Really surprising

 Just as Selena was about to speak, James again postponed the agenda in Selena's mind. This time the husband told Selena to cut the distance between the two of them, in the sense that Selena was told to get closer to James.

 Now Selena was scared, of course she was. This is more horror than the scene where a character is told to walk in a dark haunted house.
