chapter 0: prologue

Daro was a young teenager aged 16, he had a rough life since childhood, his dad was an alcoholic abusive person that did not work and spent each and every day lashing out at him for the littlest of things, he walked in front of the tv while he was watching a football game? A reason for a beating or to be shouted at, he grabbed a slightly warm beer from the cooler in the kitchen? Another beating, his life was miserable since he was young, and his mother had to keep working two jobs, just to make sure that they could afford to live. Because of his poor living conditions, he used to get bullied often at school, that is, until he lashed back, after breaking the nose of one of the bullies and eventually get expelled since the bully`s father was a well known politician, he eventually joined the local gang, a gang of violent troublemakers that would steal and commit violent crimes for the littlest of reasons. Daro wasn't bad in nature, but from a young age he learned that in life, it was the survival of the fittest and resolved himself to do whatever it takes to survive.

Two years passed like that, with him spending more and more time with these thugs, getting stronger and more agile, while fighting or running from police or rival gangs. One day after a very violent argument with his dad, he beat his dad into an inch of his life, lashing out all of the grievances and the suffering that his dad made him go through throughout his life, his mother, kept the side of his dad like she always done, and kicked him out of the house, he never felt so angry and upset before, because now, he was lonely, his gang was fun but it was only a mutual benefit partnership and he knew that once he stopped being useful, his gang would drop and possibly even murder him. Deciding to change his life, he used the money he had saved and booked a ticket to another state, named Brukovitch, and hopefully change his life for the better. He went into the hideout of the local thugs when he knew they were out and stole, all the cash they had there, which only amounted to three hundred crowns and a 9mm that was the one he used when on the run. Skillfully jumping the wall at the back of the hideout, he ran and took the first bus in view to leave the town, he knew that once they found out they would search for him, and therefore he needed to leave the town as soon as possible. Once the bus started moving, he took a deep profound breath that even he, didn't realise he was holding, he felt the pressure and the memories of the horrible place he lived slowly fading away from his broad shoulders, his deep black eyes that had long became cold and detached finally had a sparkle of light, as the bus slowly distanced itself from town. After thoroughly analyzing the passengers and double checking that no one that he remembered or anyone that could be connected to him was inside, he relaxed, the trust issues and paranoia that kept him awake for most of his life, slowly fading away as he inclined his seat backwards and after making sure that his gun was hidden beneath the Tshirt and tucked on his waist, and the bag in which few pairs of clothes were in was safe tightened on his back, he closed his eyes and the light around him faded.
