Space Rift

The entrance to the Trail of Eternal Winds that the book mentioned seemed ordinary at first, only containing a terrifying wind, but as they took a step forward, suddenly, everything around them changed.

They appeared in a completely different place; the wind here was twice as terrifying. Ling Xue noticed that the thin layer of ice he had created began to crack rapidly.

Then more ice formed quickly, reinforcing the circular ice barrier around them. Now, the thickness of the pure ice was greater, and the wind couldn't make a scratch on the barrier.

The pure ice was almost transparent, so they could see everything around them.

After Ling Xue reinforced the barrier, he looked at Li Yuemei, whose face had suddenly become paler than usual.

"What happened? Did you get hurt?" He asked, looking at her body, but he didn't see anything wrong.

"I was using my spiritual sense before entering, but as soon as we got here, it was suddenly severed."

"I was only using a little of my sense, so I'll be fine in a few minutes," she replied, looking around where they were.

"It really is as the book said; as soon as we enter, we'll be sent to a part of the mountain range, but this is more terrifying than I thought," she said, looking around and hearing the huge noise of the wind colliding with the ice barrier.

To their left and right were tall earth walls with tree roots, but as they reached where the wind passed, the roots disappeared, as if they had been cut.

Along the path where the wind passed, there were no trees or any sign of anything else. The ground of this path was entirely made of black stones with cut marks all over it, as if the constant wind were slowly digging the ground of this place, which is why they found themselves underground.

So Ling Xue made them float with the pure ice barrier, wanting to see what the place was like outside the Trail of Eternal Winds, he floated them out from underground.

The sky in this place was completely cloudy, with countless lightning bolts across the sky, causing huge noises all the time; they were now in the area affected by the space storm.

A few meters around them, there was just a seemingly ordinary forest.

But where they were standing, the wind was endless.

Despite this appearing as just an ordinary forest, they knew that appearances were deceptive; any place outside this trail was infested with spatial energy and extremely dangerous things.

Ling Xue then decided to test something. Suddenly, from the pure ice barrier, an ice serpent appeared. He made it strong enough not to be destroyed by the wind and sent it floating outside the trail.

As it left, it seemed like nothing would happen, but after the ice serpent walked for a moment, suddenly, half of its body disappeared.

"What happened?" Li Yuemei asked, surprised, looking at the remaining half of the ice serpent on the ground.

Ling Xue saw this with extreme interest and suddenly looked to another place in the opposite direction from where he had sent the snake.

There was where the missing part had gone, but it was completely destroyed; only broken ice shards remained on the ground.

"It's one of the anomalies—small spatial distortions scattered throughout this place," Ling Xue said as he floated them again, this time moving forward along the trail.

Li Yuemei wondered what it would be like if a person like her were in that distortion instead of the ice.

The person's body would be cut in half and completely destroyed, with no chance of survival.

So the two of them continued along the trail, winding through the mountain range toward the other side of the continent.

Then, quickly, two days passed.

As they progressed, the wind became stronger and stronger, but the two of them were completely fine.

Some monstrous beasts were seen; although this place was terrifying, just like the beasts that lived in the inner area of the Frozen Abyss, the beasts here had adapted to the environment and had their own ways of living even in such a place.

As they traveled through this place, Ling Xue and Li Yuemei frequently talked.

Li Yuemei noticed that although he still seemed not to understand some common things, after reading countless books, it was easier to understand him, and therefore, she enjoyed talking to him more and more.

After her awakening, she felt extremely comfortable around him and treated him as a close friend.

She was paying more and more attention to everything he did, even his small gestures, although she didn't realize she was doing it.

Their journey through this place in the first two days had nothing unusual happen, and it seemed that it would continue that way. But then Ling Xue suddenly said after stopping.

"From here on, the dangerous part of the Trail of Eternal Winds truly begins."

On the central continent, a man with short, dark blue hair arrived today in a forest of red trees. Besides their color, there was nothing special about the trees; he was flying rapidly over the red forest.

Then, after some time flying, he suddenly stopped.

He raised his hand near his mouth and then bit one of his fingers; a drop of blood dripped from the wound. The blood was red like everyone else's, but if someone observed closely, they would notice a nearly imperceptible gray color around the drop of blood.

As soon as the drop of blood left his finger, he quickly threw it a few meters in front of him.

Then the drop of blood seemed to collide with something invisible.

As the drop of blood collided with this thing, a reaction occurred.

Space began to distort and suddenly open, as if it were being torn apart and opening a rift. Quickly, in the air above the red forest, a two-meter rift appeared, opening a path to a completely different place on the other side of the rift.

"It's been fifteen years since I returned to the family; it seems that there have been significant changes in this place," he said, seeing that behind the spatial rift, everything was different.

'This is definitely because of her,' he thought as he entered the rift.

As soon as he entered, the distortion in space disappeared as if it had never appeared, and everything returned to normal above the forest.
