Chapter 4: looting

After the discussion, Daro's stomach rumbled, reminding himself that on his rush to leave town this morning he hadn't eaten anything, everyone looked at him and for a second he seemed to be embarrassed by it. Adalia said that she had some food in the bus and was going to take it but Daro said he would do it himself since the bus was hard to walk across because of the dead bodies. He got back in and jumped across seats, finding a brown VL backpack that Adalia said she had. He also took both Yotome and Roberto bag and a few others since the other passengers most likely wouldn't need it. He left the bus and gave them to the others before sitting down and opening the now dead passengers bag. "Don't you feel any shame?" Hearing Yotome's voice, looking at him with a disgusted expression, "of what?" he retorted schavending the goods that he could use and quickly putting them on his backpack. "Stealing from them" Yotome sharply said, with an accusing and condescending tone, Daro was about to retort angrily when Adalia, seeing the situation escalating, intruded "is it not like they are gonna need it im right dear?Besides, this could be useful on our journey" she said, taking one of the bags and looking for useful items. Yotome still seemed to be a little angry but seeing that Adalia was right, she grunted but did not check any bags.

After gathering every usable thing within the passengers bag, and putting it all together on a blue hiking rucksack, he thought it was more appropriate since it had more space than his old backpack. Within the Rucksack there were three pairs of white medium size T Shirts, two pairs of jeans and underwear, as well as two extra pairs of socks. Two one liter water bottles were also included and a variety of snacks and chocolate bars. He also added to it some rope that he found on one of the backpacks and two of the little fire axes that the bus still had.

After this all was done, he remembered the strange icon that the infected he killed have, and he decided to check their bodies in hope for some answers. Upon closer analyzing the body of the now dead infected, he noticed the same two bars, one being the name and status of the person and the other being their inventory, checking on the inventory of every one of them, he found a combat knife on one of the boots of a male infected, and upon selecting it, the knife appeared on his hand. Upon remembering the "world download" that he saw seconds before it all began, he started suspecting that this might have become a game. But then he pondered the implications of that, could it be that their whole reality was just a simulation? Considering that even their current technology had the ability to create real life simulations could this be just another one?

Deciding that further pondering would achieve nothing he went back to his new formed "group" and after talking to them, they decided to just drive the bus to the next town, this achieved complaints from Yotome since the bus was still full of flesh, blood and guts. Eventually after some convincing from Adalia, she relented and joined in the bus with the others.
