Chapter 73: Destroying the spiritual energy core (3)

"My senses have reached the peak of a mortal" Henry muttered under his breath as he tightened the grip on his sword.

A second later, a notification flashed in his retina but he ignored it.

"I don't have the time to read the notification, I must finish this quickly," He thought to himself.

He jumped and charged toward the spiritual energy absorber like a bolt of lightning in the vision of others.

However, in Henry's vision he is moving at normal speed, the others are just moving too slowly. This effect of the Ocean of Death.

A snail moves super slowly in the eyes of humans but in the vision of the snail a human moves just too quickly.

It's the same in the ocean of death. Everything other than Henry is a snail in his vision and others' vision, he is a bolt of lightning.

He focused on destroying all of them at the same time. A few seconds later, a golden trail of aura appeared around the spiritual energy absorber.

This aura is surrounding the absorber like a ring, but it has connected all of the golden spots.

Henry followed this golden trail, and in a second he had hit dozens of spots all over the spiritual energy absorber.

Each one of those spots is a weak point.

Cracks have appeared in the spiritual energy absorber all over the body.

At the current moment, the absorber is like a water tank filled with dozens of holes.

The spiritual energy absorber is trembling a lot, spiritual energy is rushing out from the absorber from all over the absorber.

"I must leave this place right now, the absorber is going to explode very soon.

I should run for the exit and pick up Lucy and go to the nearest city" He muttered under his breath.

He dashed out through the door like a bolt of lightning. His gaze met the countless soldiers and panic could be seen all over the place.

However they deserve it, they tried to kill me so I don't have any mercy towards them" Henry muttered under his breath.

He kept dashing towards the door while maintaining the speed of a bolt of lightning, a few seconds later, he would have reached the hallway.

Now he will be heading towards the exit. A second the nervous roaring of the soldier could be heard.

"Everyone our lives are in danger, the spiritual energy absorber is going to explode any moment now, there are countless cracks in the absorber.

I think this is done by the intruder!!!" One of the soldiers roared as they rushed out of the room where the spiritual energy absorber is.

The other's faces became pale when they heard his words. The soldiers here are well aware of the energy that the absorber holds.

The energy that has accumulated over the years is so great that if the spiritual energy absorber exploded then it would produce an explosion similar to that of tons of tnt being stacked together.

When the soldiers thought about the power of the explosion, they felt a shiver run through their spines, and fear was written all over their faces.

However the fear didn't last for long, it was replaced by anger.

"We are going to die for that person!! We should kill him even if it costs our lives"One of the soldiers roared.

"Yes I agree, moreover he said that he is going to let us live if we drop our weapons so he has lied to us, we must kill him at all costs!!!"Other soldiers roared.

Soon a certain slogan began to resound throughout the entire place.

"KILL THE INTRUDER!!!!

KILL THE INTRUDER!!!!

KILL THE INTRUDER!!!!

KILL THE INTRUDER!!!!"All of the soldiers roared.

The morale of the troops was at an all-time high.

Henry heard this and he almost burst into laughter but he controlled himself from laughing.

Since that would certainly deactivate the Ocean of Death. If it does happen, he will die for sure.

"Hahaha, I will be out of this cave by the next 2 minutes at my current speed.

The absorber should explode in the next 2 minutes and 10 seconds if my estimate is right.

By then I will be long gone" Henry muttered under his breath.

The gate to the hallway was just a few cm away, he was about to enter the gateway but all of a sudden the ground started to tremble slightly and a huge boulder fell from the roof.

The boulder landed on the ground in front of the gate to the hallway, blocking the ground.

"This won't stop me" He muttered softly.

He slashed his sword vertically by 180 degrees, the sword passed through the boulder like it was made up of butter.

The boulder was cut in half.

After cutting the boulder, it drew every soldier's attention and one of them roared.

"Someone has cut the boulder using a sword, this must be the intruder, he is trying to escape.

Go quickly and catch him even if it causes your death"One of the soldiers roared at the top of his lungs.

Almost everyone in the room rushed towards the door clueless. Even though they knew that they wouldn't be able to catch him.

They still tried, the archers launched countless arrows towards the gateway aimlessly hoping that it would hit him.

The arrows were directed charging toward Henry, but he dodged them flawlessly

"Well even though they are aiming without seeing me, the arrows are close to hitting him.

If it wasn't for the Ocean of Death then I would surely be impaled by at least one arrow" He muttered under his breath.

A second later, he stepped into the gateway, then he looked up at the roof.

He jumped towards the roof and slashed it countless times in less than a second. Hundreds of small pieces of debris fell to the ground with each slash in front of the gateway.

The debris killed anyone below it, the debris started to accumulate over time and blocked the gateway.

He kept slashing the roof until enough debris had fallen to the ground to completely block the gateway.

Around 4 seconds later, the gateway was completely blocked by the debris.

He let out a sigh.

"They shouldn't be able to get out of the room for the next 10 minutes at least. By that time the absorber would have exploded, hence resulting in their death" He muttered under his breath.

All of a sudden the ground started to shake uncontrollably, and debris started to fall from the rooftop.

Dense spiritual energy started to sweep through the debris in the gateway. The spiritual energy gave off a calming sensation through his body.

But he knew that his life was in mortal danger.

"Damn, the absorber is going to explode sooner than I expected it to explode. It will probably explode within a minute.

I must escape quickly" He thought to himself as cold sweat dripped down from his forehead.

There is no way he can survive these explosions if he gets caught so he calmed himself down and started to drag towards the exit as quickly as he could.

He didn't dare to waste even a second, only getting off the radius of the explosion in his mind.

"If I can get to where Lucy is then I will be out of the radius according to my calculations" He muttered under his breath.

He kept moving towards the exit, every step that he took produced strong gales of wind that were infused with sword intent.

The gales of wind destroyed his surroundings but he wasn't thinking about all this, only escape was in his mind.

Soon a ray of light could be seen from a distance.

"THAT'S THE EXIT!!! I must be close to the exit radius of the explosion!!"He exclaimed in happiness.

All of a sudden, a loud sound could be heard from within the cave. The sound was getting louder with each passing second.

Soon a strong shockwave traveled through the entire place, and the shockwave knocked him to the ground.

He fell to the ground, his face had become completely pale.

"Oh no, the absorber will explode in the next 3 seconds, this shockwave is the sign that the absorber will explode soon.

I won't be able to make it out of the radius in time, there is only one thing I can do"He muttered under his breath as he gritted his teeth so hard that his gums started to bleed.

He clenched his fist tightly and began to channel his spiritual energy uniquely.

He didn't even bother to get up and waste time. Soon 6 magic circles appeared around him

"I WILL HAVE TO TANK THE EXPLOSION!!!" He roared in despair and his voice carried helplessness and deep regret.
