Living Room, The Rawsone Residence, Denver, Colorado...
The ticking on the clock that hung on the far end of the living room wall had been the only sound aside from Dr. Hadrian Rawsone's low breaths that filled the darkened living room as he sat alone in silence trying to wrap his head around how quickly his life had been turned upside down. One moment he'd been sharing a bed with his pregnant wife, the next he'd been called to the hospital with news that not only had their unborn child not survived, but that she too would succumb to her injuries due to the accident. To make matters worse, Hadrian had not been able to process his emotions at all let alone the aspect of grief for the two of them even as he sat in darkness at home alone for the first time in a very long time.
The sound of ticking continued as Hadrian sat staring at the blank television as he attempted to assess how everything had gone so wrong for him since the death of their third child and now here he was attempting to mourn the loss of another along with his wife with his mind unable to process the magnitude of the loss due to his stint in a medical facility.
He had known Julia for quite some time, he'd awoken in bed next to her since he'd been sixteen years old and for the first time since they had been married, she wasn't going to be there when he first opened his eyes. Unable to take much more of the silence, Hadrian opted to turn on the television due to staring at it for so long.
The good doctor had not planned on watching anything, just letting it run in the background so as not to feel so alone in the empty house with his wife now dead and his twin daughters back at college.
The girls.
He had not known how he was going to break the news to the girls about their mother and potential sibling meeting an untimely end. He'd been having a difficult enough time processing it himself and conveying such a tragic set of circumstances to his daughters wasn't going to be easy with his current condition and lack of emotional response.
Hadrian sighed as he clicked on the television attempting to get his mind off the inevitable, as he flipped through channels only to find himself watching a tape that had been inside the V.C.R. He had been confused about it at first until he found himself looking at an alive Julia Rawsone wearing what appeared to have been a lovely dark green dress with white pearls around her neck and wrist as she sat before the apparent camera.
Hadrian had taken a moment to appreciate how truly beautiful his wife had been and how full of life it seemed given the condition she'd been in when on video. He had wondered what event this had been when he noticed the date had been set ironically for the time frame where he had disappeared, or rather the day of as he watched what she had in store for him.
{"Hadrian, if you are watching this then you know that I am already gone and do not wish to be found."} she began.
Hadrian appeared to be caught off guard by what she was saying as her voice changed from a pleasant greeting to a rather harsh and candid tone.
{"I do not want to be with you anymore and It's high time that you accept it, I have moved on and found someone available for me when I need them and not when it's convenient in his work schedule."} she said staring rather harshly into the camera.
{"I don't love you Hadrian and I don't think I ever did."} she continued much to Hadrian's unregistered shock. {"What happened between us had been a matter of circumstance and I see that now, I'm in love with someone else...in love with Gary and he's in love with me."}
Hadrian had been at a loss for words and breath when he saw Gary walk up and kiss his wife on the lips.
{"By the time you see this video, I'll be long gone...and getting started on my new life with Gary, I'm filing for divorce first thing in the morning and will talk with the girls about it but they are adults and have lives of their own. I cannot and I will not be with you anymore Hadrian, there's nothing left for us but to say goodbye...Gary and I have our own lives to live and while I am sorry that I am leaving this way, I am not sorry for leaving I don't love you anymore so move on."}
The video clicked off and Julia's rather smug words cut through Hadrian like a knife through butter.
The flash of images that filled his mind had been almost too much for Hadrian to handle as his mind took him back to that day he'd been kidnapped and the package that had been waiting for him in his desk drawer. The photos of his late wife Julia having sex with his so-called best friend Gary Sanders in some cheap roadside motel.
He'd been so shocked and humiliated by it that he had not seen nor heard the person that approached him before everything had gone dark and he woke up with drugs in his system and tied up in some strange barn with a blond-haired woman with blue eyes glaring at him murderously as she straddled his waist and forced his cock inside her.
Doctor Hadrian Rawsone collapsed right there in his living room with the television still playing the vile message from his now late cheating wife and the smug expression on his fake best friend's face at having been sleeping with her the whole time only made his agony all the worse.
Julia, his Julia had been having an affair with Gary Sanders and both had been possibly still carrying it on behind his back for who knew how long. The baby he believed had been his was possibly Gary's child and he'd been mourning it and Julia since he left the hospital following Gary's call.
Hadrian gasped for breath as his body began to fill with anxiousness. She'd been lying to him the whole time, she never loved him at all everything they ever shared had been a lie to supplement her lifestyle for her and the girls.
Everything faded to black as his body stopped struggling against the tension within.
