"Ahh, finally some rest." Lu Chen moaned, dropping to the ground in exhaustion as they reached the lake.
Vincent followed up by slanting on a nearby large rock for rest. N all words, he needed this the most. It was him who killed all the monsters ranging from the mantis to little green men he killed as they talked which Nate determined to be goblins.
Vincent sighed as he recalled the event.
After leaving the group, Vincent advanced forward following the grunts ahead of him. He carefully moved towards the direction where the noise was coming from.
Just as he pushed aside a par of bushes, he was surprised to find a couple of people....if that's what you would call them, they were small pointy eared, ugly, green, and potbellied men.
Some held swords and daggers and clubs but they were rusty and club was aged. Feeling complexed, Vincent stepped out of the bushes alerting the creatures of his presence.
"Maybe they aren't what write them out to be in the novels." He thought but the creatures went and did exactly the opposite.
They all charged at him, their weapons prepared to attack him. He only sighed as he rose his gun, killing the first one with a headshot and then the second.
"Seems these ones aren't strong nor fast, they are just like humans." Vincent thought as the rest of them stopped in their tracks, staring at him with sweat dripping down their faces as if contemplating whether to charge forward or run back.
Taking the opportunity, Vincent shot another one reducing their number to four. They all reacted to this running away as their comrade fell down but Vincent didn't let this go through as he aimed his gun at them.
Taking in a deep breath and closing his left eye before shooting thrice, the goblins weren't very fast with the small legs and they weren't even moving in one direction so the bullets hit two of them but the last one was lucky and passed by a tree, letting it cover him from the bullet.
"Hmm lucky bastard." Vincent sighed, placing his gun away before chasing after the goblin.
Mentioned before, goblins aren't fast so when someone who managed to beat a creature four times as fast as humans rushes at it, the probability of escaping are less than 1%.
Yet Vincent still manage to lose him, with him coming to a stop.
"Where the hell did he go?" Vincent wondered as he scanned the area looking for the goblin but with no trace, he relaxed a bit.
Suddenly a figure jumped out of the bushes, aiming at Vincent with its dagger aimed exactly at his neck but just as it was about to land, Vincent quickly unsheathed his sword slicing through the goblin in one fast slash.
Blood splashed on his clothes as the two half of the goblin landed on the ground.
"Seems like you aren't that dumb, planning to sneak up on me when I'm not prepared." Vincent smiled, slashing his sword in the air, sending the blood off the sword and painting a tree.
"That should be all, now let's go." Vincent said, leaving the area as he headed back to the group.
"My skill is Poison Gas, I basically allows me to release poison in the form of gas from my body." He heard a voice as he approached the group, stopping behind some trees to gain cover.
"Wait so like the spider." He heard Lu Chen's voice among the conservation.
"Yeah I guess so."
"Hmm, so they are revealing their skills huh, what fools, I know Chen won't be so dumb to."
"Okay, I'll try."
"Wha, what's wrong with him. I have to get there."
"Well, that's weird there-" His eyes widened as he heard Lu Chen continue, instantly moving out of the trees and approaching the group
"Hey! I'm done let's get a move on!"
"Vincent sighed but then recalled another memory which happened after a while walking into the forest with a group of freakishly large horned rabbits.
They just stumbled upon the rabbits eating, Lu Chen thought they were cute and tried petting them only for them to attack him.
They were fast with their horn attacks but all they needed to do was stand in front of a tree and wait, once it charged just move aside. The rabbits were like bullets when charging, fast and sharp but couldn't change their trajectory so they would just stab deep into the tree.
All that was left was to slice their heads off but the hassle was from their sheer number. If you dodged one another would just come at you. For this, Lu Chen and Emily had to distract them while Vincent killed them and Nate carried the girl.
They had really bonded over the two hour walk they were partaking in…at least Lu Chen was, Vincent still didn't trust them. He didn't even know their names until Lu Chen told him.
Resting for a little over 10 seconds, he got up again before walking towards Lu Chen, tapping his shoulder.
