They will find a way to obtain the twenty-one Shades, if they have not already, and as much as we all hate it—hate ourselves for it—we know it is far too easy to make off with twenty-one children and twenty-one women to break the seals of birth and air. Now we must concentrate on making certain the Entrance is not opened. Luckily, there are restrictions enough that we stand some chance, but it will not be easy or without cost." Her gaze shifted to Alrin and rested there.

Alrin wished that he could have said he was surprised, but everything the Legion did was difficult and came with a high cost. He only wondered how exactly he was going to die. "What must we do?"
