The Beginning

I wasn't born with wings, this was the result of a corrupt government that wanted to improve their citizens. Or so they said.

The people chosen for their trial "miracle drug" were already on the verge of dying.

My story was similar to many others, we were airlifted from our military hospitals and told that there was an experimental drug that could save our lives.

While others were just regular citizens that they graced with their influential power to conduct their experiments on. Specifically, they prayed upon those who couldn't afford the steep medical bills and were dying in different hospitals from various illnesses.

The only thing that was different from me to the other soldiers and citizens, was that after the drug had been administered, I was the only one who grew wings.

The first few months were absolute hell. Considering I had gone through special training for various torture methods working as an undercover agent, the trainings and real life POW torture were nothing.

Growing these wings from hell wasn't part of the agreement I made when they told me about the drug.

They told me I was simply an outlier and that I was lucky to be alive, so I shouldn't be complaining.

Of course they kept me alive simply to conduct experiments and see how far they could take this "outlier".

I was only 20 at the time.

When I agreed to serve my country, this wasn't what I planned. If I had known before what was to come, I would have chosen to die.

At a 90% success rate, almost everyone who was given the "miracle drug" survived. However, there was a 50% success rate of turning a person into an abnormal. In other words, a militant weapon.

Abnormal people were people who unlocked an ability thanks to the stimulants of the drug. Some people survived and some people became weapons.

The ability with each person varies. It was discovered after long months of research and experiments that each person with an ability had unique ancestral genes that had been passed down with their talents. At least that was the governments theory.

If someone down their ancestral line was an herbalist, then they can create different substances or smoke that emits from their skin to subdue anyone who crosses their path.

If someone had a welder or blacksmith in their family history, they tend to have elemental control of either fire, metal or earth.

If someone happened to be a powerful person in control or a strong business owner, they have the ability to either control minds or super strength.

It gave new meaning to "it's in my blood". There are thousands of different people with different abilities.

As for me, I don't know what the hell my ancestors were in order for me to have black wings.