"Chen, I need you to follow me." Vincent stated,
"Where." Lu Chen asked, looking up at Vincent
"Just follow." Vincent state again before walking over to the rock with Lu Chen following behind him.
"You're an imbecile." Vincent said right away as Lu Chen reached the boulder.
"You brought me here to insult me, why." Lu Chen asked, confused at Vincent's gaslight.
"Back there, I overheard your little confession session back there and I just want to ask you whether you're dumb, stupid, or just reckless." Vincent added in with more rudeness.
"All three options mean I'm dumb." Lu Chen didn't want to answer knowing it was a trick question.
"So I'll take dumb…you know what, no all of the above is better." Vincent added the icing of the rudeness.
"What did you want me to do, they were telling me theirs" Lu Chen countered back.
"Then why did you ask for hers in the first place." Vincent countered better making Chen feel stupid as he had no comeback to that.
"How long were you listening." He asked
"Long enough." Vincent stated.
"Oh also you mentioned something about you knowing if the girl wasn't dead yet, I'm assuming that's your skill." Vincent began to release his analyzed info.
"But you said I shouldn't tell people my skills." Lu Chen let a sly smile.
"Watch your sassiness, I don't need you to tell me I already know." Vincent continued, startling Chen but he calmed down after a second.
"How, I don't believe you." Chen was still hesitant to believe him.
"Let me explain, for you to know if the girl is alive or not you need to study her so I thought your skill was increased intelligence and perception which lets you see her heat beating but you proved me wrong or it doesn't actually makes you smarter. So off to option two, Analyze, I used to read light novels in my free time so I heard of Analyze or Inspect." Vincent explained in detail.
"So in conclusion, you're able to check the states of people and possibly objects." He added in a comment.
"All that from me saying she was fine." Lu Chen was amazed by also frightened by his intelligence or just e had given away too much from his earlier sentence.
"Yes so am I right." He agreed asking a question of his own.
"Affirmative but that was not how I knew it or half of it." Chen agreed but scratched his head as he said the last part.
"What do you mean?" Vincent asked.
"Ugh, back when you were fighting the mantis, my hand kind of shifted and her…." Chen explained but stopped midway as he looked to the side in embarrassment.
"Her what." Vincent urged.
"And her boobs were on my arm and I felt her heartbeat through that." Lu Chen continued, forcing through his shame
"So you're pervert."
"It was a mistake but when I touched her, a screen popped up showing her status?" Le Chen added.
"I have another question." Vincent's voice seemed to change, becoming more rigid and his pupils became thinner like a cat as he said this.
"What?"
"Were they soft or hard?" Vincent asked, making Chen stop for a bit before reluctantly answering.
"Soft?"
Vincent closed his eyes for a moment breathing in a sigh before opening his eyes calm again.
"Okay then, I need you to analyze the vials in my bag." Vincent's voice came back to its soft and relaxed tone.
"Wait"
"What."
"Since you know my skill and probably everyone else's, what's yours?"
"Hmm, why don't you figure it out like I did?" Vincent grinned before turning back and walking back to Nate and Emily who were sitting by the lake.
Emily smiled as she sat on the edge, letting the breeze blow on her skin while Nate just stood behind her sloughing on a tree, his eyes meeting Vincent's as he walked towards them.
"Emily, I need you to bring me my bag. Nate bring the girl to the rock." Vincent ordered them, his tone cold and domineering, a complete contrast to the way he talks to Chen.
Nate nodded his head before picking up the girl who was put up against the tree as Emily reached forward and picked his bag with both of them walking together.
"Hmm, they must really like this girl." Nate commented, looking down on the lady.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Emily asked.
"In our situation, people wouldn't mind just leaving her behind to die but these guys carried her with them." He explained.
"I guess so, huh." She realized.
"Hurry up, we don't have all day." Vincent shouted, looking at them with his cold eyes from the rock.
"We are coming." Nate yelled out.
"Let's go before he gets crankier." He joked, prompting Emily to let out a chuckle before hurrying up, reaching the boulder in a few seconds.
