Chapter 17

I waved goodbye as Ellen and Micheal left for their own place a huge grin plastered on my face as I felt good for the first time in a long while. Domini’s door creaked open as he poked his head out a look of concern on his face as he whispered,

“Is she gone?”

I felt my grin wavier as I took in his expression.

“Yes? Micheal and Ellen just left?” My voice said with uncertainty, my mind again wondering what had happened between them as Domini left out a relieved sigh.

He opened his door and walked into the kitchen as if nothing was amiss, I cleared my throat to get his attention as I raised an eyebrow questioningly. He gave me an odd nervous smile.

“Oh, well…” He paused, running his hand through his hair looking past me out the open door.

His eyes flicked back to me before he sighed, I held firm and crossed my arms showing him I was not going to let this go. He groaned before speaking.

“I just… Ellen… I…” his tone seemed panicked.
