamt I was in a mental hospital, very colorful setting.I was in a night gown as I was surrounded by other patients.I remember one person "saying you ready Ray ?" As I replied "yea …" he started to play "Crazy Little Thing Called Love " by Queen.I started clapping and dancing around to the song as the patients watch as they clapped as well.So I danced around to song until the very end, it was a beautiful omen.I woke as I dragged away by the workers as I fidgeted with my feet as I still danced as they carried me away into a dark hallway, I awoke after that.It was about seven in the morning as I went to drawer and took another purple pill.I broke it down as I sniffed it aggressively, I got my routine down.I got my hands on smelling salts as I made my own formula, I got the purple pill and crushed em down to powder, I mixed it wit rubbing alcohol and the smelling salts and have been going nuts ever since.I really recommend you don't do this, there is no high but the sudden rush of being on alert and the paranoia kicks in.I rarely take this special mix that I call "a Tyson Pepper " it's got a kick like Mike Tyson and a gets you sweating your ass off if you don't tolerate it right.
I looked myself in the mirror as I smacked myself with cold water.I get back in my room as I changed into my new attire.My Stacy Addams shoes, white striped trousers and a white long sleeve button up shirt.I put on my pinky ring and my watch as I put on cologne and deodorant.I got to walking outside as Dads not home it seems.He's usually in the living room but I guess not, I stepped outside.It's Amelia's birthday, I walked to her house with a Yoo-hoo in my hand and a box of chocolates in my other.I started as I was walking a path with a group of guys just messing around.I walk past as one says
"Ray you looking sharp, going to court ?" He asked jokingly as they laughed.
"Na just going to see someone …" I say calmly as I have a little smile.
"Tell him we said hi sweetie …." Said one of the men jokingly as they all laughed.I ignored for now but i continued walking as I've arrived.I knocked on her door as she opened it, wearing a bathrobe and slippers.
"Come on in …" she says as I enter to see her apartment is spotless, it's unusual since she usually has it in a mess.She's still got that bunny I got for her In her living room.I sit down on the couch as I see she's going to her room.She gives a flirty look as I glance at her walking in.I see she had a jar filled with chocolate in her living room table, I quickly open it and get a handful.I eat one by one in a fast pace as she enters back in the room.She looked at me shocked and says
"Are you eating those chocolates ?" I continued eating as I Replied
"Yea why ?" She was distraught as she said "those my pills I take to sleep, how many have you had ? You gotta stop eating them !" She yelled as I worryingly put the chocolate box down and ran to the restroom.I walked past her as I ran in and made myself vomit, I put my fingers down my throat as Amelia rushed to get her Polaroid camera.She ran towards the bathroom and snapped a picture as I threw up.I felt confused as I Was about to make myself throw up again until she said
"Hold on, Christ sakes hold on, haha …" she said laughingly as I laid against the bathtub, confused.
"I was fucking with man, it's just regular chocolates….hehe …." She walked away laughing her ass off as she waited for the film to unfold.
"That's why I love ya …" I whispered to myself as I got up and flushed the toilet, now I've killed my own high.I washed my hands and headed back into the living room as she looks at the Polaroid film and laughs even harder.
"God look how stupid you look …haha !" She exclaimed as she turned the film to me and I looked at myself, I did look stupid.I laughed as well as she put it away inside her bathrobe, in her bra.She started looking through the chocolate box and said
"Thank you, so what are we gonna do today huh ?" She asked as I said
"Whatever you want, it's your birthday …." She thought about it as she ate the chocolates I got her and said
"Let's go ride around town !" She got up quickly as she got dressed.She wore a white dress and black boots, wearing red chapstick and eyeliner.I forget to mention the little surprise I had waiting at home as we entered her car.
"Can you drop me off at home real quick, I forgot something, I'll go fast ?" I asked as she said "alright …" We drove by those guys again, still doing nothing as she parked in front of my house. I got out and said "I'll be quick …" I quickly walked in as I went into my room to get this little gift bag.It's a gift I've saved up to get for a while, a costly satisfaction.I got two more pills in me as I walked back out as I still see dad ain't around.I get outside to see some guy talking with Amelia.I walked quicker as I asked
"Hey what's up, you lost pal ?" I asked as he looked back at me ignoring me.He kept trying to talk to her as she looked annoyed.I put the bag in the backseat as I walked up to the guy, I knew this guy, not very well but I know of him.
"Hey I said are you lost ?" I asked again as he shrugged me off and just walked away.
"See ya around Ray and have a good day sweetheart … " he said as he walked back the path to where the group of guys were.I just stared him down as I got in the car, I looked back at Amelia who looked into the distance.
"What he say ? You alright ?" I asked as she looked as if she was on the verge of tears.I gave it a second as I let the pills kick in as I got the Yoo-hoo she left in the cup holder and said
"I'll be back …" I got out and followed the guy, she watched me.
"Wait !" She yells as I ignored it and walked up to the group.I saw the man again as they noticed I'm approaching aggressively.