"Drop them and leave." Vincent ordered without even looking at them.
"His guy is really bossy." They three of them thought as they left the three alone.
"Okay then, Chen inspect this liquid." Said Vincent as he pulled out the flask, then a vial of the red liquid.
Lu Chen held it in his hand, activating the skill in his mind before a large blue screen filled his vision.
[Item: Instant Healing Potion]
[Type: Legendary Support Item]
[Description: This legendary potion had the power to instantly cure on of any illness, damage, or poison done to the consumer as long as the user still has breath.]
"What the hell, Vincent this is a healing potion." He muttered out, surprised and amazed at the description of this ordinary looking vial.
"Hmm, just like I presumed." Vincent stroked his chin.
"Not only that but it's basically an instant-heal for everything, including poisons." Lu Chen added in, staring at Vincent for one breath moment before looking to the side.
"Fine, I'll give her one." Said Vincent as he stared at Chen, moving his hand through his hair.
"But I should also have some in my bag." Chen interjected.
"Don't worry about it." Said Vincent as he grabbed the from Lu Chen's hand before shifting over to the girl, lifting her up before pouring the vial down her throat.
He turned her over, only to find the burn on her back healing itself and after a second, there wasn't even a scar to remember it by. Her eyes fluttered open as her breathing became rapid as her breathing came back to normal.
"Ugh, where am I?" She softly asked as she looked at Vincent.
"A thank you would be appreciated but sure, where in the woods." Vincent answered, pointing at the trees to prove their location.
"Wait it's you." Her eyes opened wide as she recalled him from just before she passed out.
"Yeah, your rescuer." Vincent stated with his usual cold and domineering tone.
"Okay, rest we need to move." He continued as he stood up.
"Chen why are you just sitting there." Vincent turned his head over to the silent Chen.
"Nothing, I'm just amazed how rude you are to people."
"Thanks, people say it's my way of leadership." Vincent smiled.
"If you need me I'll be in the lake." said Vincent as he stopped midway before walking off leaving both of them quiet.
"What's his problem?" The lady asked, turning to Lu Chen.
"I seriously don't know." Lu Chen answered as he watched Vincent walk over to Emily and Nate.
Vincent just walked past the two standing by the lake before unbuttoning his shirt, revealing his muscular physique as he threw the shirt down.
"Don't come looking for me if I don't come out after 30 minutes." Vincent said but before they could ask the reason, he jumped into the lake.
"What the hell was that?"
"Okay then, here's the other two with us, Nate and Emily." Lu Chen introduced as he walked aside the girl.
"The grumpy one we saw earlier was Vincent." He said, looking up but his eyes began to dart around when he didn't find Vincent among them.
"Wait, where is Vincent?" He asked.
The two didn't answer just looked at each other before looking down at the lake.
"What's wrong with him, what if they are monsters down there?!" Lu Chen yelled out as he stared down the lake.
"Vincent, come out right now." Lu Chen shouted as he hungover the edge, however he was met with nothing but silence.
"Vincent, are you okay." He yelled into the lake.
"Vincent!" He shouted again, this time with a worried tone.
"Damn, what's wrong with you? This is exactly why I told you to not go looking for me." Vincent surfaced out of the water, looking at Emily and Nate with regret.
"Are you serious, Vincent?"
However the smile faded away quickly as Vincent stared at Lu Chen.
"Why, is there something on me?" He asked but as he looked over his shoulder, his eyes widened as he witnessed what seemed to be a ray of light exuding from his body.
The light continued to spread through his body, covering his body as Vincent desperately tried to get up there. However just as he reached him, the light beamed into the sky taking Lu Chen with it.
He was left shocked but as he looked around, his eyes also widened more as all of them had the same light spreading through their bodies. One by one they all beamed away, leaving Vincent alone in shock, and confusion.
However as he looked over his shoulder, he witnessed the light covering his arm and soon it overtook him.
[Okay then Players, we're going to make some changes to the game]
