Ava, a hardworking young girl, finds herself in a real dilemma after her mother, a drug addict, took out a large loan from loan sharks and fled, leaving Ava to clean up her mess. Ava has one week to pay off her mother's debts or she will be forced to become a mistress to the loan shark, which forces her to sell her virginity to Mason. Mason, on the other hand, wants more than just her virginity; he wants her to be his wife.

Mason came and sat down beside Ava. A moment of silence passed between them. Mason was waiting for Ava to speak first while Ava was thinking of how she was going to put her words together.
"I'm sorry!" They both said at the same time.
Mason smiled as they both held gazes. "I'm sorry, you go first," he said.
"No, you go first," Ava insisted.
"Ladies first," Mason pressed.
Ava swallowed as she tried to think of what to say.
"I'm sorry…. I... I know that being married to me hasn't been easy. I know this isn't what you bargained for. Having to deal with all of my baggage."
Mason furrowed his eyebrow, did she think she was a burden to him? "Baby…."
"Please let me finish," Ava interrupted him, smiling. "Ladies first, right?"
Mason closed his lips and motioned for her to go on.
