Chapter 33- Swords

Dave recalls a disturbing incident involving Dianne. She once drugged and assaulted him for an entire day, leaving him weak and shocked by the unexpected abuse.

Initially, Dave pursued Dianne to counter the attention she received from nobles and wealthy young men.

However, things took a dark turn after their first intimate encounter.

Dianne became obsessed with Dave, developing an addiction to their physical relationship and demanding constant intimacy.

As her jealousy grew, Dianne used her status as the daughter of a Viscount to harm Dave's other ex-girlfriends.

Despite ending the relationship, Dave intervened to protect them from Dianne's aggressive actions.

Fed up with her behavior, Dave decided to break up with Dianne.

However, this didn't stop her from becoming even more erratic.

She sent bodyguards to find him and even threatened suicide if he ignored her.

Dave sought help from his father, and after a conversation with the Viscount, Dianne was forcefully returned to her fief.

Despite these measures, when Dave attended the academy, Dianne persisted in searching for him, displaying a relentless determination.

Once Susan finally convinced her father to let her go, the first thing she did was search for Dave.

However, she discovered that he had left the city, making her fear that she might never see him again. Later, she heard that he had enrolled in the academy.

Despite her desire to go there, Susan refrained from doing so, knowing that her actions were being monitored by her father's guards.

After five days, she unexpectedly received a message stating that Dave had returned to the mansion. Eager to see him, she decided to wait for his appearance.

As she spotted him walking on the streets, Susan couldn't control herself and ran to hug him.

Dave, still as handsome as ever, gently pushed her away, even though he seemed to enjoy her soft embrace.

He spoke, "We've already broken up, so please give up. Your obsession will only hurt you, and you need to change yourself."

Dave then looked in a particular direction and sensed a strong presence guarding her, but the shadow concealed itself when it met Dave's gaze.

Dianne didn't get angry; instead, she smiled and replied, "I know you're just joking when you said that. I know that you love me, right?"

Dave didn't know how to respond, wanting to avoid hurting her feelings, given that her actions stemmed from love. However, her love had become an extreme obsession.

Rather than answering, Dave simply held her hands, and they both vanished from the location.

The guards watching Dianne were stunned, but they knew she was safe with Dave, so they didn't panic.

Dave had a good reputation for treating his girlfriends, never resorting to violence.

They also didn't dare to stop him, fearing the consequences of offending the guardian's son, as even the viscount they served would punish them severely for such an offense.

Dave brought Dianne to a place where there were no people—a forest where he used to hunt wild beasts when he was 9 years old.

This forest, known as the Blue Serpent Forest, is said to be guarded by a strong serpent at its core.

Dave established his hut there, spending months practicing swordsmanship. It also served as a retreat to calm his mind and enhance his cultivation.

This dedication earned him the title of Rising Champion, despite his privileged life.

Even though he lived a comfortable life, his desire to become stronger never wavered.

In the hut, Dianne enjoyed holding hands with Dave during their journey. As Dave gazed at her, he expressed, "I don't want to hurt you, but your obsessiveness makes me hate you more."

"You're a good woman, and I never regretted loving you. However, you need to fix yourself, not just for you but also for your family," Dave continued.

Dianne remained silent, allowing him to speak. She avoided looking into Dave's eyes, on the verge of tears.

In response, Dave gently caressed her cheeks, offering comfort with a hug.

The emotional scene lasted for hours, and Dianne felt a connection reminiscent of when she first fell in love with Dave.

He was the only man who captured her heart, despite the attention from numerous other suitors.

Dave urged, "Dianne, do me a favor. Fix yourself first, and if you do, I will come back to you."

Dianne, comforted by Dave's soothing voice, looked at him and asked, "Really? You'll come back to me? But what if you forget about me someday?"

Dave smiled, patting her head, and reassured her, "I will not forget you. I promise."

With those words, he left her in the hut.

Dianne watched his disappearing figure and whispered, "I will become a better woman for you. Please wait for me."

Feeling safe, Dianne knew Dave had plans to inform her guards to retrieve her. As she observed his departure, she recognized her growing obsession and resolved to change.

Dave appeared 100 meters away from the hut and noticed an old man hiding in a tree, but he couldn't escape Dave's keen eyes.

"She's inside; take care of her for me," Dave requested, bowing sincerely before disappearing in an instant.

After Dave left, the old man removed his concealment, and his face showed amazement as he murmured, "As expected, the son of a tiger will never be a cat."

"Such a strong individual at a young age to see through my concealment. I thought it was only a coincidence before."

Afterward, he continued to search for a sword, but he couldn't find any that could withstand the power of his sword attacks.

Though Dave could acquire a stronger sword above the Heavenly Sage level from his father, the sword in the system was bound to him and could never be snatched or used by others. Furthermore, it grew alongside him and was modified to endure his sword attacks.

In light of this, he opted to purchase numerous swords so that whenever one broke, he could easily replace it with a new one.
