Chapter 4 | Lishai Volkov

A woman in her early twenties, her body frail and emaciated from years of neglect and abuse. Her long, pink hair is matted and tangled, draped over her shoulders like a veil, obscuring her face from view.

Her vibrant eyes staring blankly at the floor as she lays in the center of the room. Her skin is pale and marred by countless bruises and scars, a testament to the brutal treatment she has endured.

She wears nothing but a cheap, threadbare robe that barely manages to cover her privates. Chains are looped around her neck, wrists, and ankles, anchoring her to the cold, hard floor.

The room itself is dimly lit, the only source of light coming from a single bare bulb hanging from the ceiling, casting ominous shadows across the woman's trembling form. In one corner of the room, a large bed stands empty, its rumpled sheets and tangled blankets hinting at the various acts that have taken place within its confines.

The air is thick with the scent of sweat, blood, and fear, making it almost unbearable to breathe. The woman's body quakes as she tries to maintain her balance on the uneven floor, the heavy chains pulling her down with each shaky step. She knows that resistance is futile, and that escape from this hellish existence is nothing but a distant dream. She is a sex slave, utterly at the mercy of her sadistic master.

That was the view that came to Dayu's mind when he looked at current Lishai. She was a sex slave when he met her in his previous life.

He killed her master in distant future and later came to rescue all the prisoners. Some years later he swore his obedience to Lishai by blood bond that every shadow clan members makes to fulfill his role.

He just wanted to forget all about it because this time it will be all different.

Principal called out to all eigth grader to stand behind Lishai. Lishai was a tenth grader and two years older than Dayu. In his school seniors were given authority over their juniors. This was a good practice as it made the seniors more disciplined and experienced with childrens.

Dayu did as told. He then noticed Carolina standing near him.

'...This mini medusa isn't going to leave me alone I see it now.'

Dayu sighed in exasperation. Ignoring her once again he then focused on Lishai. She was of very cold nature. She was like a taciturn angel. She barely spoke to him in his previous life.

After the welcome ceremony Dayu was assigned a classroom number.

'Room number 45 Building E '

Dayu and his classmates followed Lishai to their class. Entering the Building E he saw a massive building consisting of hundred different classes, each with its own unique architectural style and design. The structure, reminiscent of a large puzzle, is made up of a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, with different materials used for each class.

The foundation of the building is made of large, rough stones, while the upper levels are constructed using bricks, wood, glass, and even metal. The building rises several stories high, with each class having its own distinctive features such as turrets, domes, balconies, or ornate entrances.

The classes are arranged in a random pattern, creating a visually striking and intricate pattern against the backdrop of a lush green landscape. The image captures the essence of unity in diversity, as each class seems to coexist harmoniously despite their contrasting styles and designs.

His class was in between of all classes so it was a long journey to his class. Reaching near his class he suddenly felt excited. Lishai then told everyone to stop. After that she chanted a mantra.

After sometime a small, intricately crafted golden key resting atop her ivory hands, its ornate filigree work sparkling in the soft light that emanates from a nearby crystal chandelier.

The key's handle is adorned with a ruby-encrusted heart, hinting at the magical properties that lie within. The keychain by which it was connected is embroidered with intricate designs of vines and flowers, intertwined with shimmering silver thread.

The grand, old wooden door started to open as soon as the key was completely manifested. Everyone was fascinated except Dayu and a thin girl with long silky black hairs. Dayu wasn't fascinated by this act because it was the easiest magic used in the world i.e. "The summoning magic".

Everyone entered the class and sat on desired desks. Dayu reached the last seat in middle row and sat there. Removing his bag from his shoulder he hung in on side of his desh which contained a hanger.

Some times later a waifish girl with a porcelain-white complexion, her long silky hair flowing down past her tiny waist like a waterfall of black silk. Her large, almond-shaped eyes are a striking shade of emerald green, framed by thick lashes that accentuate their ethereal beauty.

She has an almost elfin features, high cheekbones, a small, heart-shaped nose, and a pair of plump, rosy lips that are currently parted in a serene smile reached near Dayu's desk.

She asked in a friendly tone

"May I sit here Mister."

Dayu nodded wistfully as he was expecting to sit peacefully in last desk.

"Thanks Mister I am Sofia Varah nice to meet you."

'...Another royalty huh.' Glancing at her left chest Dayu saw a black insignia.

'... Isn't it supposed to be brown for royalty. Maybe she is from lower branch of clan or maybe a bastard born out of concubine or aex slave.'

"Oh nice to meet you I am Dayu Mors."

Sofia nodded and sat down without saying any more words. When everyone from class settled down. Lishai spoke

"How are you eigth graders?"

Everyone screamed

"We are fine ma'am. How are you?"

Dayu's eye twitched. '... These brats are so noisy. Wait I am also one of them why do I always forget that they are eigth grader and aren't mature enough.'

"I am fine. As we all know today's most time of school has been spent in principal's speech so we will only do an introduction today.

Dayu rolled back his eyes.

'...More timepass.'

"I am Lishai Volkov a tenth grader and your senior. Starting today you all will be under my care."

She then called out to everyone for the introduction. Lastly A young boy with an enchanting smile, his auburn hair cascading in gentle waves that came from windows. His gray eyes sparkle with mischief and curiosity, fixed intently on pink haired seniors.

He wears a cozy green robe that perfectly complements his pale skin tone, accentuating his slender build and defining his youthful figure. A playful smirk tugs at the corners of his lips, revealing a mouthful of adorable dimples. The boy stood in front of a rustic wooden desk, one hand resting on the desk.

"I Dayu Mors and I come from a commoner family. I don't believe in Gods. I love dating cute girls and I particularly don't hate anything ."

Everyone in the class was stunned by the boy's introduction. His words were tactless. His words didn't match the cute and charming face.

"Who is he calling self proclaimed Gods?"

"Dating girls? Is he a pervert or something?"

"Has he lost his mind? He really doesn't know the wrath of Gods"

"What can we expect from a commoner."

Blah blah blah blah

Lishai commanded him to sit down. She said in a mocking way. 'You are a foul mouthed brat'

Dayu's eye twitched. He never expected to hear those words from her. The class continued after that. They were thought basics about controlling mana.

"What do you think Mana is?"

A second later a girl raised hand sitting in front seat.

"Yes, Carolina right?"

"Yes Miss. Mana is a form of magical life-force."

"Not quite right. In fiction, mana is basically and most commonly portrayed as the magical aspect of life-force. Rare users can create new mana from nothing. However it's all crap."

Dayu wasn't shocked to realise that mana isn't a magical life-force.

"Have anyone ever heard about the Law of conservation of energy?"

Dayu raised his hand and waited until was called out.

He stood and said in a confident voice. 'The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed only converted from one form of energy to another. This means that a system always has the same amount of energy.'

"Correct now that also applies to mana. Mana isn't some out of world energy. We just change the form of energy. Mana is present everywhere we just have to convert it into energy which we can use for our own good."

Dayu never expected Lishai to be this good of a teacher. Time passed and the amazing lecture came to an end. Soon the departure bell rang and everyone left the school to catch their respective buses.

'First day wasn't that bad I guess.'
