Blue Skull Guild

After 3 days of walking through the forest, we finally arrived at Magnolia Town.

Magnolia is located in the center of the southeastern part of Fiore, and is a merchant city that has been prosperous in Magic since the ancient era. This town is also famous for the Kardia Cathedral, one of Magnolia's most important and distinctive landmarks, located in the middle of the town, overlooking the central path.

When we arrived in front of the city, everyone was shocked to see its conditions.

Buildings were broken and burned, fragments of houses were everywhere on the path while an enormous blue dragon skeleton overlooking the city was standing with his claws pressing on the cracked Kardia Cathedral.

Looking at the town who seemed to have lost all of its inhabitants, i wasn't shoked at all.

During these hundreds of years when i was travaling around the world during various wars such as the war between dragons and humans such a view wasn't rare.

As we were looking at the scenery, an old man walked toward us with his hands behind his back and said.

"Are you folks travellers? There's nothing left in this city. Leave while you can."

"Old man, what happend to this place?" asked Precht.

"The city's dying, ever since the blue skull came here..." responded the old man but when he was about to finish his sentence a magic bullet in high speed shot toward his back.

Before the spell could hit him, Mavis quickly used her bullet magic and shot a bullet aiming at the other one in order the protect the old man.

*BAM*

The two bullets met and created a small explosion.

Turning our head toward where the bullet was shot from, we saw 3 men wearing capes.

Pointing at the crest on their uncovered chest, Mavis spoke.

"You are member of the Blue Skull Guild!"

"Damn! You dare to hinder our fun!" shouted angrily the man in the middle as he started shooting more magic spell toward us.

Blocking their spells with my time magic, i turned my head and looked toward the mass of people coming in our direction.

'Iron Magic : Jail' I thought as iron fences started to surround them, locking them in a cage.

Looking at the huge iron fences, the mages were panicked as a masked man slowly advanced in the direction of my iron spell.

Since i saw the story in my past life, i knew who he was.

He was Geoffrey, the Guild Master of Blue Skull, who later became the founder of Phantom Lord.

His magic is named Dispel, it is a variation of Nullification Magic that causes the annulment of a spell.

As he was looking at me, he said.

"You are impressive but your magic is useless against me." As soon as he finished speaking, he started to use his magic against mine.

Seeing that my magic was slowly disappearing, i turned my head toward my group and said aloud.

"Give me a rope, we will tie him with something real since magic doesn't work."

Yuri opened his backpack and took out a long rope that he gave me.

Using the rope, i tied the masked man while the rest of their guild members were still locked in a barrier made of my iron magic, letting the three treasure hunters behind me amazed.

"Let's go and take back the Tenrou Jade" said Mavis.

As soon as she said this, Yuri, Precht and Warrod started running toward the Kardia Cathedral where was the base of the Blue Skull guild.

As we were going to follow them, the man screamed at us.

"STOP THEM!! YOU MUST NOT LET THEM TOUCH THE BEAD!"

"What do you mean, It belonged to us, it was our island's treasure to begin with..." responded Mavis but was interrupted by Geoffrey who screamed again and more loudly.

"THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M SAYING!!! I'M TELLING YOU TO NOT TOUCH IT, PHYSICALLY-SPEAKING. THAT'S A SUBSTITUTE THAT SHOULDN'T BE TOUCHED! IT'LL DESTROY THE WHOLE MAGNOLIA!"

The little blond-haired girl started to panick as she turned her head in my direction and asked me.

"What should we do? If what he says is true then we won't be able to stop them!"

i put my hand on Mavis's shoulder as i used my eye magic to see Yuri picking up the bead and said.

"What he said is true but it's too late now."

As i finished my sentence, a bright light envelopped the Cathedral accompanied a loud roar that sounded through the city.

After a few seconds, the light diminished as the huge blue dragon skeleton above the cathedral started to move, raging through the town.

"Mavis, Zera go stop him, i'll go and save the inhabitants of the city." i told them and started to use my space magic to move the people away from the town.

Hearing my command, the two girls moved toward Precht and Warrod who were wounded by the aftermath of the explosion.

As Zera started to heal them, Mavis rushed toward Yuri who had merged with the dragon skeleton.

Looking at Mavis while i was saving the people nearby, i couldn't help but feel guilty towards her.

I knew that Mavis would decide to use the dangerous Magic Law to save Yuri and everyone, resulting in her getting cursed. But this incident is an important reason for the creation of fairy tail as well as the future events that i have read in my past life.

Although i teached her Law earlier than when that magic was taught to her by Zeref in the original story but she still doesn't master it and her chance of getting the curse is extremely high.

Anyway if the situation gets out of control, i'll just ask some help from my first clone who has 70% of the strenght of a demi-god, but i don't think i'll need it, my knowledge of magic is enough for me to even remove the contradictory curse but that mean that i'll expose myself so i won't do it in front of other people.

While i was thinking, Mavis used her illusion magic to create gold coins falling from the sky in order to induce Yuri toward her location using his greed for treasure and money.

Seeing the giant dragon approching her, she climbed on a house and waited for him to stand next to her.

As the huge skeleton stopped moving in front of the pile of gold coins, Mavis jumped on his back and hanged on his long backbone.

As she was ready to use law, a voice interrupted her.

"Wait, Mavis !"

Hearing someone calling her, she turned her head in the direction of the voice and saw Zera just behind her, hanging on the dragon like her.

"Zera? What are you doing here?" asked the blond-haired girl.