"Hey what you rolling up like that ?" Asked one as the stopped me.I shoved the man away as I pointed at the guy who was talking with Amelia
"I just want to talk to him, so y'all better mind your business." I said angrily as some laughed at me and others looked liek they wanted to hear my ass.The guy stepped up and said
"Just go with your girl and Move on ….." he said as I angrily shoved him and said
"You Motherfucker, disrespecting me like this …" two guys pulled me back as others stopped the guy from attacking as they yelled around, some still laughed.
"You're gonna let this little punk bitch you like this ?" Said one of his friends jokingly as they laughed.The two men let me go as the guy looked furious.
"I mean what's the matter with this world
Where a guy like him makes you look stupid ?" He instigated to the guy as we were at a stand still, they still laughed.I was in rage as these pills are making me feel like Batman, all of a sudden the weirdness occurs.They we're still laughing as the guy stared me down until I got a nose bleed out of nowhere.They all looked as one man said "look it's his time of the month …" he said as I stood there confused.I finally felt it as the blood dripped on my shirt, I cleaned it off with my hand as the guy is still furious.
"Just go man, don't let pride get ya killed …" said one of the men as I turned to him and said
"The fuck you say ?" As it got the tension higher.In the moment I threw the Yoo-hoo bottle at his head as it exploded into little pieces and the milk poured all over him and some other guys around him.Now they were all mad as they were about to jump me, I thought quick as the first guy was leaning on attacking me.
"Get this Motherfucker !" One yelled as some were still laughing.I quickly pulled out my switchblade and swung it around as I was still bleeding from my nose.They all were still as I walked away slowly and said
"I'm might take your advice, imma go now …" I said as most of them looked angered.Some we're helping the guy who got hit with the bottle as others were cleaning off the milk.I walked away quickly as I stared down by the guy.I walked away in a different attitude As I'm drenched in Milk, blood and pride.She looked at me worried as I got back in the passenger seat.
"What happened ?" She asked as I simply replied
"Nothing, how about that ride around town huh ?" I asked as she confusingly said
"Alright …" she started driving as we past by the guys still recovering from the little fight.They gave mean looks as we drove by, felt good.We started adventure around the city as it felt like a movie.We drove by Hollywood Boulevard then went through The Sunset Strip.The ride we went from different songs until we left it on
"I Get Around " by The Beach Boys.We looked at the amusement that LA has to offer as it felt nice.We felt that nice cool breeze as the sun was calm today, I still have the gift in the backseat as she's been eyeing it the whole drive.We made it back around to her apartment after a long trip.
"Im starving…." She said as I said
"Well what do you want to eat ?" I asked she thought about it as she continued eating the chocolates.We got up to her living room as we sat down aside each other and turn the tv on.She goes to a channel that's playing Reruns of "Criminal minds " she likes it but I just can't get around to it.
"Maybe some pizza ? " she asked as I said
"Costco pizza ?" I said this jokingly but she was serious about it now.
"Alright I'll order it …" she said as she made a call.I'm being honest I wasn't really hungry but I'll give it a go.She placed an order for a whole pepperoni pizza.
"Alright thank you …" she said as she looked happy.I always forget this, it's her fucking birthday and I forgot a cake.
"I'll be back, 20 minutes tops … okay ?" I said as she said
"Where you going ?" As I said
"Forgot something but I'll be quick … " she shrugged it off and continued watching the tv.I exited as I checked my wallet then heading towards the supermarket down the street.I quickly walked as I passed by on lookers as it's about 7:00 pm.I made it in as I looked through these goofy looking cakes.I walk past a hello kitty cake, a Disney princess cake then I fish yeh one.I found an ice cream cake,
"Found one you like ?" Asked the baker as I said
"Yea this ice cream cake….please …"
He got it and got it placed and ready to write something on it as he asked
"What am i writing on it ?" I thought about and said
"Write, "happy 21st birthday Amelia…." " he started writing it out with red icing.He finished up as he said "forty-two dollars boss …" I hand him two twenties and a ten and say "keep the change …" I hurry off with the cake as the he confusingly replied "thanks …"
I rushed out the store and walked by the on lookers as I got back to her apartment.I walked in as I see her with two boxes of Costco pizza.
"Jesus Christ …" I said worryingly as she said
"Crazy story ….." she said as looks at me bringing in the cake.
"So the guy said "hey I have this other pizza if you'd like it, an order got cancelled….I was surprised and I said sure why not, thank you sir …" she says as she opens a box to look at the pepperoni pizza.I put the cake in the fridge for now as she says
"I say we each eat a box …" I looked at her surprised and say
"Come on No that's too much, let's just share this one and give away the other one …" I say as she gets fussy and says "okay I thought it was my birthday and I could do what I want …. And what I want is we each consume a whole Costco pizza …." She says as I roll my eyes and annoyingly agree.
