Faction Wars

[Welcome to Day 3 of Phase One. At this time there have been over 1 billion factions made]

[At this time all survivors will be given 7 days to build or expand their Outpost before Regional Faction Wars start]

Upon reading the announcement, Zeke's expression quickly soured. Having traded his outpost, he was now unable to verify the function of the Summoning Gate.

Furthermore, upon receiving the announcement, Zeke felt a sense of urgency and had to expedite his plans to establish his Faction outpost at the SoFi Stadium.

Olivia turned towards Zeke and asked, "Zeke, what exactly are faction wars? You mentioned that we belong to a faction now. Can you provide more details?"

"Since I've traded away the outpost at the campus, I don't have any additional information at the moment. Our first order of business should be to capture a new outpost. However, before we do that, I want to make a quick stop at Luke's faction outpost to see if we can gather any intel," Zeke explained.

Following their conversation, Zeke prepared breakfast, packed their belongings, and set out towards the police station.

With Luke leading, the trio battled through hordes of zombies as they made their way through downtown Los Angeles. Despite the larger-than-usual numbers, they managed to level up along the way. With the Faction Wars set to start in just seven days, Zeke made a conscious effort to actively hunt down all zombies they encountered.

As they approached the police station, Zeke noticed that it was heavily fortified with walls and barriers. There were a few armed guards posted at various positions, watching for any potential threats and zombie attacks. Luke led them to the entrance where they were greeted by a man in police gear.

"Luke is that you? Who are these two with you?" he asked sternly, eyeing them suspiciously.

Zeke could hear the sound of guards laughing in the background, expressing their surprise at Luke's safe return.

"We're just survivors looking for a place to rest," Zeke said calmly, lying so he can try to gain more information.

Several of the guards were already casting lecherous glances at Olivia.

The guard looked them over and then nodded. "Alright, I'll let you in. But be warned, we don't take kindly to troublemakers."

They were escorted inside and led to a large room where a group of people were gathered. Zeke noticed that they all looked thin and tired, with many of them showing signs of malnutrition.

Zeke took advantage of the moment to gather further intel by offering food as a bribe to some of the members of the larger group.

From them, he discovered that after the apocalypse broke out, the prisoners who were inside the police station at the time joined forces with the police officers to eliminate the zombies.

Once the area was cleared, they began providing shelter for other survivors who had sought refuge in the building.

At that time, they were alerted to the mini-game, which resulted in a significant number of police officers losing their lives. After completing the mini-game and capturing the outpost, the chief police officer was ranked first and granted ownership of the outpost.

While some of the police officers wanted to lock up the prisoners again for safety concerns, the chief police officer opted to give them a chance due to their assistance during the mini-game.

However, during the night, one of the gang leaders rallied the other prisoners and attacked the sleeping police officers, resulting in their deaths. As a consequence, the outpost was transferred to the gang leader, who subsequently assumed control of the faction.

Zeke listened intently as the group member recounted the story of how the faction took over the police station. It seemed that the faction was initially led by a group of police officers, but after a mini-game that resulted in the death of some officers, a gang leader was able to take over the faction with the help of the other prisoners.

Zeke couldn't help but shake his head in disbelief. The game was becoming more and more complex with each passing day. It seemed that even the rules of the real world didn't apply in this new world.

At that moment, they were taken into one of the integration rooms by the upper management. Zeke noticed that they were all ogling Olivia as if she were a delectable treat they were about to consume.

Zeke introduced himself and Olivia and explained that they were just passing through. One of the leaders, a middle-aged man, approached them and asked about their skills.

"We're sorry, but we're barely surviving out there by hiding from the zombies. We were fortunate enough to come across Luke, who led us back here," Zeke lied to the small group while simultaneously using his inspect skill.

Upon discovering that the pair were low-level players, the group attempted to make a move and corner Zeke to exploit Olivia.

Zeke saw the group of three approaching them with hostile intentions. He calmly stepped in front of Olivia, ready to defend her if needed. The trio quickly realized their mistake as Zeke towered over them with a confident smile.

Without hesitation, the first attacker lunged forward with a knife in hand. Zeke easily sidestepped the clumsy attack and landed a swift punch to the man's gut, sending him crumpling to the ground in pain.

The second attacker tried to circle around to attack Olivia from behind, but Zeke was too quick. He delivered a powerful kick to the man's knee, sending him crashing to the ground. The third attacker hesitated for a moment, clearly intimidated by Zeke's display of skill.

Taking advantage of the hesitation, Zeke quickly closed the distance between them and delivered a swift elbow strike to the man's face, knocking him unconscious.

Meanwhile, Fang had been watching from the sidelines, ready to step in if needed. As the last attacker fell to the ground, Fang leaped forward and sank his teeth into the man's throat, effectively ending any threat from the small group.

Observing that Fang had dispatched the final attacker, Zeke swiftly snapped the necks of the remaining three.

Zeke dusted off his hands and turned to Olivia, a small grin on his face. "That wasn't so bad, was it?" he joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Following the altercation, Zeke proceeded to loot the group of four before leaving the integration room with the intention of locating the other prisoners and the faction leader.

As they entered the police officer's office, they were confronted with a gruesome sight: several men were encircled by semi-conscious, tormented women, with one man sitting behind the group.

Zeke used his inspect skill on the man that was behind the group.
