The town

The night-

Noah ordered all the books from the mayor's manor and put them inside his room. Well, these books weren't that important for the mayor anyway, so he was more than willing to give these books to Noah since it would also make him look good in front of Noah.

Noah looked at the shelves and found books on spells. But, how much did he search, there wasn't a book on a sea of mana, so he decided to satisfy his curiosity by reading books on spells.

"Spells are the combination of mana and pattern. When mana is circulated and made a pattern, it would turn its forms into varieties of forms. Spells are the foundation of mages, as, without spells, there will be no mages.

Creating spells requires two basic materials, mana and focus. There are many patterns for mana to form different magic. Many of them are found accidentally, some are found by genius mages, and some by the sacrifice of mages. A simple mistake in a pattern could cause the mana to explode in the caster's face. This could cause simple injury to death. So, one shouldn't take casting spells lightly.

There are many branches in spells. Each branch forms a connection with another, after the combination of hundreds of branches. A single branch has a thousand mana lines. After these branches are formed, they automatically are connected through mana. After the connection, a phenomenon takes place. This phenomenon is simple, the spell.

Fireball, the most basic spell also has the combination of hundred branches. It has the most basic pattern. Hundreds of branches are separated into five small circles and the big circle utilizes these small circles to accumulate mana at one point. The accumulated mana becomes mana and when it is fired from the circle, at the last stage, it consolidates into a ball. That's how fireball forms..."

There was a clear definition of how a fireball spell is formed. From this, Noah learned many things. First, the small circles are made up of branches. These circles work with each other to transfer mana and change them into spells.

If he had to change the spells, he had to change the small circles. To change the small circles, he had to change the branches, which directly means to change mana lines.

"So, the mana lines could be the codes, branches a collection of codes, small circle the files and the big circle the extension. Combing all this forms a program, which in terms of this world means spells."

Noah thought deeply.

After reading the books on spells, he learned two first and second-tier spells. A tier spell is easy to find.

As long as a spell doesn't surpass tenth-tier, one could easily find them or even learn from others. But, learning or finding spells higher level than that is hard. No one is willing to teach these spells to others, and only it is passed to descendants or trusted disciples.

Noah slept after that.

He slept peacefully like a baby. He woke up in the morning.

It was early. The sun was just rising. The cold air blew in the room through the opened window.

"Let's take a stroll around the town."

Noah walked around the town. He didn't explore the town previously, so he used this opportunity to explore the town and take a closer look at its situation.

As he left the palace, he found several workers rushing to varieties of places to work. Despite being the cursed land, there are several mines.

The ores mined from these mines are sold to other cities. This is the core source of income for this town. Otherwise, this town had already turned into a silent valley.

Noah looked at the people's clothing. They were wearing either tattered clothes or ragged clothes. No one looked clean, due to the poverty.

There were no fields, and many lands were left empty.

Houses made up of sand and a rock ceiling could be found. These houses are made uniquely. By putting water on the soil and making it wet, they piled the sand. They used stones as support for the sand and piled it high.

After creating a basic house-like structure, they covered the roof with a huge stone.

After given some time, the sands were also hardened.

Noah learned all of these while coming to this place.

A basic summary of people's lifestyle, the way they earn income, and the way they built houses and sustain their life.

There was no noble in this town except for the mayor, as there was not a single thing that could earn those people a ton of money.

Even piling food is hard, even the mayor had to starve from time to time, let alone commoners.

As Noah walked further, some old houses which had piled cracks on them were seen. Children of all ages were playing around.

Running, and shouting, they enjoyed what they had.

The condition of the people living here was worse. It was simply eye wetting.

Noah nodded slightly looking at the surrounding.

"Let's test three plans to improve this place."

Noah mumbled to himself.

He looked around.

He found two huge wells. The wells were made up of stones piling and making it a bit higher, so a child won't reach them.

There was a rope attached to the bucket built of stone. The stone was thinned and was light weighted.

Noah lifted the bucket and looked down at the well.

"It had been a long time since I carried water from the well." A sense of nostalgia swelled in Noah's heart. He threw the bucket on the well.

The bucket went deeper and deeper. Still after, reaching the end of the rope, the bucket barely touched the water.

When he pulled the bucket, there was simply water accumulated at the bottom which won't even fill a glass.

"Hah."

Noah sighed.

He clicked his finger.

Mana poured out from his hands and formed a small magic circle.

Water began pouring out from the circle and rained down the well.

The water didn't look anywhere near coming up. So, he poured more mana and cast four more magic circles which rained down water.

After five minutes, the well was filled with water.

He moved his head at the other well.

This time, he cast ten magic circles.

Due to being low-level, only first-tier, he easily cast this magic. After some practice, the magic circle was improved.

The water poured down at high speed and filled the well in less than five minutes.

Seeing that, Noah was satisfied.

"!!!"

Suddenly, another idea floated in Noah's head.
