Jun meets Somi part-3

Realizing that it wasn't her place to judge them, she quickly threw the thought away and continued, "He was worried about the evaluation, all the morning. I apologize for the trouble he caused."

Jun waved his hands in response. "It's alright. We got it covered. When he wakes, please tell him to not worry. We will pass the evaluations for sure…"

Eun Song smiled and gestured them to take the seat.

While Jun walked towards her, Somi, on the other went towards the boy and took the chart that was hanging at the end of the bed. Looking at it, she then stepped forward and adjusting the saline flow.

The sister was taken aback by her action.

"Um… Miss…" Just as she was about to ask her, Jun interrupted, "EunSong-ssi, she's a doctor, working in this hospital. Don't worry about it. She knows what she was doing."

"Eh? Doctor?" She looked at him and then at her. She was stunned to hear it.

Seeing how beautiful she looked, EunSong thought she was like Jun and Yeongue but didn't expect that she's a doctor.

She apologized again, this time to Somi for misunderstanding the situation.

After confirming that he was fine and just need a couple of days' rest, Jun didn't stay long and left the room. Somi followed him.

Both of them left the hospital, right away.

Unknown to them, they were spotted by her fellow interns. Thankfully, Jun was wearing a face mask and they only saw his back. The rich and handsome intern, who was trying to woo her, frowned as he watched it.

Twenty minutes later, they entered a restaurant. At first, they wanted to take a café but thinking that Somi was hungry, he suggested the restaurant indirectly by telling her that he had an hour to spare.

She didn't say no to it either… For her, the more time they get to spend, the more it is better.

Like this, Jun ended up eating lunch for the second time.

"Are you really gonna be okay with a person missing? Your evaluation is tomorrow, isn't it?"

Jun found her tone filled with concern. Looking at her worried expression, his heart raced once again. This kind of feeling made him heavily uncomfortable.

If it was anyone, Jun will remind himself about his goals and then brush it aside but the fact that this girl is close to him, or rather the one who was dead, made him strongly reject her in his head over and over…

He put down the chopsticks and called her, "Jeon Somi-ssi…"

She flinched by his sudden change of tone. She saw Jun's face was serious. Somi wondered what's wrong with him.

"I want to tell you something important. However, before that, let me confirm a simple fact. I need you to answer me honestly without hiding anything," Jun appeared serious.

She nodded in response.

Jun asked. "Are we just friends or more than just friends? You know like a couple?"

She blinked twice before nodding. Although she was surprised about his change of expression, she still expected him to ask her about their past. After all, who wouldn't want to learn about their missing memories…

In fact, she was even looking forward to this question. She replied, "Yes. We started dating when you were a middle school freshman and I was a senior at the nearby school. So, we have been a couple around for like 7 years?"

It was Jun's turn to get shocked. He asked, "We never broke up?"

"Well…" Somi suddenly hesitated for a while before speaking up, "We first broke up once after ten months of the relationship. It was kinda hard for me, back then with exams and all.

After that, we got back together in the summer and then, broke up after another 16 months. This time, you broke up with me when you are selected for pre-debut.

You told me that your CEO is the one that ordered you to do. I had no choice but to let you go.

But then, three weeks later, you came for me. We continued dating for a couple of months before you met with an accident, one day. I was waiting for you to wake up."

As she continued to tell their history, her eyes welled up, "Every day, I kept checking my phone for your call. Whenever I had time, I used to go to the hospital and check up on you but…"

Her eyes became red as she started to cry. Thankfully, there are no customers, or else, Jun would have been embarrassed to stay there. However, it didn't go unnoticed either.

The owner who was sitting nearby the counter was watching them.

"Thankfully, you woke up…" She finished the sentence while wiping off her tears with her hanky.

She looked at him and smiled once again while apologizing, "I'm sorry. I don't want to but…" Her tears once again started to flow, "I'm just happy."

Looking at her, Jun was stumped. Now, he didn't know how to tell her.

If they were already broke up when he met with an accident, sure, he would have told her about how he wanted to concentrate on his career. But, now, after hearing everything, he wasn't able to tell her to leave him alone.

Moreover, as a third party, he also pitied her. The fact that Somi said they were in a relationship for 7 years also indicated that she waited for her lover who is in vegetative state for years.

Hesitation filled his face and he swallowed all those cold harsh words he wanted to say to her. But he also knew that he cannot mislead her into thinking that he was ready to continue his relationship with her.

After thinking for a while, Jun opened his mouth, "Somi-ssi…"

"Eh?" Somi was once again taken aback. Usually, he calls her either Noona or Sunbae… It was the first time, he addressed her this way.

Jun continued to speak, "I'll be honest with you. You know that I don't have memories of you, right?"

Somi nodded in response.

"The doctors said that due to the damaged part, I don't know its name… anyway, the point is that there's a very low chance of memory recovery.

If we continue being in a relationship just because we are in one in the past, we will only suffer. And I will only feel guilty for not able to reciprocate the feelings you had for me. It will only make me uncomfortable."

Taking a deep breath, he continued while staring into her eyes, "That's why I want you to forget the fact that we were once a couple and start a new relationship as friends."

Somi suddenly felt this new Jun was vastly different from her past immature Jun who was susceptible to emotions very much.
