“Skills and Titles and Stats, Oh My!”

Lukas stared in disbelief at the window before his eyes. 'Does this mean I can grow stronger in real life too? Doesn't this mean that if I keep doing these daily quests then I can become an all-star athlete or something… No, then people would start questioning how I became so strong and then I'd probably be pulled into some lab. I have to keep this a secret from everyone. First, though. Let's make sure it's actually real.' Lukas entered his apartment building and headed up to his apartment. 'What can I use to judge this?'

He looked at his stats carefully. 'Well, I guess the most obvious one would be strength. Pick something up, put it down. Pretty simple to judge. So, I have ten extra stat points to use. How about I put two in strength and see if it changes anything?' Lukas walked over to his bed and decided to use that as his "weight." He grabbed the end of it and lifted. Though it wasn't super heavy, he did struggle a bit to lift the whole bottom of the bed. He had one of those bed frames with the drawers in the bottom, so the overall weight was probably about 100-120 lbs, and he felt every bit of it. "Gods, I'm out of shape." He said lightly and chuckled. 'Well, if the system has anything to say about it I won't be for long.' He laughed a bit more at his fortunate circumstances before pulling up his stat window once again.

[Stats]

Strength: 10

Stamina: 10

Agility: 10

Intelligence: 10

Perception: 10

Stat points available: 5

{AN: Changed Daily Quest Rewards to 5, because 10 is the Lvl up stat gain.}

[Bonus Stats]

Luck: 5

'So, Strength is obvious. Stamina I'm guessing is physical stamina like my health and how long I can exert myself. Agility is probably how quickly I can move. I feel like it's relative though, like how quickly I can dodge and also how quickly I can move in a straight line will be affected. Intelligence is one of those tricky ones. I know it's gonna affect my total mana… speaking of which, why the hell do I have one of those in real life….? You know what, I'll deal with that when I get to it, back to intelligence. I think it may help out with deductive reasoning, and it may help me learn.

things faster. So, probably just increasing my IQ, but I doubt it'll just make me know things. Perception is like what I can visually see and recognize. As of right now where it's at when a hummingbird is flying near me, I can't see it's wings flapping, but as I upgrade this, I'll eventually be able to see the wings moving. It has an amazing synergy with Agility, being able to see an opponent's move is awesome, but if you're not quick enough to dodge it, it's useless.'

Lukas sighed and put his hands on his hips. 'Well, here goes nothing I guess.' He mentally pressed the plus symbol flashing next to his strength stat, twice. After doing so, he walked over to his bed. 'I hope it does something.' He squatted down, placed his hands under the bed from and stood up. 'Holy fuck it's real!' He laughed as he set his bed back down. 'I could physically tell the difference! Wait a sec, does this mean I could become infinitely stronger in real life. That's crazy! Maybe one day I'll learn a skill that'll allow me to fly and I'll be like Superman.' He chuckled at the thought.

'So, I know the stats work. What about this skill down here…' he looked at the bottom of his status page to see one active skill in his repertoire. He thought about the skill and it brought up the skill info.

[Active Skill]

Dash Lv.1

{AN: Changed skill name from Sprint to Dash. It's more fitting for what the skill does}

Increase speed 300% for 30 seconds.

Cost to activate: 10 MP

CD: 3 minutes

'It's a simple movement skill I suppose. But, isn't 300% kind of insane. If I run a mile in 6 minutes, wouldn't that mean that I could run it in 1.5 minutes if this skill was activated the entire time. That's ridiculous. Well, I guess I gotta go back outside to try this.' Lukas sighed softly and grabbed his keys before heading down to the street again. 'Probably shouldn't do this in front of everyone. If they see me running close to 60 mph, at a dead sprint, they'll freak out. Let's go down to the waterway where me and the guys used to hang out when we were kids. There's usually no one down there.'

Lukas started walking towards the waterway. It was only a few miles away, so he thought it would be a nice way to build his stamina the natural way instead of investing his precious stat points. Lukas got to the waterway in about 45 minutes and climbed down the ladder to the walkway next to the river. 'Cool, no one is down here. Time to test and see if this skill works or not. I should probably sprint for like a minute, and then use the skill to get back to see the difference.' Lukas looked down the walkway, got into the position he saw all the sprinters on TV get into before they ran, and counted down from 3 in his head before he took off. He sprinted with all he had and by the time a minutepassed he had gone about a quarter of a mile down the walkway. He stood straight up at the end and put his arms above his head to catch his breath. 'I guess strength affects the strength in my legs too, cause I felt myself running faster than I ever have already.' Once Lukas caught his breath, and got back into position. He counted down from 3 in his head and as soon as he said go in his head he also thought

'Activate Dash'

Within the first few seconds Lukas already knew that the skill worked, he felt himself moving exponentially faster than he had before. After about 15 seconds he passed the ladder that he used to get down, and he kept running till the end of the 30 seconds. He looked behind him and saw the ladder was about the same distance from him as it was on the other side. 'I just covered twice the distance in half the time. That's insane.' He also didn't feel any more fatigued than when he had been sprinting for 30 seconds, meaning the dash skill didn't put any excess strain on his body. 'Come to think of it… that didn't really feel like I was running, and it only felt like I touched the ground a few times that entire way. Hrm. Interesting. I wonder if it works non-linearly. Could I dash around in different directions, like around an attacker or something?' Lukas checked The CD of [Dash] and he had about a minute left.

'I'm not gonna be able to try that out here. So, I guess I'll wait till sundown and go try it at the park or something.' Lukas looked back at his stats. 'What's this title about?'

[Title]

The System's Avatar

Effect:

Gain 300% extra experience.

+20 extra stat points per Lvl Up.

"No fucking way…"
