12 Being your last and only love

After a few minutes Genesis composed herself and wiped her tears away. She felt so weird….

Usually she isn't this emotional. Even on the day of her parent's funeral or when she found out her ex-fiance cheated on her she didn't break down and cry. She simple stared into the view she got and completely closed off. She stopped talking. She became cold and indifferent to everyone else. She ignored her pain not knowing that she was just hurting herself more by doing this.

She thought that everything would be okay if she just ignored it. Little did she know that by doing this she not only hurt herself but also the person she cares about the most; her brother. She kept away from him. She was selfish and closed off from everyone because of the pain. She forgot that she was not the only one that lost a part of herself that day. She forgot that she was not the only one that lost her parents. Ethan was also in pain. He didn't only lose his parents but his sister. He watched as she slowly deteriorated inside.

Jason, who watched his best friend like this, decided that the deal must take place. He knew there was one person that could help Genesis get back to her old self. Maybe it was meant to be. At the end he really did help her. Not just emotionally but other than that she became more skilled. She learned to be passionate about her work. Now she can tell that she is finally ready. She can feel that she will be able to make her parents proud. She is finally where she needs to be. All thanks to this one person.

'Wow so eventful.' She thought.

How eventful really….

Genesis cleared her throat."Thank you for this...I appreciate it." She admitted. Aiden smiled." I guess you owe me one then huh?" Genesis laughed and dried her tears. She took a minute to admire the still running rainbow and smiled. She got up and dusted off her pants. Aiden offered her a hand and she took it. They walked towards the crystal and Genesis stopped it from moving causing the rainbow to stop as well. The moving colors stopped into just one position.

"It must have taken you long…"She told him."En it was worth it."He responded. Genesis smiled."Did you just set it up today?"She asked seeing that it was working quite well despite being so old.

"Yes. I got someone to make it look like new again." He responded."Is there a way I can take my gift with me?"She asked and attempted to act cute. Seeing her like that he chuckled in amusement."I'll send it over to your apartment then." He agreed."Oh, my apartment is too small, send it to my brother's house instead. Thank you again." Told him as they both covered it with the white piece of cloth."Sure."Aiden answered.

He felt an unusual happiness within him when he saw her smile. Knowing that he is the reason behind her smile makes him even more pleased. He truly wishes to be the reason behind her happy tears, her laughs, and her every smile.

"Should we go out for lunch?"He asked and checked the time once again. Genesis shook her head."No it's fine I'm still full since it was not long ago that we ate breakfast."Let's go inside…" they went inside and she gasped when she saw the beautifully decorated inside of the cabin.

They had rustic decor now and it looked more like a cozy home than before."I did maintain it cleaned all these years just in case, you ever came back it would not all be dusty and worn out." He explained.

There were pictures of her family on the stands. Pictures she took during their last vacation. She couldn't help but tear up again. With her hands she touched every picture frame and held in her sobs. After her parents passed away she refused to look at any of their pictures because she could not even remember their smiles. She could no longer picture herself smiling together with them. She felt like it was not necessary to remember all their happy memories now that they are gone.

Now that she looked at their smiling faces she realized just how much she needed this.' It's best to remember them as the happy people they were…' She thought. Even though she would be pressured to be the heir of her family her parents always gave her time and cared for her.

Maybe they were not a normal family like the rest but her parents made sure to give her a happy childhood. Family trips were not often but when they did happen everyone would vote for a place to go and they made sure to do so many fun activities together.

They would pack up their schedule with these activities to have the fullest experience since they were aware that another trip might not come the following year due to their responsibilities. It truly always felt so rushed. That last summer everything was especially rushed because she would go to college and start taking over the company slowly.

She felt happy that she at least has this one summer to remember their time together. Finally she came to the last picture frame of Aiden and her near the lake. A photograph taken by Jason.

Jason had always been Ethan's childhood friend and they always hung out so that summer he also joined her family on that trip. Jason had decided to bring his oldest brother along to cheer him up and also make him meet Genesis. They had not met earlier because they are both heirs to their families and were busy in their own preparations. Not to mention that Aiden had always had the plan of building his own company in mind so he always excluded himself from going to social gatherings and things that would 'waste' his time. But now he regretted not being able to meet her sooner and stopped her heart from being broken by a scum.

"Gen…" He called out and she turned around to face him. He held her hand and took out a locket from his pocket. He placed it in her hand and once again wiped her tears away with his thumb."It's for you...I hoped to give it to you earlier but we never got the chance." He explained.

"I once heard someone say this and I think it applies to us so I would like to tell it to you."He continued and caressed her cheek. Genesis was a surprise and lost for words.

It was a silver locket and it held a small picture they took together. They were in the lake. The sun setting and they were together holding hands. It looked like a teenage couple but behind it is a backstory. Genesis had slipped on a wet rock and Aiden had held her. Seeing the position they were in Jason took the chance to take the picture.

Behind the locket 'ILG' was engraved in it. Genesis looked it over and wondered why it has the same name as ILG International{Aiden's company}

She looked up to meet his eyes and was stunned. He looked at her with such a warm expression. She never thought he would look at her in such away.

"I may not be your first love but I can work on being your last"

"Gen I just wanted to inform you that I'm officially chasing after you."

Genesis froze in place.

'W-what did he just say?!'
