Chapter 68 - The American Kaiju

[January of 2013]

[New York City]

3rd PoV

What Andrew was currently seeing is a freaking Godzilla look-alike as it towered over sky scrapers easily while roaring to the sky — displaying its majestic self.

It had a thick and scary-looking hide that has small, spiky scales and has sharp claws in its fingers. Its had large spikes going from the back of its tail all the way on to the back of its head.

*Swoosh*

It roared again as it then swung it's thick, scaly arms to one of the buildings as the wind warped around its moving arm.

**Boom**

A few small missiles suddenly appeared from the corner of a building and then slammed at the face of the creature. The missiles did its job to explode but was unsuccessful with damaging anything as the Godzilla-knockoff just scoffed and seemed more pissed off.

*Swoosh*

Its arms were still going to do its job which was smashing that building when a green something jumped from the ground and met the claws with its fist.

*BANG!*

The clawed hands were stopped by the punch of the Hulk but the gravity quickly caught up with the rageful green monster as Hulk began falling to the ground.

On the other hand. The source of the small missiles from earlier hovered in the air as he observed the reptilian creature with a scowl in his face.

"When will this reptilian bastards leave me alone?" Tony Stark was already fed up with this creatures as he not only had to deal with a dragon in the past, but now a Godzilla-ripoff?

His frustration was doubled up when he remembered the information that Jarvis and Fury gave to him regarding this current enemy.

This Godzilla was actually the result of some scientists once again trying to replicate the Super Soldier Serum. But this time, they even upped their game as they not only used gamma radiation like what Bruce Banner did, but they even used the genetic samples of the flesh of the dragon that he, those supers at Baxter Building, and Psionix finished off.

He just sighed at that as he then contacted the America's current greatest hero. "Cap, what's the status with the civilians?"

Steve Rogers reply was quick "I and the other meta police have already evacuated the people and the vicinity is all clear. Now we just need to know how we can take down that thing."

Steve Rogers was obviously useless at this kind of fight as he voluntarily reduced himself to just evacuating the civilians from the vicinity along with the other superpowered people.

God, how he loved the times when he just had to deal with racist fuckers in the past but now he has to deal with Gods and some abnormally large lizards which he cannot even fight against.

"We're here." Another voice then suddenly resounded in the comms of the Avengers as they all looked and saw group of people, wearing black military suits that looked too cool according to Stark's mind.

The group is led by the master of magnetism who pointed a hand at the creature and then large amount of metals from all around floated and then formed into chains that tried to chain the Godzilla's arms and legs.

Keyword; Tried. The Godzilla-knockoff which was supposed to be known as the American Kaiju was too strong for some metals to just restrict it like that as it turned around and looked at the group with snarling look.

*Swoosh!*

Magneto's eyes widened as he and his subordinates quickly evaded and swerved to the left as a large stream of slightly concentrated flames passed by them.

The American Kaiju can fire breath...

Stark quickly took this opportunity after he saw the open mouth of the lizard as he quickly sent in a few missiles to its mouth — hoping that the inside of its mouth isn't as resistant as its hide.

"GRAAAA!" The American Kaiju wasn't fazed by the missiles that exploded in its mouth as it just roared at them in defiance.

"HULK GRAAAA!!" Another roar was heard as Hulk once again jumped and immediately reached the face of the kaiju. Hulk had a more anger in his face as he pulled his arms back and then punched out.

*BAAAAM!*

His strength have once again increased by the fact that the lizard wouldn't smash to the ground after his punch. And so, this particular punch of his was already approaching the 500s of tonnes and the thick hide of the the kaiju didn't managed to completely mitigate the force as the kaiju smashed to the ground on its back — its spiked back piercing the ground, making large holes in it.

The Meta Task Force that was led by Magneto on the other hand was already at the ground as Avalanche crouched down and directed large amounts of seismic energy to the ground and into the direction of the head of the kaiju.

The disadvantage of Avalanche's meta ability was its inability to directly affect organic matter so he always need something like a medium to pass his seismic energy if he wants to attack someone.

"GRAAAAH!"

Juggernaut on the other hand was already running towards the kaiju along with Hulk as they made eye contact and came to a silent agreement — Whoever kills the lizard wins.

