The magicians

"Bubble Attack"

A magic circle formed in Noah's hand and fired a bubble at the magical lion which was on the verge of peeing himself.

The bubble gobbled the lion. The lion stunned looked at the bubble and tried to pop it with his sharp nails, but as he did that, four intense forces pushed him.

His bones vibrated and he felt like he was being squeezed.

The magical lion fell to the ground. Noah pondered about whether to kill this lion or not, but at the last moment, he cast a fireball. Tens of fireball hit the magical lion and exploded on impact.

The lion had greater resistance against fire and a tough body. Most of the impact would be absorbed by his fur.

But, the continuous explosion of the fireball tossed him around like he was a ball. Finally, after twenty fireballs, the magical lion was on the verge of death, and finally, the last fireball killed the magical lion.

Noah heaved a sigh of relief and started sorting out the magical core. In the midst of the ashes, it took some time for him to find the cores and separate them.

At the time, he was done. The sky had already turned black. The twinkling stars were visible and the bright big moon illuminated the whole world dimly.

Noah sat on the cold floor supporting his body at the wall. He put all the cores in a bag and wipe his sweats.

Looking at the bright sky, he couldn't help but feel many emotions in his heart. He tried to imagine his previous life, but nothing but a nightmare came into his view.

He couldn't imagine he could live this life. His previous life... wasn't worth living.

This world is big, where monsters ran rampant, magicians dealt with them, and ordinary citizens lived their life normally.

Soldiers were those people who were trained physically but didn't possess any mana. This world was ruled by magicians.

Magus, mage, and magicians. They had different names, but all of them were the same.

After a bit of drowning himself in emotions on this beautiful night, he left his room and slept peacefully like a baby.

The next day-

The sun rose up. Stars hid under the veil of the sunlight and the moon left to his next destination. There was no noise and everything was quiet.

Noah woke up as he felt uncomfortable. Rays of light pierced his eyelid which woke him abruptly from his dream.

He left the room and walked to the dining room, but seeing no one, he remembered all of the people had left the town to take refuge in other cities.

He didn't know how to call those people, so he was in a dilemma. It's not like he didn't know how to cook, but he didn't want to be in a lonely place.

Noah sighed and shook his head.

"I will worry about that later."

He walked to the kitchen. There was no fridge, but every item was placed on kitchen racks. These racks were special. The material used for these kitchen racks was a bit special. Every vegetable placed in these racks won't spoil even if it is left for hundred years.

He found some vegetables, and other necessary ingredients like salt, pepper, and chilly powder. He used these to cook a simple dish and ate it quietly.

He looked at the big bag and tried to think of how to sell these cores. But after a bit of thinking, he thought of going to another city to sell it.

But, suddenly, the noises of people came from outside.

"Where the hell are these monsters? Why don't I see a single one?"

"Did we get the wrong info?"

"Did the monsters leave this place without attacking?"

"I don't think so, the monsters could have moved to another area without coming to this place?"

There were 5 people discussing around the town center. Noah's house was also near that, so he could hear their roaring voice.

"Damn! Did we just waste our time coming to this cursed land?!" One particularly young man was furious. More furious than the other mages.

They were wearing luxurious robes. At their chest, polished silver stars were stuck. The furious man had 5 stars and others also have 3 and 4 stars. From the look, the furious man seemed to have a higher position than others.

Noah walked outside. He faced these magicians. He wanted to ask them something and had others' uses. But, from his memory, he knew that young mages were arrogant, and those who are rich are more arrogant.

So, he didn't know if he would accidentally kill them. Since he didn't like arrogant people.

Burying his feeling, he walked outside and faced the magicians who were stunned. They squinted at this young man who came out of the biggest house in this city.

"Hello, fellow mages." Noah smiled slightly and spoke in a friendly tone.
