An unexpected teammate

8:33 A.M., 6th Jan 2018;

A man suddenly entered the A-Block from the central block and gave a huge surprise to Jun and others who were summoned to the living room with an announcement from the speakers.

"Annyeonghaseyo," Jun hurriedly stood up and greeted him with a bow along with the others.

It was none other than JYP.

It was the first time Jun met him outside the evaluation time. Not just Jun, the others are didn't expect JYP's appearance. Except for Vernon who used to be in JYP's team before, none of them met him like this either.

As soon as the greetings are over, JYP asked, "Who is the dorm leader?"

Jun raised his hand, "Me."

JYP wasn't surprised by it and continued to ask, "How many tasks were finished?"

"Except for the final about playing games, all the others are finished," Jun answered him truthfully.

JYP nodded, "that's good. So, who is volunteering for the mixed-duo challenge?"

Everyone glanced at Jun while he spoke, "I am."

"I see. What about your timetable? Bring it to me." JYP then took his seat. The others followed the suit as he told them to sit down too.

As it was already written inside a notepad, Jun didn't bother to go to the first floor and just showed the notepad to him.

However, the timetable was written roughly. So, Jun proceeded to explain.

"Night practice?" JYP couldn't help but look at Vernon and Shonwu in surprise for a second as he didn't expect the boys here would come up with a different solution compared to the girls at B-Block.

"Can you manage?" He asked them, specifically looking at Vernon, to which Shonwu answered instead of the 18-year-old dancer, "we are getting more training time as compensation. With everyone sleeping, we can practice without any disturbance too. So, I think it is good for us."

JYP glanced at Shonwu for a second and nodded, "okay, so, once you submit the list by the end of the day, a mentor will be allotted to each of your group, according to your category and timetable."

As everyone nodded, indicating that they understood, JYP then stood up from the seat. Everyone also stood up.

He then looked at Jun, "SungJun-ssi, report to the top floor central block before 9 o'clock. Your practice sessions will start right away. You have the key, right?"

Jun nodded in response, "Yes."

"Okay, I'll take my leave. Good luck, everyone." JYP walked away and opened the door.

When it was partially opened, everyone saw steps on the side and another, a couple of meters away. They wondered how the central block will look like.

Almost around 9, Jun returned to the downstairs with a keycard. He tapped it on the keycard.

*Ting*

The door was unlocked and he opened the door. He stepped inside and closed it.

He climbed the steps, which leads towards the 1st floor of the central block but the level is the same as the 2nd floor was other blocks. There, he found a door, leading to something. He doesn't what lies beyond the door. Maybe

Remembering that he was called to the top floor, he continued to climb the steps.

As he finally reached the end of the stairs, he opened the door, which leads to a corridor towards another door on the other end.

Judging the distance, Jun mumbled, "I guess that leads to the C-Block."

He walked forward and turned right, to walk through the open entrance, and stepped inside the training room, which is as big as the ones on A-Block.

JYP was sitting there, alone, busy with a PC tablet, doing something.

Jun reported him.

"Oh, you are here. Your teammate hasn't arrived yet. You can practice whatever you want or just wait until then." JYP said to him before getting back to his work.

Unlike the training rooms at A-Block, here, the vocal training room isn't separately built. The music instruments were placed in a corner. There was no production/recording room either.

Jun directly went to the piano and spent his time, playing a popular classic.

At first, JYP wondered whether Jun was trying to impress him or something and in his view, there's no need to, because he already knew Jun was extremely skilled compared to others and there's no way YG will let him go either.

But then, as time passed, he realized that Jun was completely engrossed in playing the piano that he didn't even realize that a female contestant entered from the other entrance that leads to B and D-Blocks.

Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" has four movements overall and Jun was playing it continuously for more than 15 minutes straight, just entering the fourth movement. So, JYP didn't disturb him and the girl also stood on the side, watching Jun's performance.

*Ting*

Upon pressing the last key, Jun finally stopped and raised his head, only to be surprised by the person standing beside JYP. His eyes lit up for a second before confusion arose in his head. "Why was Chaeyoung here? Didn't she place the eighth rank in the last evaluation?"

That's right, it was Son Chaeyoung that came to the training room, meaning she's his partner for the next performance.

As he walked towards her in confusion, JYP spoke, expecting such reaction from Jun, "None of the female contestants in B-Block volunteered for the mixed duo and so, they didn't come to the decision before the time limit given to them. So, the opportunity was given to D-Block."

"Huh? So, I volunteered unnecessarily?" Jun thought in his head. For a moment, he regretted but when his eyes fell on 15-year-old Chaeyoung, he thought it was for the best.

Jun was naturally elated in his heart as he was a diehard fan of Twice in his past life.

Although Chaeyoung isn't his bias, still, she was an idol whom he could only see from far away. But, now, he gets to perform with her too. To be on the stage with their idol, was something that every fan wishes in their life.

Seeing her counterpart is going to become his partner, Jun was excited. But, at the same time, he was also worried about the upcoming performance. Chaeyoung is a rapper and he is a vocalist. Their preferences are the opposite.

Considering the rules, if they perform a dance or choose the performance category with live sing and dance, they are going to lose the points. Jun had a quest at stake. He can't lose the dorm leader position. Moreover, he was keeping his number 1 position for several weeks. He can't lose it either.

So, either he needed to rap or Chaeyoung needed to sing under another condition that he need to tweak the song, a little bit whether its lyrics, composition, or music accompaniment.

Jun very well knew that he was a fake songwriter and composer, and won't be able to live up to the expectations for sure if even he tried.

So, only one option is left.

When he made the decision, a song came to his mind right away. Once, they settled down, JYP told them to discuss with each other to come with a song. If they have an issue, they can take his help as he will be the one who will mentor them for the next week.

After JYP returned to the seat, Jun spoke to her, "Chaeyoung-ssi, I have a song in my mind."

"What is it?" She was curious. Since Jun was number one rank, she trusted his suggestion. Moreover, he was five years older than her. There was that too.

Instead of replying, Jun went to the computer and opened the playlist. He typed in the search.

"Hmm? Loner? Never heard of it." Chaeyoung was curious about the song. She was a 2002 born/world cup baby in this world. She was only 7 years when this song was out. So, it was unfamiliar for her.

Jun played the song.

As soon as the violin music started playing, a frown appeared on JYP, "this song?"
