"It's not impossible for you to work," Li Jingshen loosened his tone, "You can prepare breakfast and dinner for me, just as you used to, according to my preferences."
Shen Zhichu knew there would be conditions from Li Jingshen. "What if I don't agree?" she asked.
"Then you can forget about going out," Li Jingshen replied, aware that it would take more than a day or two to tame the rebellious Shen Zhichu. "You know I can make that happen."
To a certain extent, Li Jingshen had the power to ignore the law unless he ended up bankrupt like her, but the possibility of that was quite slim. "Why don't you ask Xia Mingyue to cook for you?" Shen Zhichu questioned, "Her conversations at the dinner table seem to suit your taste. Why not let her do it?"
Li Jingshen responded indifferently, "I've grown tired of her cooking and want to try something new. Be honest with your cooking, or I'll lock you up like last time."
