Chapter 191: Rest

Present Day

The chiming of the bells dragged Telmé from sleep once more, and he grunted sleepily as they finished ringing out the Hour of Shadows. He hated the dark hours, where it seemed like light may or may not yet return to the world. The Princes of the Blood were strongest in the dark, but what little human remained in him had no love for it.

He sat up in bed, flicked his fingers to stir the witchlight hovering above it, and looked down at his sleeping husband where he still lay far too still. "Wake up," he murmured. "Or die. Only tell me where I am supposed to follow you so I do not linger here lost."

Korin gave no reply. Telmé sighed and climbed out of bed, wandering over to the far corner to avail himself of the chamber pot and wash basin.
