Something to do with her father?
Yelan's expression darkened. She'd known for a long time that her father wasn't what he was portraying to be in the public's eye. He'd been doing illegal transactions and using his company as a cover. She had seen once how he'd kill one of his men just because they made a mistake in transferring goods to the Central City.
"You knew as well, didn't you?" Daniel said as he pulled out the car to the parking lot of a convenience store. They'd been on the road for almost two hours without a stop. He stepped out of the car, and she followed him behind.
Pulling her lab coat to cover herself from the biting coldness of the night, Yelan cursed silently as her teeth chattered together. Not being able to escape from Daniel with her thoughts all over the place, she reluctantly followed him.
