Chapter 10 The Creators Library

I stepped into the library, and heard the door slam shut behind me. "I guess I'm on my own in here then." I said to myself.

I approached the Librarians desk and took note of several things. The librarian was an absolutely huge guy. He must have been over 8 feet tall, but otherwise he looked quite normal. Except for his left arm which was blackened and twisted looking.

He looked up from a book he was reading and said in a deep voice. "Yes?", "I'm err looking for Alexander. Do you know where he is?"

The Librarian lowered his book. "Let's see he went to look up bird demons. That's in special collections, floor -12, hall 5, room 53, row 32, shelf 4." I was extremely confused by these directions and asked him to write them down.

He wrote down the directions then pointed me towards special collections and told me. "Don't read anything in special collections. There are some things in there that most people were never meant to know."

I nodded and walked into special collections. I was in a circular room with a large hole in the center surrounded by guard rails allowing one to look down. I gasped as I looked up and down. Above me there were floor upon floors. So many that I might have been able to walk up for days or weeks and would be nowhere near the top.

I went down floor by floor. Each one was identical with many doors throughout the circular area. I reached the -12th floor and looked through the doors until I found the door with the number five above it.

I opened the door and found myself in an insanely long stretch of hallway. Which was lined with door after door. I was amazed by the fact that each door on every floor had a hallway like this.

I walked for several minutes before I found room 53. I opened the door and entered a cavernous room with hundreds or even thousands of bookshelves lined up each reaching almost 50 feet to the ceiling. I was amazed this place was truly massive.

I looked along each shelf row was numbered . I ran until I reached row 32. I turned the corner and nearly ran into Alexander who was reading through several books.

"Oh Alexander.", "Thomas what are you doing here?" Alexander asked as he snapped another book shut and pulled another one.

"I came here to help you search through the books." I said. "Did you now? Well sorry to waste your time I just found it." He snapped shut a book labeled Titus Abraxtus's Demononic Lexicon.

"Let's go, I need to check out these books." He said as he scooped up several books.

We walked in silence for several minutes until we made it to the front desk. "I want to check these books out." Alexander said forking over the books. "Hmm I see. Well bring them back when you're done." the librarian said.

We left the library and ended up back in Sophia's room.

Hector ran over to us. "Guys what's it like in there?", "It's huge to say the least." I said. "Wow" was Hector's response.

"Alright we have a lot to discuss." Alexander said dumping the books on the bed Alyss was sitting on. I read the titles of the books "Titus Abraxtus's Demonic Lexicon, Titus Abraxtus's Spirit guide, Titus Abraxtus's Monster Index Vol 5, Titus Abraxtus's Guide to Traversing The Underworlds."

"Are you a fan of Titus Abraxtus then?" Alyss asked Alexander. "Not exactly but he's travelled the universes alot and has made a lot of guides. It's strange you'd think one of us champions would have run into him at some point, but even the akumas haven't run into him before.

"Really?" Sophia said, sounding surprised. "Yeah, well understand they haven't tried too hard to find him exactly. He never hurts anyone in his travels, and never bothers them. I believe your aunt Natalie has been trying to coax him into coming here, but it seems he's the kind of man who if he doesn't want to be found he can't be."

"So what did you find then?" Hector said. "I found bits and pieces of information that I had to piece together into something coherent." Alexander said, picking up the demonic lexicon. "Well let's hear it then." Sophia said leaning back.

The Fearsome bird demon is named as such due to its appearance as a strange half bird half man. They have a talent of lighting magic and runes, and serve as the elite soldiers of demon kings and overlords in Underworld 55.

Alexander finished reading and Hector said excitedly "Ohh Underworld 55 thats where it said the last bird demon the one you didn't kill was.", "Yes I found some information on underworld 55 as well in the spirit guide, and guide to traversing the underworlds. The spirit guide says

Underworld 55 is a nexus for spiritual activity due to the high levels of Psychokinetic Energy generated by demons. The capital city of Inferis is particularly dense in PK energy.

"And as for the guide to traversing the underworlds there is an entire chapter dedicated to underworld 55." Alexander concluded.

We spent the rest of the day musing over the things we had learned. Hector seemingly very entranced began to read the copy of Titus Abraxtus's Demonic Lexicon.

That night we all ate dinner in Sophia's room. I had such a good time laughing and joking around with the others that I almost forgot about the last 2 days. I went to sleep that night full and tired. I fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I was awoken in the night as I heard someone whisper my name in my ear. "Thomas." My eyes shot open and I turned my head. It was a woman with black hair and icy blue eyes. There was something disturbing yet familiar about her.

"Come with me." she said in a whisper then seemed to melt into the shadows of the open doorway. I stood up in an almost trance like way and started to head in her direction.

I was led by her voice out of the house and into the field near the lake. She was standing at the water's edge. She smiled at me in a kind of sad way. "Who are you?" I asked, not really thinking about what I was saying.

"My name is Leviathan, and I'm going to help you learn your powers.."
