Gastric Attack

When they saw Gu Minghuai, their expressions changed.

The eldest sister-in-law of the Gu family poked her husband at the side and smiled amiably. "Fourth brother, you were at home. I saw that the little girl was eating dinner alone so I thought you weren't here."

The eldest brother of the Gu family quickly tried to smooth things over. "When mom found out that you brought a girl back, she was very curious. She sent us over to take a look."

"Are you done?" Gu Minghuai took the elevator downstairs. The butler quickly stepped forward and supported his wheelchair. He heard the fourth master say in a casual tone, "You can leave now that you're done."

Only the master of the Gu family could stay in the main residence. The rest of the people were all assigned to various side residences. However, under normal circumstances, if the master allowed it, there had been cases of parents and brothers moving in together. Now that Ning Shan could stay but the eldest brother and sister-in-law couldn't even stay a moment longer, this was undoubtedly the biggest slap in their face.

The two of them left resentfully. Ning Shan took the opportunity to leave the dining table, she took the wheelchair from the butler and said in a soft voice, "Thank you."

Gu Minghuai was expressionless. He replied coldly, "Send me back."

There was no need to continue eating. Ning Shan felt relieved and a smile appeared on her face as she happily sent Gu Minghuai back to the study.

As she had slept for quite a bit during the day, Ning Shan tossed and turned on the bed at night. Just as she was staring at the ceiling in a daze, her phone rang. The caller ID showed that the other party was the daughter of the patient next to her father, the family knew that she couldn't take care of her father much, so they often helped out whenever they could.

Ning Shan felt a chill on her back, feeling that her phone was like a hot potato at this very moment. She hesitated for a long time before picking it up. If one listened carefully, one could hear that her voice was trembling. "Sister Gao, why did you call so late? Is there something wrong?"

The nurse came over today and urged us to pay the fees a few times. I think your father wants to be discharged from the hospital and not be treated."

"How can that be possible!" Ning Shan was worried.

Sister Gao Sighed. "I asked about the situation. Your father's chemotherapy was not very effective. The doctor suggested that we operate as soon as possible. Otherwise, the cancer cells would spread and it would be impossible to treat it even if we wanted to. How much money do you still need? I still have tens of thousands in my hands. I can lend it to you for the time being."

Ning Shan swallowed the bitterness in her heart and rejected with a hoarse voice, "There's no need. I'll be able to gather the money in two days. I'll go over tomorrow to take a look."

"Mr. Gu?"

Ning Shan's called softly but that did not wake Gu Minghuai up. She slowly entered the room and saw the man pressing his stomach with both of his hands. He was sweating profusely and seemed to have fainted.
