It’s All Pointless

' Feel it in your heart… feel it in your heart…' Wo Shie thought over and over as he recalled when he damned the oversoul and coughed up blood.

He recalled the feeling of anger and how the physical pain he'd felt lingered in his mind pushing his emotions to the extreme.

"Light" Wo Shie said trying to see what he was capable of while he vividly remembered his feelings toward the oversoul.

When nothing happened Wo Shie's face became more down trodden, 'so does this mean I can speak… I just can't be emotional?'

Lola examined Wo Shie as he was reading and watched carefully what would happen when he spoke, she knew in her time the most powerful beings could create and destroy worlds with their slightest vibration.

"What are you trying to do little Shie?" She asked.

"Before I climbed this tree to get way up here I said something to someone and almost died, they told me I'd find out how to control the ability if I retrieved the manual." Wo Shie said vaguely explaining what had happened to Lola.

"And what did the manual say?" She asked while walking closer to Wo Shie.

"It said some nonsense about death being an illusion, and when I speak if I feel it in my heart the illusion can begin." He answered his frustration leaking through his voice.

As he was saying this repeles began to form in the space around them as if something ethereal had almost been made physical.

Seeing this Lola almost immediately recognized what was going on. "Earlier when you spoke to whoever it was, we're you emotional about what you said or was what you said rooted in your emotions?"

"Yea… it was." Wo Shie answered looking at Lola waiting for her to carry on.

"I think you have to control your emotions and believe your own words." Lola said noticing Wo Shie waiting for her to finish.

Hearing this Wo Shie began to concentrate on his emotions, 'what even are emotions really, I feel them but where do they come from and how to I control them?' He thought to himself as he began to recall emotional experiences.

He recalled experiences from gratitude to anger, from love to hate, even from sadness to happiness and he noticed one thing in common the negative ones always seemed stronger more vivid and to last longer, what all the good ones seemed like short beautiful lies.

This caused a new emotion to begin to rise in him, it was an empty one as he began to think of how pointless emotions were. How pointless everything was, everyone would die his family was a painful reminder that even immortals could go.

Even his own life he was always fighting through whatever pain to get to the next step but for what just to face more pain. Even if lives were depending on him what did that matter it's not like any of them even knew he existed or what the consequences of him not existing would mean.

Wo Shie continued to meditate and this empty consuming feeling continued to build inside of him until it felt like it was restricting his breathing. "It's all pointless wh-" Wo Shie began to speak before violently coughing up blood and immediately passing out being caught my Lola.

"It's not pointless little Shie, even if life ends, when it started it was all about curiosity, you will find what matters to you." Lola said to Wo Shie as she caressed his head and used her life affinity to heal his injuries.
