Greed At Its Work.

"So why have you called me here?"

Mayor Creed King crossed his legs and rested his back on the seat, he didn't care much about anything else, all he wanted was what he was there for.

"Uhm, Sir, I am sure you must have heard about what is going on now sir, a new serial killer might have awoken. The news carried it, the death of three college students."

"Ohh that, the one that occurred at Autumn park?"

"Yes sir."

"I heard about it, but what has that gotten to do with me?"

"Uhm, it's nothing much sir, but I have two things to discuss with you."

Mayor Creed didn't look interested in the conversation as he kept looking at his finger nails.

"Agent Thomas right?"

"Yes sir"

"Please go straight to the point, I am busy man and I despise the way you beat round the bush."

"Okay..." Agent Thomas said as he also rested on his chair, he made himself comfortable before he spoke, as the attitude of the Mayor vexed him.

"Mayor Creed King, you do know that the victims are close friends to your daughter? She visited the park with those three dead bodies and one more person, she and the other person are missing. Sir, was your daughter home yesterday?"

Mayor Creed King, dropped the legs he had crossed earlier, he had gained more interest in their conversation. Looking scared, he opened his mouth to speak.

"Agent Thomas, she wasn't home. I thought she slept over at a friend's home."

"Okay Sir, but you do know, that it's only natural to say your daughter is also a major suspect. For now, it's her and the other guy that is missing. I have been unable to find him, at the park, they stated Three boys and two ladies were at that park, but we only saw the bodies of two boys and a girl."

"What? Why haven't you gotten hold of the other boy?"

"We are working on that sir, and sir, if your daughter is found out to be the killer, she has to face the consequences."

Mayor Creed King's face started to change, he looked angry as he was irked at the way Agent Thomas spoke.

"So-"

"But..." Before Mayor Creed could finish speaking, the agent interrupted him.

"But what?" Mayor Creed looked angrier at the man that kept interrupting him.

"But, we could talk things out sir..." Agent Thomas raised up his hand and signified to the Mayor to come closer, to whisper what he was about to say into the mayor's ears. Mayor Creed answered him and moved closer.

"Sir, you know the way you can alter it, I am tired of sitting on this goddamn Deputy Director's seat. I need to be relaxed at the Director's office without stress, but-" He couldn't finish talking when the Mayor spoke.

"Ohh! Ha ha ha" Mayor Creed king said as he straightened his tie. He faked a laughter the moment he got what the man was about to say. He gave the man a look that said, 'Greedy Fellow'.

"Yes sir, you must have understood what I mean, Ha ha ha" Agent Thomas also laughed and he was also insincere.

Mayor Creed king also held out his hand forward and waved to Agent Thomas to come closer.

"What you mean is, you want to get promoted right?" Mayor Creed looked curious, expecting the greedy man to answer.

"Yes Si-"

"Ha ha ha ha.. I actually just understood now, excuse my arrogance, Director, Ha ha ha."

"Ha ha ha, Yes sir!"

Mayor Creed king looked back, he was sure that there were people trying to listen in on their discussion.

'I need to cause a scene to make them lose their guard and stop.' The mayor thought, with his hand in his chin.

All of a sudden, as Agent Thomas kept laughing, he suddenly heard a loud bang on the table and the moment he opened his eyes, and saw the mayor standing in anger as he held his tie.

"You!, why won't you take your job more seriously?, what's the meaning of all this nonsense?"

Agent Thomas looked confused, he also knew that there where people trying to listen in on their conversation so he thought, that the Mayor wanted to castigate him, so he won't have a chance to carry out his plan.

"Sir, I don't ge-"

"You don't what?! You should do your job well! Why would you be having a hard time catching a little boy that killed his friends?!...

Jackson! Get in here."

Sounds of footsteps were heard and what followed it the sound of the door opening, with a man in all black from head to toe rushing into the office.

"Yes sir, you called me!"

"Get out there and get me a cup of coffee, you mustn't be late...

Arrant Nonsense!"

"Sir.. Yes Sir!" Jackson spoke running out of the office and he closed the door immediately he ran out and his footsteps began to fade away.

As soon as they knew that Jackson, Mayor Creed king's body guard had gone far enough, Mayor Creed king sat down and straightened his clothes. He smiled and looked at Agent Thomas, who was dumbfounded.

"Where were we, Director?"

"Uhm, Yes sir, we were talking about the case."

"Yeah, by tomorrow, you will receive a call, so, don't let my daughter's name appear on any news or paper about her being a suspect. Get rid of all evidence."

"Oh Sir! Thanks a lot sir! I am really grateful...

By the way sir, I wouldn't want you to see me as a greedy man, it's just..."

'It's just what? You greedy fellow' Mayor Creed king thought as he eyed Agent Thomas who kept ranting nonsense.

"So, Director, when you get promoted tomorrow, don't forget mine. I want no traces of Leia's presence there. Now that we are done talking, may I leave?"

"Yes Sir, I am really grateful sir."

'I couldn't care less about my daughter, but I don't want any useless news to start getting out about me and my family.' Mayor Creed king thought to himself as he left the office and slammed the door.
