After Huo Mian finished changing, she refused the offer from another nurse in her department to accompany her and walked up to the VIP area on the top floor alone.
On her way there, the only thing she could think of was that, if the procedure were to fail, she might not even get the chance to see her family again.
At that thought, she pulled out her cell phone and called her mother. It rang for a while, but no one answered. Clearly, her mother didn't want to talk to her.
She sighed and then called her little brother, Jing Zhixin.
"Sis!" Jing Zhixin's youthful voice sounded from the other end.
"Zhixin, are you in class?"
