Robbery

Mayor James was confused and repeated softly "Order? What does that mean? Just who is this guy?"

"Then what is the second element, Sir Licht?" James inquired again

"Chaos" Licht just said that single word

James looked toward Licht with fascination and confusion in his eyes.

Licht looked at the passing houses and shops and he closed his eyes.

Reminiscing about the old days, fighting and killing beasts, meeting new races as they were developing while destroying others. He sighed as he thought about his life but that was the past. He then thought about the mystery woman that used the power of Chaos and aided him in the battle against the old geezer. He could not understand how she could wield such a powerful element but that was in past now. He had awoken to be a new and better person. He was going to beat some sense into that old geezer that sealed him. He nodded then he opened his eyes again.

"Looks like we have a guest" He chuckled and looked towards Mayor James.

Mayor James quickly understood and muttered" That darned Callisto. I never thought he'd be so bold to try to assassinate me after I got the poison lily"

"You never expected him? Isn't that the reason why you asked to join us in the first place? You figured I'd help you dispose of him since he'd bother me too." Asked Licht in a low tone with a smile on his face as usual.

Mayor James felt the temperature of the carriage drop by several degrees but he was sweating frantically.

"You misunderstand my intentions, Sir Licht. I came along to make sure that Callisto wouldn't bother you since everyone saw us together. I don't want to ruin your view of this my small town" He smiled wryly

"Whatever, go take care of the pest" Licht waved James away.

James nodded and signaled for the coach driver to stop and he got down from the carriage. He spoke" Callisto, come out. I know you're around here somewhere."

There was laughter then mist around "How did you know I was around or was it just a good guess?" Callisto spoke but still did not come out from wherever he was.

"Fine, I guess we would do this the hard way" James sighed then looked towards the carriage.

Licht's eyes were closed, while Midas was looking at the battleground with rapt attention and utter concentration.

"LAVA MOAT" James yelled and all of a sudden, the floor started bubbling and then melting till it became like a stream of molten lava surrounding James.

"Lava tendrils" James muttered another chant and whip-like tentacles slowly emerged from the lava moving towards the mist.

"James, you think placing two AOE spells is enough to stop me. You clearly underestimate me" All of a sudden, a knife was seen coming out of James's shadow, almost about to stab him.

James noticed the blade too late. This was the difference between an enforcer and a caster. Enforcers focus more on close combat, making their physical strength and reflexes faster than casters, while casters mostly focus on spells, making their ether reserves higher but reflexes a whole lot slower.

As the blade was about to pierce James's back, a sigh was heard from the carriage and a lava tendril moved at an insane speed, wrapping around the knife and melting it in the process.

"WHAT!! How were you able to defend that?" Callisto asked stunned

James was also confused. He could not will the tendrils to move that fast especially when he was under pressure like that. He then remembered the sigh he heard from the carriage and realized what happened. Cold sweat was all over his body when he thought about how close to death he was.

Callisto went back into the shadows and the mist receded. He then said, "I do not know how you did it, but I doubt you would be able to do it again due to how your facial expression is, what a lucky bastard."

There was a sound of the coach door opening and then Callisto saw a man come down from the carriage. He was the same man he saw with James earlier. Silver hair that goes all the way down to his feet, silver eyes that glitters like gems.

This man was obviously Licht. When he saw James was about to die, he sighed and waved his hand moving the tendril from where it was, saving James in the process. He saved James because James got him the Ether block, thus repaying the favor.

He chose to get down from the carriage because this Callisto guy was very annoying. Callisto wondered why this guy got down from the carriage. He thought he was weak but important so he went to attack him, thinking that James would panic leading to a mistake.

By the time, he got close to Licht. He noticed that James was shaking his head and sighing, looking at him with an expression of pity. Licht just raised his hand forth and a lava tendril transformed into a spike and pierced right through his chest.

Callisto was surprised and confused because his attention was almost on James throughout and he noticed James did not chant or move. The only person that moved was Licht, he focused on Licht and he noticed Licht still looked unbothered like he currently wasn't impaled on a lava spike right in front of him. Callisto died thinking who killed him was James and without knowing how he died so fast. Was Licht also a Lava ether caster? Why was this man so unbothered like a bug just died in his presence?

Licht just shook his head, picked a bag from the assassin, and walked back into the carriage. Callisto started burning from the inside till he became ashes. James deactivated the Lava moat, bowed towards the carriage, and told the coach driver to take Licht to the inn.

The coach driver thought it was James that killed Callisto and saved Licht so he looked at James with fanatism and respect. James could not help but smile wryly "If only you knew," he said internally.

The coach driver departed and dropped Licht and Midas in the inn and left shortly after. Midas was also looking at Licht with awe because he knew it was his master that just killed the assassin that most people in this town feared, even the town mayor almost died in his hands.

Getting to the inn, Midas was so excited he was finally going to embark on the road to cultivation but he had to wait because he thought Licht would need some rest after "one-shotting" the assassin.
