Chapter 328 : : King's Horn Inn

The shops, inns, and houses all had rectangular edges and flat roofs, the road was paved with stone, every building had two to three ornamental plants planted outside them.

The pedestrian walking on the road had different attires, and dressing style compared to those in the Golden Bird Continent. Most of them were wearing dresses similar to what Rex was wearing, Mr. Black and Lerna's dress also had the same concept. Only Jiang Qing and Tang Xuan looked somewhat uncommon.

When Rex entered the city and looked around, he first saw a wolf, a wolfman to be precise.

He looked like a human with slatey hair all over his body and a wolf head, and the clothes he was wearing only made him look more hilarious.

That wolfman was from the monster race. He wasn't the only one, Rex saw a little girl with two short horns on her forehead, a blonde woman who was 1.5 times bigger than an adult human and she still seemed to be in her growing phase. There was also a bear-like man walking beside her with his right hand resting on her waist, he had bear-like hair on his head, back neck, back of his hands and other places like that, he also had bear-like ears, and eyes but a human face, his body was emitting a peculiar odor similar to bears and he somehow reminded him of Aiden.

Rex was observing everyone around him, he seemed to search for someone when his eyes landed on a figure not too far away from him.

He was a short man covering himself in a brown blanket. Earlier Rex didn't notice him because of his low presence but now that he had finished observing others, the man caught his attention, the man had hidden most of his body in the blanket so it was hard to make out of his whole appearance, only his face could be seen from the side.

The man had messy brown hair, growing until his long beard, his head was bigger and his tight muscles near his neck were visible. He was looking into a restaurant through the glass window while thinking of something.

'It's a dwarf, no doubt about it,' Rex concluded after looking at the old man for a while.

"Hey Man!" Rex shouted at him.

The man's ear slightly twitched, he turned and looked at Rex, he checked around and confirmed that Rex was looking at him but even after he deeply looked at Rex he still didn't recognize him.

Rex was about to shout again but considering that shouting in the middle of the street wasn't a good idea, he walked toward him.

The dwarf man saw Rex approaching him and frowned, he again confirmed that he didn't know him, and subconsciously took a step back.

'Eh?' Rex noticed that there seemed to be a misunderstanding, he was about to shout but then he saw the dwarf frowning again, the shout from earlier caught a few people's attention and his attire didn't seem like he would like such a thing.

Rex realized it and increased his pace to approach him quickly and explain.

But in the next second the dwarf covered his head under the blanket, turned around, and started running.

Rex was dumbfounded. He felt like he was being really mistaken here.

He then decided to send a Qi transmission message but he failed, it was like an invisible cover blocked the message.

'That blanket isn't ordinary,' Rex thought.

He didn't want to trouble the man anymore and was just about to stop when he felt a big hand pressing on his shoulder. Rex turned and saw the big bear-like man running beside him.

"Little Brother leave him to me," The man assured him, then sprinted towards the old man in the distance.

"Huh?" Rex was confused.

"Yes, you wait here, leave him to us," The big woman who was with the bear-like man earlier ran past him.

Rex intently stared at the 'big' woman, who was putting so many efforts into running while carrying the weight of her... Body as she chased the dwarf, but he got distracted again.

Suddenly, the wolfman who was lazing around also started chasing the dwarf man while shouting at Rex.

"Hey man, let this senior help you. I will just take half of the goods," The wolfman said, in the next second, he displayed his inhuman running speed, surpassing both the man and woman in one go.

"Humph… You mercenaries do nothing without money, as long as my Felas Family exist we don't need you to take care of thieves in our city," The woman said as she took out a talisman and activated it. The talisman turned into a golden light and shot towards the sky, it then burst like a firecracker making an ax symbol in the sir.

Soon Rex saw several figures approaching from afar, they were jumping from one roof to the other as they came to the big woman.

"Everyone catch that thief, don't let him escape today," The bear-man shouted and everyone dashed towards the dwarf man who was already very far.

Rex kept standing there in a daze.

'What the fukkk just happened?' Rex thought while watching the crowd running behind the dwarf man.

[Apparently, someone suffered for no reason.]

Tang Xuan and Jiang Qing standing in the distance gave him strange looks.

"Does Master Rex have some deep grudges against dwarves?" Tang Xuan muttered to himself.

'I was just trying to offer him a free beer, the people here are not polite at all,' Rex shrugged his shoulders then came back to others.

"It's almost evening, let's find an inn to rest for today," Rex said. He wasn't just staying for resting, he wanted to eat, he didn't eat a full meal in the last three days, he did eat some fruits as snacks but as a blood cultivator, they weren't enough. Fortunately, he was also following two different cultivation path that nurtured his body and slightly decreased the requirement for eating. Of course, it will only do him good if he ate timely meals, he could suppress hunger but it won't do any good.

"Master Rex, why don't we go and look around before we leave this city. We are not coming here every day so…" Jiang Qing asked in a slightly pleading tone. Her father had told her to not act rash or stubborn and normally she does remain well behaved but traveling was something she really liked and no matter how she tried, it wasn't easy for her to see Rex as some big prideful powerhouse. "Hmm… Okay then, but we will do it tomorrow, not today, and don't think about buying too many things, because we will do some genuine shopping, later on, don't blame me if you don't have any space left later on," Rex said with a smile. Earlier when he saw her checking out the clothes and jewelry of the woman walking on the streets, he could guess she wants to go shopping.

Real transformable clothes are not available everywhere especially if we are talking about good quality so Rex planned to buy them from Davalon, the kingdom of Dwarfs, Davalon may not be the only Dwarfian Kingdom but it was without a doubt one of the oldest and carried a long legacy with it.

"Master Rex, my Tang Family has a branch and I want to contact my Tang Family right now so I will not be staying at the inn. The branch here is not that good or I would have loved to invite you all," Tang Xuan said in a polite tone.

Rex nodded.

'Tang Family? A Branch? Do they also do business similar to what Jiang Shuang used to do but I don't remember Tang Xuan ever telling me about it especially when he started to call me Brother Ye all this time. If it's a business then shouldn't he request to make deals with me? Are my goods not good? Impossible, Little Rose, just in case…' Rex felt something was wrong.

Although he was worried that the branch here is not too good but this was only a side reason, the main problem he was worried about was that Rex and Lerna might not get VIP treatment at the branch, he wants them to have which might anger them.

Rex opened the door and went into the inn together with the other three.

The reception was in front of the door, there were several wooden round tables in the hall, all of them were occupied and the waitresses were busy tending to the diners, serving the food and beer.

Rex walked to the reception table, a bulky middle-aged man was managing the reception, his hair was curled backward and he had a long black beard. The man looked at Rex approaching and smiled.

"Welcome to the inn guests, I am Luis, how about you? I never saw you around before, are you new to the city? Do you want a room? Do you want to order dinner? Or would you want to take a bath first?" He fired several questions in a row before Rex could even open his mouth to speak.

'For some reason, his words feels somewhat familiar,' Rex raised his eyebrow.

'Say no more,' Rex immediately stopped it, even with his sky-high cultivation base and incredible mental strength, he didn't have the guts to imagine that man in front of him doing that while wearing an apron.
