chapter 8

Ace's pov

Ignoring what she said, I took my keys and went out the door.

I was supposed to be in the office by 8 but the files kept me waiting.

Hopping into my car I began to drive.

As I drove I couldn't help but think back to what happened in the house, she was so riled up and couldn't believe I'd do something like that.

Serves her right tho, she thinks this will be a bliss marriage, she doesn't know what's coming for her.

I pulled into the office parking lot and parked my car. I got out and headed into the building. Ms Davis was waiting for me .

"Sir you have a lot of meetings on your schedule today.

Mr Oliver's business proposal, signing of the other contract to seal the deal." She said

"Okay sure" I replied.

"The remaining files you asked me to bring, it on your desk sir" she said and turned to leave.

"Please get me coffee Ms Davis" I need a little caffeine to get through this day.

Arrgh so much work to do.

I thought I'll just arrive at the company, go over some files and leave immediately, I don't know if Gabe and I can still meet in the club for a drink like we planned.

My phone started ringing.I looked at the caller ID, it's my father.

I picked it

"Morning father" I said.

"Morning son, hope you had a good night rest" he said sounding far too eager.

"A good night rest, what are you hinting at father?" I asked, I'm not ready for this now I have work to do.

" from the way you sound I guess things didn't go as planned, I expected it tho" he said calmly.

He sounds way too cool for someone things didn't go his way.

"Why did you call father" I asked.

" I prepared a trip for the both of you, you are going for your honeymoon" he replied nonchalantly.

" why father? I don't have time for such nonsense" I said exasperatedly.

"You have to or one of your cousin gets to have the company" he said.

" we had a deal father. that I got married to her as you aeked" I replied trembling with rage.

"My company, my rules" he said and hung up the phone leaving me speechless.

I can't believe he'd say that to me, I know how much effort I've put into this company.

"Did she call dad to tell him about the contract I made her sign" I wondered.

Nahh I don't think she did, if not dad would have said something about it .

What kind of spell did that gold digger cast on Dad.

As I stood in the hallway, I felt a pit in my stomach. My head was swirling with questions and doubts.

Why was my father so insistent on this marriage? Did he have an ulterior motive? Did he know something I didn't?

A cold chill ran down my spine as I considered the possibilities. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I needed to focus on what was in front of me, not the things I couldn't control.

But it was hard not to feel overwhelmed by the situation.

I took a deep breath and headed to my office. As I walked down the hall, my heart was pounding in my chest. I wasn't sure what I would do next, or how I would deal with the situation.

But as I sat down at my desk, I knew I had to focus on my work. I had a lot of responsibilities, and I couldn't let my personal life interfere with my job.

I turned on my computer and started working on a project that had been giving me trouble.

My secretary, Ms. Davis, knocked gently on my door. "Mr. Russell, there's someone here to see you," she said.

"Thank you, Ms. Davis," I replied. "Please show them in."

I sat back in my chair, curious to see who this visitor might be. The door opened, and Ms. Davis led a man into my office. He was tall and imposing, and he looked very serious.

The man stood in front of my desk and said, "Good morning, Mr. Russell. My name is Mr. Oliver, and I'm here to discuss a business opportunity with you."

I looked him over, assessing him. He seemed like a man who meant business, and I was intrigued to hear what he had to say.

"Please, Mr. Oliver, have a seat," I said, gesturing to the chair across from my desk.

Mr. Oliver sat down, and I leaned forward in my chair. "So, Mr. Oliver, what is this business opportunity you'd like to discuss with me?" I asked.

Mr. Oliver cleared his throat and began, "As you know, my company is in the business of manufacturing and selling widgets.

"We've been looking for new opportunities to expand our business, and we've identified your company as a potential partner," Mr. Oliver continued. "We believe that a partnership between our two companies could be very beneficial."

I was intrigued by what he was saying. A partnership with his company could be a great opportunity for my company. But I was also a bit skeptical.

"What exactly do you have in mind, Mr. Oliver?" I asked.

"Well, Mr. Russell, we believe that by combining our resources and expertise, we could create a powerful new product that would be very successful in the market," Mr. Oliver said. "We have the manufacturing capabilities, and your company has the marketing know-how. Together, we could create something truly special."

He was making a compelling argument, and I was starting to see the potential of what he was proposing. But I still had some questions.

"What would the partnership look like?" I asked. "How would it work, and what would be expected of each company?"

Mr. Oliver smiled. "I'm glad you asked that question, Mr. Russell. I have a detailed proposal that outlines the terms of the partnership. May I share it with you?"

I nodded, and Mr. Oliver pulled a folder out of his briefcase and handed it to me. I opened it and began to read.

After an hour of discussion and negotiation, we had come to an agreement on the terms of the partnership. Mr. Oliver and I shook hands, and he stood up to leave.

"Thank you for your time, Mr. Russell," he said. "I look forward to working with you and your team."

"Thank you as well, Mr. Oliver," I replied. "I'm excited to see what we can accomplish together."