Everyone then watched as the seismic attack reached the kaiju's head, though it didn't made any damage, it seemed to have worked with disorienting it as it tried to stand up but failed as it shook its head repeatedly.

Thud!

Thud!

Sounds of heavy running resounded as the kaiju finally managed to remove its dizziness and opened its eyes just to be met with two fist; one gauntleted and one green, and it smashed to his durable scaly face.

*BAAAM!*

The Kaiju that was trying to stand up was smashed by the fist and the strength of the two physically strongest hero made the head of the kaiju fly along with its body.

*Swoosh!*

The flying gigantic kaiju's body flew at a fast speed and was about to smash at one of the buildings that was on its trajectory when it suddenly stopped in mid air.

"Not on my watch." A familiar unique voice resounded as the Avengers, Meta Task Force and some normal police turned to where it came from and saw the famous fragmented glass-like visage of the what they assumed as the most powerful meta in the earth.

""Psionix!""

The meta police and normal police all screamed in excitement like a bunch of girls seeing their favorite celebrities.

Psionix just waved at them slightly which almost made some of them faint as he waved his hand and made the now-unconscious kaiju approach him.

He then slowly flew down and met up face to face with the earth's mightiest heroes and the meta task force as he waved at them casually. " 'Sup guys."

Swoosh..

Tony Stark also flew down and opened his helmet as he stood side by side with Hulk and Steve Rogers. The former also replied casually "Sup, mirror man."

Steve looked at the floating unconscious kaiju and then spoke "What should we do with that?"

"Hulk say we smash 'em!" Hulk quickly suggested with a proud look.

"Juggernaut agrees!"

"Yeah! Smash! Smash! Smash! Smash!" Hulk was overjoyed by that as he quickly raised an arm and began chanting while Juggernaut followed along.

"No! There's no smashing that will happen here right now, okay?" Steve was exasperated by the two as he began carefully explaining to the two why they don't need to smash anything right now.

"Hmph! Hulk don't like you." Hulk eventually said with a huffed look while the Juggernaut just shook his head in disappointment.

"Okay okay, that's enough, what should we really do with fire breathing lizard right here?" Stark intervened.

Magneto was about to talk to give a suggestion when numerous SUVs appeared in the distance and then quickly pulled up in front of them. Nick Fury climbed down his vehicle as he nearedthe group with a calm look — with his trusted agent/friend beside him.

He then stood in front of the groups as they looked at his attire which was obviously the same all-black trench coat, pants, inner shirt, and eye patch.

Toad – who was useless at the just-ended fight – couldn't help but think if the person in front of him is also a meta that has the ability to regulate and control his body temperature because, because this is the first time he saw someone wearing that outfit in the middle of the glaring sun.

But he didn't express any of his thoughts as he was pretty sure that he would get a bonk from juggernaut if he just utter one nonsense words.

Psionix on the other hand watched the guy stand in front of them as he waited for what he has to say.

"Ehem." Fury cleared his throat a bit as he then continued "With the order from the pentagon. This dangerous creature is now to be send to their research center after it is ultimately certain that it will not be able to cause havoc again. The research center would find ways to neutralize the creature so that it will not be able to harm anyone again."

Magneto, Stark and Psionix all rolled their eyes in unison as Stark then spoke mockingly "How kind of them to actually think about the public..."

"I already know Stark, but I'm just following orders here." Fury replied helplessly and the continued as he turned to Psionix "Would you be so kind and send this creature to the research center?"

"I'm not a delivery boy. Tell them to go fetch it themselves." Psionix replied casually with a wave of his hand as the kaiju began hovering and then landed to the beach at the far side of the city.

He then turned to Magneto "The metas of the Celestial Industries that focuses on repairing things is now on the way to fix this holes in the streets and those broken establishments. You should go help them to finish the job faster."

Magneto nodded in acknowledgment as he turned to his and also nodded to them as they began walking away — ready to meet up with the restoration crew of the company.

"Y'all got a department of metas that focuses on repairing this kinds of damage!?" Stark asked incredulously while looking at the big holes in the streets, some broken buildings and etc.

"Yep." Psionix simply replied in a matter-of-factly tone as he floated and then blasts away — leaving rising dusts that annoyed the already angry Fury who grumbled in a low tone:

"That mirror-faced motherfucker.."
