I suddenly woke up hearing someone calling me. "My child, its time to wake up." I slowly stood up and watched the place surrounding me. I looked behind my back and saw an enormous tree, as if we were one. "My child." Suddenly, creatures coming from different directions appear in front of me, forming a crescent-moon shape. One by one they bowed and flower petals fell from the sky. "Welcome home, my child."
Third Person's POV
The young lad just nodded, sensing the depth of the old man's words. He felt a connection to this place, its people, and the river that shaped their lives. As they sat in silence once more, the young lad felt a sense of peace settle over him, a rare feeling in his long and often hectic life.
After a while, the old man stood up, leaning on his cane for support. "Well, young man, it was good talking to you. Enjoy your time in Vaeri. And if you stay for the festival, make sure you watch the river race. It's something special."
The young lad stood as well, offering the old man a nod of respect. "I will. Thank you for your company."
The old man smiled, a knowing look in his eyes. "Take care, traveler. May the river guide your path."
