malenia the baroness of Solana city

Somewhere inside the Raven Kingdom, on the outskirts of the Solana city, a beautiful woman wearing silver armor could be seen standing at the peak of a tall mountain, looking at the sky with her deep purple eyes. She had a beautiful white face and waist-length blonde hair that were flowing with the wind. She held a blood-covered sword in her right hand as four figures stood behind her wearing the same armor and holding similar swords in their hands. Two of them were women while the other two were middle-aged men.

"Lady Malenia, there is no sign of any other monster around here. We have slain every last one of them," One of the two middle-aged men with a long beard took a few steps forward and reported. Upon hearing that man's words, the woman named Melenia took a deep breath and looked over her shoulders with an indifferent expression.

"Sir Virgil, you say that we have slain every last one of them, but I only see sixty of these horn wolf carcasses here. The monsters we killed were just tier-one monsters and nothing else. Moreover, in this process, we lost three of our men!" Malenia exclaimed as she angely responded to the middle-aged man named Virgil.

After listening to the cold words coming out of Lady Baroness' mouth, Virgil heaved a deep sigh. He understood that his words had pissed her off. After all, the woman in front of him valued the lives of her people, and today, she had lost three soldiers who had sworn their loyalty to her.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean to say such a hurtful thing. Various monsters are running havoc all over the world but we can't kill them all even if we want to. I am just happy that you are safe, my Lady, and that we successfully killed an entire Horde that was causing havoc by running around our borders. Now we don't have to worry about the safety of the citizens of Solana city. We have eradicated these monsters before they could pose any threat to Solana city or harm any innocent soul," The middle-aged man named Virgil responded to Malenia in a respectful voice.

"Yes, Lady Malenia, Sir Virgil is right, we have achieved something great today. Now, thanks to your efforts, the path that connects us to the nearby cities is also unblocked. The presence of these horn wolves was a greater threat to the safety of the neighboring cities as well. Thankfully, they are now dealt with. I know that we lost three of our men in the process but still,Their sacrifices weren't in vain," A beautiful woman wearing silver armor approached Malenia and said in calm manner. She had the same blonde hair as her but they were relatively short, perfectly complementing her dark blue eyes.

"Tatyana, how am I supposed to face their families? Those three were fine and honorable men, and I led them to their deaths," Malenia turned her head to look at the woman named Tatyana standing beside her.

"They were brave fighters who died fighting for the safety of their homes. They had volunteered for this and understood what it meant to join the hunting party. You don't have to blame yourself, this is not your fault," Tatyana replied empathetically to Malenia.

Upon hearing those words from Tatyana's mouth, Malenia took a deep breath and shook her head.

"Call the men and tell them to load the carcasses of those beasts into the carts. We are heading back to the city!" Malenia exclaimed as she looked at Virgil and Tatyana. Both of them slightly bowed their heads at her words and looked at the two figures standing behind them.

In an instant, those two bowed and left that place, leaving Malenia, Tatyana, and Virgil, who looked at Malenia as if he wanted to say something.

"Lady Baroness, should I call the ride?" He asked. Malenia nodded her head before answering.

"Yes, I want to leave this place as soon as possible and get back to my manor. The longer I stay here, the stronger I feel about my helplessness. I feel furious at my inability to help my people," She told Virgil. Upon hearing her words, Virgil slightly bowed his head again and left her sight.

"I know you are sad that we couldn't save those people but there's nothing we can do about it. Fighting against the entire horde was not an easy task. We are lucky that we survived to see another day. Lady Malenia, you are the hope of the residents of Solana city, you can't lose your cool in front of these men. You have done enough by slaying more than thirty wolves by yourself. Everyone knows that you are the reason why we are still alive today," Tatyana placed her hand over Malenia's shoulder and consoled.

"You can call me big sis when no one is around. After all, you are my little sister, I feel awkward hearing these courteous words from you," Malenia responded indifferently.

Upon hearing those words, a smile appeared on Tatyana's face as she asked, "Ready to go home, big sis?"

"Yeah, let's leave this damn border. I am reeking with the smell of blood," Malenia exclaimed as she patted Tatyana's shoulder. With those words, the two of them left that place and soon descended the mountain to join the rest of the party, which included more than forty people. Most of these people were laborers who were there to collect the bodies of the slain beasts. A large number of carts and carriages could be seen on the road under the mountain as well, containing bodies of the slain horn wolves.

Noticing the arrival of Malenia, everyone started bowing their heads in respect as they cleared a way to the carriage for her. Malenia didn't bother with these people as she made her way to the front with Tatyana and entered the carriage, which soon hit the road.
