Chapter 2: New beginnings

Around 6 o'clock AM the bell at the peak of the guild started chiming. Everyone started to awake from their rooms and meet in the gathering section of the guild. As the elder does a head count it appears there are two people short. "Where are the two new guys at?" said a watchman. Before anybody could answer Jonah and Gad come breaking out their rooms and into the gathering room still in their nightly attire. "Gad checking in!" "Jonah checking in!"

The two yelled before sitting down. "Don't be late again boys." The elder said. The elder went on to explain today's training regiments. Arthur the knight commander brought everybody outback to begin training. Training consisted of endurance training. Run till you fall. Push-ups till your arms break. Crunches till you can't move your torso. After that is when you practice your combat skills. Jonah was selected as a spearman and Gad got selected as a Halbardier. Both boys practiced by gutting and slashing hay and wood dummies. A few hours later everyone went inside for dinner and then settled down for bed. Jonah and Gad went to their room to lay down. "So how are you feeling about all of this Gad" said Jonah. "I feel amazing! I promise you I will be the strongest and most vicious soldier of them all!"

"At Least you're optimistic about this. Watching everybody else training today made me realize how new and weak I really am." Jonah softly told

"Oh don't let it get to you. You and I will be amazing out there. Now let's get some sleep." Gad soon blew out the candle lighting the room making it pitch black.
