Growing Attraction

Morgan couldn't shake off the sense of unease that had settled in his gut as he drove to the office. It wasn't just the feeling of something being off at the manor house - there was something deeper, something he couldn't quite put his finger on.

As he drove, his thoughts drifted to his parents. They were successful businesspeople, but at what cost? He couldn't help but wonder if they had sacrificed too much in pursuit of wealth and power. Were they truly happy, or were they just going through the motions?

Morgan had always been a keen observer of his parents' relationship, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that they were faking their happiness in their marriage.

He had seen them put on a facade in front of others, smiling and laughing, but behind closed doors, their conversations were often cold and distant. They rarely showed any affection towards each other, and he couldn't remember the last time he had seen them share a genuine moment of intimacy.

It made Morgan wonder if he would end up in a similar situation one day. He was in a committed relationship with Sarah, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something missing.

They were both successful in their respective careers and shared many interests, but he couldn't help but feel like they were just going through the motions, exactly like his parents.

It's not uncommon for people to feel conflicted in such situations, and Morgan was no exception. On the one hand, he enjoyed spending time with Sarah and appreciated the stability and comfort that came with being in a committed relationship.

However, on the other hand, he also craved excitement and new experiences, and sometimes felt like he's missing out on something by being in a monogamous relationship.

This internal conflict can lead to feelings of guilt and shame, as he knew that what he's doing wasn't entirely fair to Sarah. He may also feel confused and unsure of what he really wanted, and struggled with the decision to either commit fully to Sarah or continue exploring other options.

Morgan couldn't help but think back to the conversation he had with Melody the other day about commitment. It was true that he was still in a relationship with Sarah, but he couldn't help feeling that something was missing. He enjoyed spending time with her, but he wasn't sure if he was ready for a serious commitment.

Melody's words had struck a chord with him, making him question his own motives and desires. He knew he couldn't keep leading Sarah on if he wasn't fully committed, but he also didn't want to give up his freedom and the excitement of dating other women. It was a complicated and confusing situation, and he wasn't sure what the right choice was.

He let out a sigh and turned up the radio, hoping to distract himself from his thoughts. But as he pulled up to the office building and saw the bustling crowds of people rushing in and out, he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread.

As he pulled into the parking lot of his office building, he made a mental note to speak to Sarah about his concerns. He didn't want to end up like his parents, trapped in a loveless marriage just for the sake of appearances. He wanted to be truly happy and fulfilled in his relationship, even if it meant making some tough decisions.

"Here we go," he muttered to himself as he got out of the car and made his way inside.

When he arrived at his office, Melody was already waiting for him. As his personal assistant, she was always prompt and efficient. He had always appreciated her efficiency and attention to detail, but lately he had started to notice something else about her - a warmth and kindness that he found very comforting.

He couldn't help but notice her confident and poised demeanor. She was always focused on her work and seemed to effortlessly handle any task he gave her. He had known her for a long time now, but he felt a pang of regret for not giving her the attention she deserved.

"Good morning, Mr. Blodwyn," Melody greeted him with a warm smile. "I've already compiled the reports you requested for today's meeting. And, I've also scheduled a meeting with Mr. Johnson from the investment firm."

Morgan smiled in response to Melody's greeting. "Good morning, Mel. You're always on top of things," he replied as he walked into his office.

Melody followed him inside his office and handed him a file. "Here are the reports you requested. And the meeting with Mr. Johnson is set for noon at The Enchanted Chateau."

He nodded, taking the file from her. "Great, thank you. Oh, and Melody, can you also schedule a dinner reservation for me tonight at The Garden? And maybe send a gift basket to Sarah's office, it's her birthday tomorrow."

Her smile faltered slightly, but she quickly composed herself. "Certainly, Mr. Blodwyn. I'll take care of it right away," she replied with a nod.

Morgan noticed the slight change in her expression and wondered if he had crossed a line. "Is everything alright, Mel?" he asked, genuinely concerned.

She forced a smile back on her face. "Yes, everything's fine. I'll take care of the reservations and gift basket for you, Mr. Blodwyn."

"I'll make sure the reservation is set for 7 pm tonight at The Garden. And for the gift basket, would you like me to include any specific items?"

Morgan thought for a moment before replying, "Just purchase some jewelleries and flowers should be fine."

"Alright then. Is there anything else you need?"

"Actually, Mel," Morgan said, pausing for a moment. "On second thought, scratch that. Instead of The Garden, can you book a table for two at La Trattoria? And for the gift basket, can you change it to a bouquet of her favorite flowers instead?"

Melody nodded, her fingers flying over her notepad as she made the changes. "Consider it done, Mr. Blodwyn. Is there anything else you need me to take care of for today?"

Morgan paused for a moment. "Actually, yes. Can you make arrangements for me to attend the charity gala next Monday? I want to make a sizeable donation and possibly get involved in their fundraising efforts."

"Sure, I'll get right on it. Which charity is it?"

"The Children's Hospital. I've been wanting to get more involved with their work for a while now."

Melody made a note on her pad. "I'll reach out to them and see what we can do to help."

"Also, Mel," Morgan added, "I need you to book me two flight tickets to London for next week. I have a meeting with some potential investors and I want to be there in person."

She looked up from her notepad, a curious expression on her face. "Two tickets, Mr. Blodwyn? May I ask who the other ticket is for?"
