Chapter 3

Glancing at the ceiling, Kelly wondered if he should hang around to make sure everything was truly okay with Simon, or if he should just lock the door and pull it shut behind him. A thread of worry knotted his gut. He walked back up the stairs to the darkened bedroom and stood listening to the sounds of Simon breathing. Relatively even and slow, was it too slow? Kelly bent down and inhaled the scent of the other man, a scant inch from Simon’s throat. The harsh note of tension and pain was fading, being slowly replaced by the slack warmth of sleep. It was all Kelly could do not to bury his face against the other man’s skin and just drink in the professor’s smell. He forced himself to straighten up and leave the room.
