Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

“Lin Yunfeng! Stop right there!” Lin Yunfeng gazed back at the speeding figure behind him. Heart racing, he picked up speed and ran through the abandoned corridor. “You better stop Yunfeng!!” Ren Muchen growled loudly. The little brat was much faster than he had expected. “This is how you wish to face me after you fucking slept with me? Fine! Run then! Let’s see how long you can last,” Panting Lin Yunfeng looked back in panic. “I’m so sorry, it was a mistake. think of it as Stepping on shit. Please forgive me!” he placed a hand on his lower stomach and ran even faster. “Watch out!” Yunfeng gazed ahead in surprise. a half-rotten corpse stood in his way. He came to a screeching halt but the slippery floor made it hard for him to come to a complete stop. He fell unceremoniously face down on the ground. “Fuck,” The zombie jumped onto him with its mouth wide open. Its bloody saliva dripped onto his face. Yunfeng held his breath. He had read about this before but this was the first time he had actually seen an undead. It petrified him. ‘Is this how I die?’ “Growl,” the beast aimed at his neck precisely, Just as he thought his life was coming to an end, a long axe cut through the decayed neck of the Zombie. The heavy zombie fell right on top of him, oozing blood and puss. A hand grabbed him by his collar and lifted him up. “You are not dying, not today, not anytime soon...” Ren Muchen said with a nasty grin/ Yunfeng gulped. Muchen peered into his trembling black eyes coldly. “You know why?” because we are having a baby.” Yunfeng’s hand reflectively went into his tummy. “h-how do you know?” “You knew?! Yet you ran!” Muchen laughed coldly and shook him like a rattle. “Take responsibility you bastard, we created a life that day! “y-yes, I’ll take responsibility!”

Chapter 8 - The posioned onion soup

Lin Yunfeng adjusted his black tie and gazed at his reflection. His short hair was combed back, revealing his pale forehead and delicate eyebrows. His eyes shimmered slightly as he gazed down at the white shirt and black pants he was wearing.

In his past life, he had worn a lot of suits but none made him happy as wearing this one.

He pinned the name tag on his chest with a prideful smile on his face.

"Wow you look so creepy smiling to yourself like that," Jai said sneakily from behind.

"Not even your snarky remark can ruin my mood. 70 dollars an hour! Jai thank you so much."

Jai nodded. "Work hard. I'll prepare the notes for you," he came close and adjusted the black tie on his collar. "it's a high-end restaurant…"

"I know I have to behave."

"No, there will be many cocky rich people coming in and out. If anyone bothers you don't be silent. You don't have to take shit from these people."

"Are you even allowed to say that?" he raised a brow. He was a server. Technically, in the service industry, he had no option but to bite his teeth and tolerate rude customers. Jai was instructing him to do the opposite.

"Why not? It's my dad's place, which is technically mine by name. You as my friend have the privilege to behave as you wish." Jai patted his chest.

Yunfeng smirked widely. "You spoil me so much, man."

"Shut up and get out there. I'll be here preparing your notes. Which subject do you want to handle first?"

Yunfeng thought about it for a moment. "History," he was quite curious about the history of this alternate world.

"Got it" Jai silently sat down and started to scribble in a new notebook.

Smiling Yunfeng ruffled his curly black hair.

Jai gazed up with his spectacles hanging low. "Are you done treating me like a dog?"

"Hehe no," Yunfeng ran out of there and when he was out the door he walked calmly into the kitchen. His job was to serve the orders. He technically did not need to communicate with anyone. All he had to do was carry the dishes to the tables.

"You, you're the new part-timer right?" another server called from him

Yunfeng walked up to him and bowed slightly. "My name is Yunfeng, please guide me senior."

"Want to try your hand at modeling,"

Yunfeng looked up and peered at the man's face. He had bleached blond hair with a few curls hanging on the front of his face. The man had a unique face. He had wide-set eyes and a small nose with thin lips. But all of those features went well with the playful smile on his face.

"I'm Liang," The man waved a hand over his face. "I'm not a bad person, I work as a part-time model at a place nearby. If you want, I can hook you up. they are always looking for fresh faces like yours."

"Oh, I'll think about it,"

Yunfeng smiled kindly. He had no interest in going into the entertainment industry. Even though he was desperate for money he did not wish to take a risky job like that. The entertainment industry is always veiled in a fog but as a rich tenth generation, he knew what kind of shit happens in there.

"Private room five," the kind senior handed him two sets of plates on a fancy tray. "One tip kid, don't smile."

Yunfeng frowned. he was always told he had a pleasant smile. "Is it wrong to smile?"

"You might attract some wild people. Just a warning from a kind senior." He patted his shoulders and left to take orders from another table.

shrugging Yunfeng carried the tray carefully out of the kitchen into the dining area.

