Christopher Stone's POV

"Mom why is everyone around me so selfish?? why's everyone expects me to act according to their needs?? dad wants me to marry someone for his business expansion, stepmother wants me to give up my inheritance,huhh.. recently I met a silly girl who's a little dumb, I thought she is pure and innocent .. but you know what mom..even she was involved in dad's plan, I really miss you, mom," I said sitting near my mom's grave, no one knows this place except for me and my father.

My father built her grave in this garden with jasmines and roses which are my mom's favorites, even though my father became a cold-hearted person now, I believe my mom is his only true love in his life, he was a different person back then but he forgot himself in the process of expanding his business, I wanted him to be with me when I needed him the most but he drowned himself in his business expansion so much that he forgot himself.

I have very few memories with my mom, I remember her playing with me in this garden when my dad was too busy to spend time with us, I remember her warm smile, her long brown hair, her pale complexion, her yummy cooking, why do Erika remind me of her so much??

I can't get her out of my mind since I saved her from the accident, whenever that silly girl is around with her weird sweet smile there is this warm feeling inside my heart, I have never experienced this feeling before, what's happening to me?? her sweet jasmine fragrance, her long hair, her beautiful eyes always in my mind since I first saw her, I think I am losing my mind.

I have been trying to avoid these feelings since she joined our team, I have been rude to her and insulted her so that these feelings would stop but whenever I see her big green eyes with tears, I regret it...I regret very much for saying those harsh words, there is this weird feeling in my heart like someone is squeezing it hard when I see her crying, I really have to get a grip otherwise I would totally screw up PROJECT042.

With that thought, I got up and said goodbye to mom and rode my bike towards my house, on the way I thought to ignore that silly girl completely, I know she must be doing something stupid at home but I should stay away from her I thought.

I have reached my house and parked my bike in the garage and went inside expecting her to greet me with that silly smile, but to my surprise, I didn't see her anywhere, she must be in her room, I will completely ignore her when she asks me to eat dinner I thought and went to my room, I took a hot shower and relaxed on my bed, for some reason I felt odd, why there isn't any sign of her ?? is she throwing a tantrum because of afternoon's episode??

I went down and checked the kitchen, there's no food, ok so definitely she is throwing a tantrum I thought and knocked on her door saying"See if you are throwing a tantrum I would advise you to drop it because you will be fired if I don't see you in 10minutes".

I have waited for 10 minutes but still no response, I have knocked again and said" I am opening the door and let me tell you... you are fired" I have opened the door but she is not there, what?? where is she?? it"s almost 11'0'clock, I have searched everywhere but I didn't see her anywhere.

Again that weird feeling like someone is squeezing my heart,grhh what's wrong with me?? I thought and called that idiot Richard and asked him to come to the Research center.

I don't know how I have reached but I have reached the research center in 10 minutes, Richard also reached and parked his car, I couldn't wait any longer so I told him to follow me to check the CCTV footage, while I was walking towards the security room Richard called me and showed Erika's vehicle, we both went to check why her vehicle is still here, maybe she is still in the laboratory, suddenly I felt happy with hope.

but when we checked the vehicle her pink cat printed bag and keys were scattered around, there were blood drops nearby, when I saw that sight suddenly something happened to me, I couldn't move or talk, Richard shook my shoulder and said something but I didn't hear anything, all I could see was her sweet smile disappearing from my sight.

I ran towards the security room and checked the footage, I saw her walking slowly towards her vehicle and collapsing near her vehicle, she was lying unconscious for an hour, then I saw Daniel entering the parking lot and walking towards her vehicle, he checked her and placed her in his car back seat and drove away, at first I felt relieved seeing her then I got angry with Daniel, where did he take her?? why didn't he inform me?? that idiot.

I immediately drove towards the staff quarters and entered the building, I couldn't just wait to get Erika back and beat the shit out of that idiot, I saw the receptionist wishing me, I didn't care about anything "Daniel's floor number??" I asked impatiently.

