Problems ahead

Chantel got over her shock. She was visibly shaken by what she had just heard.

"Did you just say I am pregnant?"

"Yes, Miss Chantel. You are two months pregnant. Congratulations." The nurse said.

"No, this cant be right. Chantel cant be pregnant. She is still virgin," Adiepena defended her.

"Ask your friend if she is really a virgin. Anyway, i have already spoken to the headmaster and he and i came to the conclusion that you must bring your parents here to the school. We have to speak to them", the nurse replied.

She looked at Chantel intently and asked her, "By the way, how old are you, Chantel?

"I am sixteen, auntie."

The nurse shook her head and sighed. "So young," she muttered.

Chantel began to cry. "No, this cant be happening to me. I cant be pregnant. No, this is not possible." She ran out in tears while the other girls followed her calling her name. She ran towards the dormitory and stood under one of the trees. Cynthia and Adiepena caught up with her.

Chantel had her hands on her head and she was crying bitterly. How was she going toexplain to her mother and father that she is pregnant? They would be so disappointed in her. She felt so disappointed in herself. She felt like dying at that moment. Her friends stood by her and tried to comfort her while she weeped and felt story for herself.

"Chantel, are you okay?" Adiepena asked her

Chantel shook her head, she could not even breath. Cynthia who had not uttered a word ever since they found out Chantel was pregnant finally spoke.

"i have asked yu this already but obviously youlied to me so i will ask again. What happened between you and Kevin that night?"

"What are you talking about? What kind of question is that?" Adiepena asked Cynthia angrily.

"Chantel knows what i am talking about. The day she left this place with kevin something happened between them. i asked her if something happened between them and she said no. But obviously it was a lie because now she is pregnant. How do you explain that?"

Adiepena looked at her friend in confusion and turned towards Chantel who was had bended herself lower to the ground. She lowered herself and whispered to her.

"What Cynthia is saying? Is it true? Did something happen between you and Kevin?"

Chantel nodded slowly. "Yes, something happened between us."

"Chantel! How could you allow something like that to happen?"

"I know, I was stupid. I was carried away. I did not realise the implication of all these. What am I going to tell my parents when they get here? They would be so disappointed in me." she slowly stood up on her feet and began to silently cry.

Cynthia felt so sorry for her. Initially, she wanted to slap Chantel for getting herself in this situation but the deed had already been done. She hugged her friend, who fell into the hug and cried some more.

"I think we should take you back to the dorm and tell your teacher that you are not feeling well. I don't think it will be advisable for you to be in class looking like this." Cynthia said.

"No, I will go back to class. I need to get my mind off this even for a few minutes. I need to think of what I am even going to tell my parents."

"What about Kevin? He needs to know that his seed has germinated." Adiepena asked.

"You are right. I will have to wait till the weekend which is two days away. I don't think I have that much time."

"Chantel, I am really sorry about what you are going through, really. Let's go back to class, then after class we talk, okay?" Cynthia said.

Chantel and Adiepena nodded. They both headed back to the classroom blocks and departed into their classrooms.

Back at the seniors block, Naa was rushing into her class when she saw Nadia and Akua seated, talking about something. She ran to them excitedly and pulled a chair. She sat down in an unladylike  manner and clapped her hands excitedly.

"You won't believe what I just heard on my way up here," she began.

"What?" Akua asked and Nadia looked away unconcerned.

"On my way from the library, I passed by the nurses office and guess who I saw there?"

"Can you just go straight to the point?" Nadia sneered.

Naa frowned a little. "Chantel and her friends. They were at the nurses office because it turns out our girl is pregnant." she announced.

"Excuse me, did I hear you right? Did you just say that Chantel is pregnant? Like carrying a baby?"Nadia emphasized.

"Yes. She is pregnant. That girl was behaving like Virgin Mary only for this to happen. This is so disappointing. "

"Ha, finally I have something to taunt that girl with. She thought she was hurting me. Now, who has the last laugh," Nadia said.

"Wait, o. How did you know this?" Akua asked.

"I just told you I passed by the nurses office. Her door was a bit opened and I kind of overhead the pregnancy announcement. I tried to peek through the window and that was when I saw the three girls. They were seated in front of the nurse. I saw them with my eyes." Naa said.

"Does that matter? She heard them and that is what's important. I am sure that girl was foolish enough to sleep with Kevin without protection. In this age, who sleeps with a guy without protection?"

"Maybe Kevin made her forget her senses when they were making love. That girl is very foolish if you ask me," Akua said.

"I don't think my cousin is even responsible for her pregnancy. Kevin won't be that irresponsible. That girl may be sleeping with someone else apart from my cousin." Naa said.

"Well, whether its Kevin or not, that girl better be ready for me, because I will make her wish she never stepped foot in this school." Nadia smirked evily.
