The Primordial

In a hidden space away from the known reality, a magestic being on a golden throne sat quietly while holding a large mag on one hand that she kept drinking from time to time. No one knew the contents, furthermore no one knew it's existence except it's brother.

On the other hand, Order was fiddling with something that kept emitting light every now and then. In her mind, she was creating the most perfect thing. Perfect in a sense that the siblings would never reach even if they trippled the time they had been around.

Soon enough, a dense golden lump of energy concentrated at a certain area not far from her. She stood up from her magestic throne and walked down near it. She circled it a few times deep in thought. Her creation was perfect to say the least, but you know, women. These creatures could always point out the flaws even if they are unnoticeable. And this was what Order was thinking.

With a smile, she raised her slender hand and a crackling sound was heard around her. The sound above wasn't threatening but if it was in the mortal realm, she was sure the vibrations alone would crush half of Chaos creations to dust. In the next moment, heavy and overwhelming bolts of lightning descended from nowhere.

The strikes were the sizes of worlds and seem to be the end of everything. At this moment, the veil of shadows shook vigorously threatening to fall. With all this happening, Order had no worries at all, what was at hand was more important than anything else right now. Just like how she discovered the veil of shadows, she was sure she could discover others just like it, or rather create one from her understanding.

The bolts of lightning pierced the lump of dazzling light and scorching sounds erupted from the reaction.

The bolts of lightning rained for what seemed an eternity and a second. They stopped after a bright blinding golden light was around the lamp of energy.

She walked towards the light and her silhouette disappeared. At the center, she surveyed her manifestation at a close range with a nod and a bright smile. Satisfied, she walked with the energy on her palm back to her throne.

"Don't be degested, you will one day know why I did what I did." She spoke softly to it as if it was concious. "That's for your own safety."

At last, Order peered through the mortal realm and briefly watched until her gaze fell on a certain world. She saw two middle aged farmers in a barren expanse of land.

In this space of land, there was only two settlements around. One was the farmers small hut surrounded by dying fields of crops that were so fragile even the most simplest of breeze could break them in two. The other was a dark castle on the highest peak of a mountain near them.

In the castle, Order could see a giant seated on a huge spiked throne. He was large but not oversized. He was rippling with muscles and his body was fit for war. She also discovered that the castle was adorned with bloody red carpets and its walls were numerous depiction of what the mortals referred to as worst nightmares.

There were illustrations of brutal killings of every race that there was on this world. And by the end, the giant was always seen as the one triumphant. His pale of a body covered with blood and a huge grin adorned his face.

Around his throne, there were countless spirits and monsters. These were the giant's servants.

Order peered through them and soon discovered their past. It was as easy as batting an eyelid for her.

Long ago, this place was packed with green splendid green farms and happy settlers. They were farmers who sold their produce on the nearest city for other necessities. But the most important thing, they were happy. Their children played around the vines and crops and helped out when they reached a certain age. Life was good until one day a castle emerged in the distance out of nowhere.

At first, they paid no heed of it until their children started disappearing one after another and never to be seen again. They wondered and soon enough discovered their trails. All of them led to the mountains and in the huge gates of the castle.

The brave ones went and tried get their kids back while the scared blamed their children for wandering in the nearest forest and getting eaten by animals. However, they soon realized an unsettling truth. All of those that went to the castle, they never returned.

These facts made people scared and the remaining children were placed inside their small houses day and night never to see the sun until they old enough. But soon discovered that those children kept on disappearing under strange circumstances.

Soon people started leaving with what they had little of remaining with them. They were afraid to wake up one day and find their partners gone, or worse themselves.

They had in mind that whatever was taking the children, would turn to them once it devoured all the children around. They couldn't wait for that.

Those that remained were the ones that were old enough to worry, their children were already grown up or they had chosen to live in the city and do other works than cultivating the land. And the last group, were those that had no children of their own. And this was where the middle aged couple fell.

They were married in their early twenties and moved to this area to start a family. However, wheels of fate played a trick on them and one miscarriage after the other followed, until they reached a time and forgo about ever having their own children. So as nearly all their neighbors left, they stayed behind to tend to the crops. Life had to go on.

When everything settled down, the remaining ones heaved a sigh of relief. It was once again peaceful and serene.

It wasn't long before another blow knocked them on their backs. The sun shine brightest everyday and the rain stopped abruptly. The fields started to wither and the rest left to the south in search of fertile lands. Only the couple remained behind and persevered hoping that one day the gods would be kinder to them and bless them with rains.

As Order watched, she pinpointed the root of the problem. The dark castle had interfered with the natural laws and caused a negative effect in the surrounding areas. She smiled as she saw the perfect opportunity.

"I have found for you the perfect home. You won't be anyone's in the future, however, that's for you to create. Be content in everything and work hard."

"I part with you here with this gift, I hope you won't disappoint me although I can stomach some. Go, now, and know that I'll be watching every step you take."

With that, Order blew into the energy and it disappeared from view.

...

The golden energy emerged in the mortal realm for a brief second before it headed towards the world that was in view. It didn't stop as it went to it's host and entered her through her nostrils.

A middle aged woman was collecting some herbs together with her husband when suddenly she contorted her face and touched her stomach. In an instant a familiar urge overtook her sensory receptors and she bent forward.

Bleeech! Ghhrrr!

She started vomiting the little contents that she had the night before.

"Wife, what's wrong?"

"Don't worry about me, same old thing. Just a little lightheaded..."

The husband looked worried for a second and he remembered the pain his wife went through on all her miscarriages.

"This is all my fault. Go back and lie down, I'll collect your favorite mushrooms and be back before you know it." He reassured with a weak smile on his face.

The wife knew that the mushrooms dried up long ago but wasn't feeling strong enough to pursuade him not to wonder looking for them.

"Don't try so hard, it will be over in a ween or so." She capped his cheeks and kissed him. "And don't stay out for long, it will start getting cold soon. We can't be sick at the same time."

"I'll be quick dear."

With that he watched until she reached their dwelling before he turned around to the nearest forest in search of the mushrooms. As he walked forward, he muttered with anticipation.

"I hope it would be different this time."

Not knowing that it was.