"Ken said that this magic would take you 10 years before you could complete it and he told you that you should only use this magic in case of urgency! If you use it in an incomplete state, it's impossible to predict at what price it'll be cast!" responded Zera.

"Law is a magic, that from the perspective of its wielder saves all that is good and annihilates all that is evil. A great, ancient spell known as the absolute judgement magic. With this magic, i might be able to save Yuri and defeat the evil force of the tenrou jade! Even if it cost me something, we have no other choice, these people are my friends and as long as i have a chance to save him, i'm willing to take the gamble!" said Mavis with a firm tone.

"Friends, huh... Do you still believe in fairies?"

"Of course! fairies do exist!"

"Ok, then i'll believe in you." said Zera with a smile.

Mavis, looked back at Zera with confidence and then jumped toward the skull of the dragon and re-jumped off in front of its eyeballs, as she was falling she spoke.

"One... Two... Three. Law!" as the word law was spoken from her mouth, a huge pillar of golden light shined brightly around her small figure.

A few seconds later, as the light dimmed, we couldn't see the giant dragon skeleton anymore at his emplacement was Yuri falling from the sky unconscious.

As everyone was cheering that Mavis saved Yuri and the city, i walked toward Mavis, who was bruised all over her body, unconscious too.

Lowering my head as i put my hands in front of her face while i used my healing magic to heal her wounds.

Once she opened her eyes, she smiled happily and said.

"I did it, Ken! I saved Yuri and the town!"

"Yes, well done but in exchange for the power you've used, you've got cursed." i responded with a slight sad tone.

"Even if i got cursed, i think that what i did was the right choice." she responded with a large smile as a bit of sorrow was hidden in her green eyes.

I took her in my arms while petting her head as i said.

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to solve your curse."

"Thank you."

A few days after the battle, Magnolia has been partially reconstructed.

In an inn where Yuri was sleeping while Warrod and Precht were looking over him.

Suddenly, Yuri opened his eyes, touching his forehead with his hand as he asked to Warrod next to him.

"Where i am?"

"You are in an inn in Magnolia. There's no doubt that you must be really confused right now. You were being controlled by the evil forces inside the Tenrou Jade." responded his friend looking back at him.

Yuri looked around as if he was looking for someone and finally asked Warrod.

"Where is Mavis? Is she ok?"

Looking at Yuri seriously, he answered.

"Well, in a manner of speaking, she is safe. That girl ended up having use some crazy magic in order to stop the tenrou bead before collapsing."

As Warrod finished his sentence, Precht added.

"Ken looked at her and said that what happened was the consequence of using an incomplete version of a grand magic, Mavis's body will no longer grow or mature anymore..."

But before he could finish speaking, Yuri went out in a hurry toward the plain were Zera, Mavis and me were staying.

After a few minutes, Yuri arrived in front of us out of breath.

Mavis smiled in his direction and said.

"So you're awake. I'm so glad, i thought you had a problem because it has been several days since Ken healed you!"

"How can you smile in this situation... Because of me, you won't be...." asked Yuri.

"What happened wasn't because of anyone. I made that decision myself."

"Why did you save me! From the very beginning, the plan was to give you the slip! i was just using you the whole time!"

Looking at Yuri's face full of tears, i couldn't help but feel a bit funny.

The fact that he thought he was using us while i was molding them to be a loyal and honest friend for Mavis is a bit amusing.

"I'm sorry, so sorry." he told to the blond-haired girl.

"This isn't like you at all, Yuri." she said.

Wiping his tears away, he responded.

"Well, even though a lot happened, i want you to know that i think of you as my friends. Thank you for saving me, Mavis and thank you for healing me, Ken."

As he looked firm, he shifted his gaze toward me and said.

"Ken, i think that that's the time, we should tell her the truth."

Looking back at him, i nodded, knowing of what he was talking about.

Mavis was a bit confused and asked us.

"The truth?? What are you talking about?"

"Mavis, this is something about Zera." i said.

"Zera? What's the matter?" asked Mavis.

"In fact, from the begginning, i cannot see her nor can i hear her voice. And it's not just me, Precht and Warrod as well. No one can see or hear Zera. She is an existence only you can perceive." responded Yuri as i added.

"He's right. Zera is an illusion of your own creation."

Mavis suddenly started panicking and asked in doubt.

"Zera is an illusion? Ken, what do you mean! You could see her and you talked to her, no?"

"Mavis, that's because i am different from normal humans" i responded as Zera started talking right after me.

"I'm sorry Mavis, I couldn't bring myself to tell you but, seven years ago, on Tenrou Island, i died. And at that moment, you unconsciously created me, the illusion known as Zera."

"That can't be..."

"An illusion it's creater does not think as such isn't visible to anyone else. Look, just with you begginning to become aware of the fact that i'm an illusion, i'm starting to become more and more illusory."

"No it's false! I didn't thought for a second that you were an illusion!" responded Mavis shouting as tears were flowing down her cheeks.

"Mavis, continuously manifesting me is putting a toll on your body." said Zera as she was slowly fading away.

"It doesn't matter! i don't want you to leave me, Zera!"

"Don't worry, from now on, you'll be with Ken and your real world friends. Don't forget, i'll keep living in your heart from now." as soon as Zera's sentence was finished, Mavis fell to her knees crying loudly.

"It was fun together, Mavis now i should go, thank you for these moments." added the brown haired girl as she hugged her friend for the last time.

"Me too, i had fun, Zera." said Mavis trying to smile.

Before disappearing, Zera turned her head toward me and said.

"Ken, don't forget to take care of Mavis."

"Don't worry, i will." i responded
