Evelyn

I sit up from my bed, looking around the room I slept in. The walls are a dark blue, swords and daggers the only things on the wall. The neat design of the room speaks to the owners room. I shrugged, standing and stretching my shoulders as I move towards the door.

"Archer? " I called. I walked out the door, heading down the wooden tiled floor, My eyes observing the deep blue of the walls that were not covered in anything.

"Archer, Where are you! " I called, bristling at the off silence. I look at the stairs that circled around again and again as they went downstairs, leading to another floor of wooden tile and more blank blue walls.

"Archer! " I cried, taking a step down the stairs. Still, there was nothing but silence and the loud thud of my foot steps. Slowly, I approached the kitchen, fear crawling up my spine, sending my hand to my hip, to where my swords always been. To find nothing.

I turned, looking into the kitchen. My eyes caught sight of Archer, standing over the stove shirtless, completely concentrated on cooking.

I learned out a sigh, hugging him tightly and closing my eyes, trying to relax my racing heart from the fear I felt.

"Lionheart? " Archer asked, turning off the stove and turning to face me. I stared up into his dark blue eyes, which were filled with concern.

"I-im sorry, i-i don't know what got I to me... " I tensed up as he hugged me back, his thick arms wrapping around me and holding me against him. I sucked in a breath, leaning in closer to his warmth, and the comfort of my arms.

"You've been having nightmares.. " He answered me. I glanced up at him, my eyes widening with surprise.

"W-what" I asked, my eyes scanning his.

"Something about someone close to you dying. " He filled in, pulling me close again.

"I don't want to lose you.. " I whispered, feeling the tears in my eyes fall down my cheeks. He chuckled, his arms tightening around me as he layed his chin on my forehead, a small smile on his lips.

"You won't lose me.. " He murmured, leaning back a little bit to look into my eyes.

"You can never lose me" He finished, pulling me against him again. I closed my eyes, enjoying the feel of being in his arms.

"Are you hungry" He asked, a small smile playing on his lips. I nodded, laughing softly.

"What's that" He teased, stepping back, a grin on his face.

"I'mhungry" I mumbled, looking down, a smile growing on my face. He grinned.

"I can't hear you" He exclaimed, smiling at me. I laughed.

"I'm hungry you big buffoon now get me good before I rip your face off" I muttered, smiling like a mad woman as I looked down. He smiled, pinching my cheek and leaning closer to me, causing my heart to race.

"Coming right up" He whispered in my ear, causing a shiver to climb up my spine. I nodded, turning away and sitting down at the table, watching his toned back flex as he moved around the kitchen.

I looked down, blushing furiously. I hugged him. He's shirtless. He has abs!!! Oh my god!!! What do I do? How do I move! What do I do with my life!!!! Ahhhh!!!!

I looked up to see Archer laughing at me, his eyes locked on my face intensely as he laughs .

"Why we're you watching me argue with myself mentally. " I asked, still blushing.

"Because I was about to serve your food and uh" He blushed, scratching his neck and clearing his throat, " You're cute when you blush " He announces before sliding a plate of eggs and bacon over to me, sitting down at his own spot at the table

"Thank you, Its so good" I murmured, smiling at him. He nodded, smiling softly before looking back down. I frowned, barely noticing how he's barely eating.

"What's wrong" I asked, pushing my player away. I leaned forward, putting my chin on my hands. He sighed, sitting up.

"There's been a girl" He started, and instantly I flushed, jealousy for no reason filling me.

"Oh someone's jealous" He teased slightly. I shrugged.

"She's been a child hood friend. I met her when I was around four years old. In a library. She was always reading and trying to learn. While I.... I was always pushed by my father to either become a Baron, s leader of a Village, town or city, or the Personal Guard of one. After an event happened I left my home, This friend leaving a few days after me. Eventually we ended up here. In the same village. Anyways. When I was attacked at the Guard Station, I found her, almost dead. And when I heard you getting hurt... I fought it so hard. And I was forced with a choice. " He closed his eyes, taking a shaky breath that made me want to comfort him. But knowing there was nothing I could do, I just sat there.

"Either you or her. Let you die, or let her die. And.. " A tear streamed down his face.

"I chose you. And now she's in a coma. Barely alive. And no healing magics have worked. Healers from all over the region have came and tried, yet to no avail. I dont know what to do" I stood up as a tear fell down his cheek. Slowly I approached him, hugging him softly.

"I'm so sorry" I whispered. He shook his head, hugging me back.

"She's my best friend. My only friend besides you. " He looked up at me, his eyes darkening.

"And she might die. " He finished. I stepped back, watching as he stood.

"Archer.. " I started, but shut up as he walked up the stairs. Understanding he needed alone time, I left him be. I closed my eyes.

   "I have to try"

Lucinda stepped into the hospital room, her eyes scanning the shelves of sharp needles and medical supplies. Her eyes observing every detail.

"There you are" She murmured as she caught sight of Evelyn. She stepped up by Evelyn, grabbing her pale hand and kneeling down.

"You're so beautiful... " She felt a tear fall. From the door, Archer watched, his eyes wide as he stared at Lucinda.

"You don't deserve to die" Lucinda finished. She closed her eyes, channeling energy deep down. Slowly, her palms started to glow, a white light glowing from Lucinda body. Archers jaw dropped, his eyes wide as Wings of fire burst from her back.

Lucindas back arched, the wings burning through the air, even brighter than the glowing white light emanating from her. Then, the light faded, her wings disappeared.

"Huh?? W-where am I? " A small voice asked. Evelyn's teil blue eyes opening slightly. Lucinda smiled, touching Evelyn's cheek.

"Rest. You need it" Lucinda murmured. Evelyn nodded, before slowly going back to sleep.

Lucinda turned, her eyes locking on Archers wife blue ones.

"Archer? " She asked, before collapsing.
