Chapter 40

I sprinted across the wide room.

I want to see him.

My pace increased as I did another lap.

What is he doing right now? Should I go over to him? I know he won't come to me because he's probably embarrassed for causing a scene when he was drunk. He's adorable like that.

"Where are you going?" Lisa shouted after me as I ran out of the room. I have to see him.

It's been twelve minutes and twenty-three seconds since I've been standing in front of his door. I had raised my hand several times to knock but had chickened out every single time. There was a tough word he had carelessly thrown in our previous argument.

Love.

I hadn't have ever thought about it, well until now. Do I love him?

The door opened suddenly and a moment of silence as we both stared at each other with wide eyes. My lips parted to get some words out but before I could utter anything, he slammed the door in my face.

I blinked.

Once.

Twice.