"Third-floor sir," she said nervously, I ran towards the elevator and pressed the number 3.

Katherine steel pov

its 1'o'clock now and Erika's fever went down a little and she is sleeping deeply, Daniel and I have been taking turns to stay with her, I have observed Erika closely while sitting beside her, she is really a delicate girl I must say, I don't understand how she got herself into this job, she is not fit for fieldwork at all.

she seems like a nice girl, seeing her like this really upset me, what's wrong with Christopher ?? why he is giving Erika a hard time?? she is just an innocent kid, I really don't understand what's going on with him these days, I must speak to him once Erika recovers, while I was thinking all this I saw daniel entering inside the guest room.

"how's she Ms.Steele?? why she isn't waking up??" he asked me worriedly, how can a person like Daniel exist in this crazy world, he is too good and kind, I wish I had a person like him in my life I thought.

"umm..her fever went down, she will be ok by tomorrow," I told and got up, he immediately sat beside her and checked her temperature, suddenly we heard a loud knocking and we looked at each other with surprise.

"who's knocking like that at this hour??" I asked him at which he shrugged and said" no idea, you stay here I will go and check "with that he went to the living room.

while I was checking Erika's temperature I heard loud voices from the living room and I rushed outside to see Christopher holding Daniels's collar and punching him hard, he stopped punching after seeing me.

"What happened here?? why are you punching him??" I asked Christopher worriedly at which he looked away wiping his sweat on his forehead and asked"where is Erika??" not bothering to answer my question.

"She is inside, she is wounded and having fever, don't disturb her," I told him a little angrily and went to check Daniel.

Surprisingly, Daniel stopped Christopher from going inside and said"I don't think it's a good idea, sir, I can't allow you inside" I must say he is really brave to talk to Christopher like that.

"And who the f*** are you to stop me" Christopher yelled at Daniel like a mad man, I am really scared for Daniel's life now.

"Aren't you the reason for her condition now sir, do you have any idea what would have happened to her if I didn't find her in time?? she is your assistant, not your slave, I can't let you treat her like this" Daniel said without any fear, this guy is a real gem I must say, for the first time I saw Christopher becoming silent instead of getting angry, but if I don't interfere now this Daniel would be dead in a few minutes.

"Chris...Daniel ...both of you calm down, you don't wanna disturb Erika right!! there's a sick person inside please stop fighting now" I said, with that, both of them stopped and looked at me.

Christopher went inside to check Erika, Daniel was about to say something but I stopped him and said"Calm down Daniel, I know that you care about her, but this not the time for all this" he sighed and looked down without saying anything.

Christopher came out with Erika in his arms and said"thank you guys for taking care of her" with that he left with Erika in his arms leaving both of us.

"Ms. Steele I am not sure that we should let her live with Mr.Stone, what if he ill-treats her again??" he asked me with a worried look on his face, I must say he is really acting like a big brother who's concerned about his little sister, these two are really adorable.

"Don't worry Daniel, Chris is not a bad person, he is a little hot-tempered, I am sure he won't hurt her"I assured him at which he nodded his head hesitantly.

"umm..ok then I will leave now, see you tomorrow," I said at which he looked at me in a way like he wanted to tell me something, I stood there for a minute but the silence was too awkward so I left his place and came outside.

"ok ..that was awkward, was he trying to say something to me??" I thought but started walking towards the elevator without thinking much.

when I reached downstairs I saw Christopher carefully adjusting Erika's hair while she was beside him still unconscious, ok this is new...Chris never cared about any girl like this before, so that was the reason he reacted like that before at Daniel's apartment huh...

Erika is a sweet girl, I am sure Chris would be happy with her but I am not sure about his father, he might not want a normal girl to hang around his precious son, he may create problems for Erika I thought and started walking towards my apartment building and saw caroline king observing both of them angrily from a distance, oh no...this is not good.