The place was beautifully decorated like one of those mini cafés he had seen in the 35th century.

'I used to hang out at places like this... sigh how things change…' he carried the order carefully to the private room.

Before he could knock, someone walked up beside him.

It was a middle-aged lady dressed in a sleek green silk gown that hugged her curves. She kindly smiled up at him. Without a warning, she reached out and touched his forehead.

Yunfeng backed away slightly.

"Oh, you have something on your forehead." Smiling, she walked into the private room.

Yunfeng did not continue into the room. The first thing he did was return to the kitchen. "Please make the dishes for the private room five again," he instructed.

everyone looked his way.

"Did you drop it?" Liang came up to him with a slight frown. "The plates look intact though…" his frown deepened.

With a cold look, Yunfeng placed it on the table. "Some lady dropped something in the onion soup." He took the small bowl of onion soup and sniffed it. There was a weird, bitter scent in there. It was very subtle but his nose was able to catch the bitter notes in there.

When that lady reached out to his forehead, he saw something falling into the soup. He did not see clearly back then.

Yunfeng frowned,

"I'll make a new batch," frowning the cook hastened to make the dishes again.

Yunfeng personally emptied out the dishes with a cold look in his eyes. He had sniffed such a scent before. It was a very low dose of cyanide.

In his past life someone had tried to poison him as well. That time he escaped thanks to his keen senses he could smell the difference in the food.

'even in 25th century things like this happen…'

Initially, he thought it might have been one of the gems that had fallen off her bracelet, but what he did not expect was this.

To think that woman was trying to poison another person right in front of him was ridiculous.

If the patron the private room had died because of this, the blame will fall on him, the new server.

'Fuck this place is dangerous,'

Yunfeng bit his lips anxiously.

He did not wish to get involved with that lady's affairs. But he also did not wish to hide the poisoning matter from the unsuspecting patron.

There was only one person who can help him decide. He ran into the changing room.

Seeing his anxious face, Jai stood up. "What happened? Did anyone grope you?"

"This Is the first thing you assume when I run to you?"

"Well, it's the most obvious thing I could think of." He pulled him to sit down. "What happened?"

"Well, I was told to serve this private room. when I was out to serve, this lady came by and dropped something in the soup. I thought it was just some hair or something. Didn't want anything to ruin our reputation so I sent it back to the kitchen. But when I sniffed it, I smelled something funky. I think she might be trying to poison someone." He said that all in one breath panting. "So, what do I do?"

Jai blinked at him. "Someone did what now?"

"The lady tried to poison someone. I drained the soup in fear someone might eat it. so….. we can't call the police. She did it so craftily I'm sure that the cameras would not have caught it. what do I do now?"

Jai tore a small sheet of paper and handed him a pen. "don't get too involved. These people are all rich and powerful. If you start accusing someone without proper proof, they will retaliate harshly. Let's simply warn the other person in the room subtly. After that, it is not our business."

Yunfeng nodded with a bright look in his eyes. "Okay I'll pass that person the note,"

He simply wrote down a short sentence and folded it up into a small crane.

Jai raised an eyebrow at him. "a crane?"

"If I get caught passing the note, I can always say a kid or a beautiful girl asked me to pass this note,"

Jai smirked. "Smart."

With the small crane in hand, Yunfeng went to the kitchen and picked up the orders again.

Yunfeng took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Come in," a calm voice answered.

Yunfeng walked in with his head lowered, he gently placed the dishes on the table. Subtly he cast a glance at the lady. She had a bright smile on her face as she looked at the onion soup.

he felt a cold sweat dripping down his back.

'God this woman is a cold-hearted killer.' He then looked at the unsuspected victim.

To his surprise, a pair of brown pupils were already looking his way curiously.

Yunfeng almost dropped the plate in his hand. Trembling slightly, he placed it on the table.

"Muchen ah, looks like his little boy is a fan of yours."

Yunfeng lowered his head. 'it's him! Ren Muchen.'

"oh, look at him blushing," the lady leaned forward and tapped his forearm. "You can get his autograph if you want,"

Yunfeng looked her way with an unknown look in his eyes. 'This lady is so good at pretending to be so kind… how on earth did this guy know a person like her?'

"Here," Muchen suddenly handed a small tissue to him. On it was a beautiful elegant sign.

"Thank you," as he was collecting that time, he let it drop intentionally. "oh, excuse me," he leaned down.

Subtly he placed the small crane in the star's hand.

The person's hand stilled and opened trying to drop the piece of paper.

Yunfeng clenched the other person's hand tightly.

He stood up with the small tissue. "Please call me if you need anything," he bowed and left.
