Lucinda

I kneel in the darkness surrounding me. I can't explain this feeling, like ice crashing over my body again and again. The only light is coming from an unknown source around me.

The only thing I can hear is my faint breathing. The steady heart beat that's pounding, echoing loudly in the corners of my own mind.

"Lucinda Novah Peirce" A voice echoed. I looked up, locking eyes on a woman. She's wearing a long golden cloak, the only thing revealed under it are the slits in her shoulder, revealing the pale skin that is similar to the pale skin revealed under the cloaked darkness of her hood.

"Who are you" I whispered. My voice sounds dead, devoid of emotion. Similar to how numb my body feels.

"I am an old friend" She answered, walking closer to me.

"Your friends need you" She started. I shook my head, pain filling my emotions, starting to make my eyes burn with unshed tear.

" I have no friends! " I cried, my voice trembling. I laughed, feeling a slight inch of darkness. Of bitterness fill my soul.

"Tell that to the man who saved your life" The woman countered. I laughed, glaring up into her darkness covered eyes.

"He has ulterior motives. They always do! " I roared, feeling a tear slip down my cheek.

"That wasn't what you thought with Christopher. " She murmured. I tensed, feeling hatred boil in my bones, along with a longing. A longing to remember.

"You don't remember him. But I do. I remember ever smile. The glint in his eyes, that were so beautiful. And entrancing silver green" She kneeled down by me, her blood red lips twitching up in a smirk.

"Silver green eyes? " I asked, my voice cracking. She nodded.

"The man you once layed in bed with is here. With you" She started cautiously, her hand reaching for mine.

"I need you to remember. The world needs you to remember. " She finished. I shook my head turning away.

"The world doesn't need me" I murmured.

"He doesn't need me" I added, letting the tears fall, looking down.

"You are dying Lucinda. We are dying. The only thing keeping you alive is that boy. The one who spent money on you. Who, although was very rude to you, he made you happy. " She looked down.

"What do you mean. I've never been happy. People like me are never happy" I cried, feeling my voice break.

"You were happy Lucinda. And you can be again" A loud boom sounds through the contents of my mind, causing me to cover my ears. Before I could cry out the woman stumbles, falling to her knees.

"Lucinda Please! " The woman cried. I shook my head, avoiding glancing at her face.

"We are dying. We have One chance to live before we bleed out. " She screamed, gripping my wrist.

"What do you mean, we" I demanded. She let out a soft breath before pulling her hood off revealing...

I sucked in a breath as I locked eyes with myself. Long black hair falling to the middle of her back, her green eyes glowing.

"See this? " She demanded, pulling her cloak down a little bit to reveal a burn mark on her chest. I nodded, confusion filling me.

"Yes" I answered, calming my breathing.

"Father tried something on us, involving a orb, similar to our mother's. You need it" She started. She touched my hand, golden light glowing in her palm as she transferred that light to me.

"Darkness cannot be fought with darkness. Only light can burn it away. And it's that light our mom never had. " She closed her eyes, her body glowing gold,

"From now on, me and you are one. My memories are your memories. My strength is your strength. My knowledge is yours. " She let out a deep breath, looking at me.

"I am a part of you. A broken pieces of our mother's soul that was lodged in you from the day you were born. I am that last ember she gave up. " She closed her eyes, letting a tear fall.

"You will remember everything in due time. Just remember. " Her smile turned sad, before her features shifted, turning into a woman with short golden hair and light blue eyes, tears filling them.

"I am so proud of you. Finish what I've started. Right my wrongs. Save the world from the man I created. And always remember. " She cupped my cheek as she starts to glow brighter.

"I will always love you daughter. And I'm so proud of you" She kissed my forehead before glowing brighter than my eyes could process and soaking into my skin. I looked down at myself, then slowly, I took a step up. One after another, I took a step into the darkness. Then I closed my eyes, feeling them burn behind me yelids as everything started to glow white.

Archer

I sat in a chair, feeling her limo hand in mine. Hours of her convulsing, screaming and crying, watching the woman I thought to be so strong look so broken, was enough of a break check for me.

I stood toe to toe with a man who nearly killed this woman. Who almost killed me, and who left Evelyn in a coma.

I bowed my head. What happened back there wasn't natural. He called me a werewolf? But I'm far from it.

Lucinda gasped, sitting up in a panic, clenching my hand in a bone crushing grip.

"Lionheart, Lionheart I'm here" I murmured. She looked at me, tears filling her dark green eyes.

"Archer" She whispered, her lip trembling as a tear fell down her cheek. I looked down, before moving over to the bed and opening my arms. She moved into them, letting me hug her as she cried into my shoulder blade, sobbing with pain.

"It hurts... Everything hurts" She murmured against my shoulder blade. I rubbed her back, feeling a spark of butterflies fill my gut.

"I know... I had to inject you with a syrum that brought you back" I answered. I laid my chin down on her head, feeling a tear streak my cheek.

"You were dead. For moments until I injected you, you were dead. Then after, you kept having seizures." I explained, feeling my heart pound.

"I've been dead before" She answered, almost blurted. I looked down at her, my eyes locking into her dark green ones.

"How do you know that? " I asked, feeling butterflies flutter in my chest more intensely at the glance of her eyes.

"I remember it arch... Faintly, but I remember" She answered. I stared at her in awe as she leaned back against my chest, closing her eyes as she layed in my arms. Slowly I closed my eyes, letting myself feel happy, if only for one time.