"Alright fine but I don't know if we can eat the whole pizza-" as she says
"Na of course we can, it'll be easy, come on get your Box and let's eat !" She exclaimed as she took her box towards the living room and put it in the table.I carried mine towards the floor as I ate it there, I quickly went to get drinks as I got a two 2 liters of Soda and got myself a sparkling water.
"Cups ?" I asked as she said "nope, we each get our own …." I realized now she meant were consuming a whole 2 liter soda as well, pure gluttony.We now sit in our own filth, ready to devour this pizza.She put on a streaming service to play "Trick r' Treat ", a good film.
We got to it, the first few slices were easy as She had like 5 slices left and I only had 2.Were half way through the movie as we feel gluttony kick in.I feel nauseated as she feels bloated, it felt awful.At first this was a somewhat funny idea but now this feels like torture.I was breathing heavily as I was about to finish up my second to last slice as she looked at me in disgust.
"You better start eating faster, you can't back out now …." I say jokingly as she groans and says
"Oh, god …..I don't know why I agreed to this …." I laughed as I'm on my last slice, I drink one more sip of my mineral water and get ready to eat it.
"I think Im sweating the grease from the pizza …" she said jokingly as she fought to eat another slice.She eats about half of it as she finally decides
"No forget it, Im saving it for later ….I'll finish it though you fucker -" she yells out laughingly as she got up and out the box back in the kitchen table.I laughed as I said "you really giving up ? " I went for the last slice and ate it quickly and downed it with soda.I finished the up ad I raised my hands in fist as I cheered,
"I did it ! -" I stopped after almost throwing it up.I sat down calmly as she then laid next to me.
"Good job …." I asked
"What's my prize ?" As we looked flirtatiously at each other.She went for it as we started to make out, god her breath was smelling like the very thing I despised now but I enjoyed every minute with her.we started grabbing each other sexually as we laid on the couch together, she was on top of me.I got funny with it and grabbed her and made her fall on the floor with me as I went for a big ole kiss.
"Oh fuck-" I yelled out as we fell and laughed our asses off.I didn't let this sit right again as I nearly vomited again.I got back up calmly as started walking towards the kitchen and said
"Time for desert !" As she laid on the floor in pain.
"Oh no I'm alright …" she said as I got out the cake from the fridge and placed it on top of the pizza box.She begrudgingly got up and walked towards the kitchen as I opened up the cake out of its container.I looked through her kitchen drawer as I found a cake knife.She looked at the cake and said
"It looks great…." I idiotically forget the one thing, the candles.
"Oh fuck I forgot the candles, fuck…" I said as she went into her drawer and got out her own
"It's alright I got some right here…" she placed the 2 and 1 number candles into the cake as I got out my lighter.I lite them up as we waited a moment as she quickly ran to her room.
"Give me a second …. " I waited as she ran back with her Polaroid camera again as she handed it to me.
"Take a picture …" she said as she stood next to her cake, I did.As we waited for the film to form, she got close to her cake as we stared at it.
"So uh, make a wish …" I said as she blew the candles and closed her eyes.I thankfully got another picture of it as she the knife and made a little cut to get a piece out.
"Nice big smile …" I said as I snapped another picture of that.She was so happy and delighted to just being us two.I was going to invite people but she insisted on it just being us.She started to take only a small bite of the cake as she was still full.I quickly went to retrieve the gift bag with her gift In it as She gives it a glance.
"Go ahead, open it…" I said as I got ready to take another picture.She got the little box out of the bag and opened it to see a Blue heart shaped Sapphire Rabbit Ear Bale necklace, cost me about 600$ but it was worth it as I saw that big smile she had as I snapped a picture.
"Ray this is too much, Jesus it's beautiful…" she said as I put the camera down and helped her out it on.
"If you want I'll return it …." I said jokingly as replied
"No don't do that, I love it Ray …"
I got back to the camera and told her
"Alright one more ….give a pose …." I said as she gave a peace sign, I took another picture.
"So you enjoying your birthday ?" I asked as she says
"I'm living every minute …" we stood there for a moment as she asked
"Can you put the cake away, I'm not really gonna eat some, unless you want some ?" I asked as I shakes my head and replied
"No it's alright, I'll put it away right now, you just go lay down …" she went to the living room and laid on the couch as I put the cake back in the container and put it in the fridge.I then walked into the living room and laid next to her.She put her head in my shoulder as we continued to watch the film.
This night was one in a million to be feeling this way.We fell asleep as I got up around five in the morning.She was still asleep as I she slept on the other side of the couch.I got up as I walked outside, ready for a new day.I called Nick and surprisingly, he answered.
"Yea what's up Ray ?" He asked as I said
"How's Sunday looking ?" He took a minute and said
"Well Heat looks good but you never know, anything else you needed ?" I started walking towards my home as I said
"No that's it, have a good day man …" I said as I hanged up as I looked around the neighborhood.
I got home as I see dads still sleeping, I gotta ask him for help later today.It feels embarrassing that I'm eighteen and don't know how to drive yet and Amelia has to drive me around.Hopefully he'll teach me so I can get places faster.
