The Valkyries were her personal special cavalry unit, which Uncle Lars had given to her in order to take charge of perilous situations within Basic dimensions.

Shane knew that Aisha was Lars' disciple but he had only met her once at a military event.

Apparently, her parents had been good friends of his Uncle. Thus he had raised her as one of his own after her parents had lost their lives in a beast tide in the intermediate dimensions.
