Standing Up to Power

After a moment of uncomfortable silence, he simply nodded and waved his hand dismissively. "Just make sure that it stays that way, Mel. I just don't want any drama or scandals affecting this company."

Her blood ran cold at the sudden change in his tone. She could feel his eyes on her, and she knew that he was trying to intimidate her. But she wasn't one to back down so easily.

She turned to face him, meeting his gaze with a steely determination. "Is that all, Mr. Blodwyn? Or is there something else that you wanted to discuss with me?"

His eyes flickered with a hint of surprise at her sudden change in tone. He leaned back in his chair, observing her with interest. "What are you suggesting, Mel?" There was a hint of amusement in his voice.

"I'm just wondering if there's anything else you want to talk about."
