A genetically engineered warrior constructed and confined by a certain divine being is suddenly let loose upon the multiverse when the being's domain is in danger of being destroyed. Read to follow Arcann's journey through your favorite anime/cultivation universes.
In the city of Sendai, on a warm summer morning, a wormhole opened up in the middle of the sky, revealing an old man standing within.
This was Arcann.
"The power reading on the artifact wasn't high so this place is not a world of gods and demons. Then this should be a good starting place. I only have a few minutes to find a body before my spirit dissipates."
Arcann stepped out of the wormhole and levitated in the sky, his orange eyes darting around the city.
'A modern city huh? I remember places like this when I used to travel the multiverse before. Things haven't changed much. Especially the people. Most of them are so...weak.'
Arcann levitated around the city, scanning any human he could that was suitable for possession.
Time was running out, and he had to make a choice.
"Tch."
Arcann located a hospital that was closeby and phased through the walls, looking at multiple patients and family members.
Of course, since he was a spirit, no one could see him.
His eyes afforded him the ability to estimate the physical power of one's body.
Not one matched up to his requirements.
Just as he was about to leave, the sounds of a baby crying brought his attention to a certain family.
A woman laying on the bed with stitches across her head, smiling, a studious looking man with glasses complete with short light colored hair, and an older man standing next to them, his eyes fixated on the woman.
Within the man's arms was a small baby with light pink hair wrapped in a white cloth.
It seems as if the woman just had the aforementioned child.
Arcann stopped and looked at the family as a smile appeared across his face.
"That woman, she's possessed by something. The older man seems to know, but her husband...doesn't want to acknowledge that fact. But that's besides the point. The husband has a body that can hold my power for a while. That child..."
Arcann could tell from one glance. This child wasn't completely human. He could tell that when he grows up, his physical body will be impeccable.
"...is the perfect vessel. For now, I'll use that man as my first vessel."
With incredible speed, Arcann turned into a cloud of smoke and entered the man's body even as he held his son. Without skipping a beat, Arcann assimilated the man's soul and mind, taking control of his body instantly.
No one even knew that something like that happened in front of them.
As Arcann held the baby in his arms, he thought, 'So this man's name was Jin Itadori. The woman Kaori, the old man, Wasuke, and the child, Yuji. For now, I'll take his name. Jin Itadori, upstanding family man. Heh, funny.'
Arcann, now known to the public as Jin, gave the baby to Wasuke and said, "I'll be right back, father. I need to use the bathroom."
Wasuke readily held the baby and gave him a light hug as Jin smiled at Kaori before stepping into the hallway.
'Grow up well, little Yuji. Heh, your father will be looking out for you.'
With that, Jin walked calmly away from the hospital, away from his 'family', for the time being.
Jin blended into the people walking along the streets, just enjoying the feeling of being free again.
"It's been a long time since I've felt fresh air on my face."
Jin just continued to walk aimlessly for a few hours, exploring the city and getting an understanding for the Japanese culture himself.
He had gained all of that information from the mind of the body he just possessed, but he still wanted to see it for himself.
'This city isn't that big, and it's almost in the countryside, so it's perfect for some training. I just need to find a nice place to practice for while.'
Jin wandered around town until he arrived in a part of town that could hardly be called part of the city. One could tell that this was a place where law abiding citizens would not wander.
By this time, the sun had gone down and the sky had become littered with shining stars.
The sound of music assailed his ears as he started walking down a dark alleyway leading deeper into that part of the city.
Scantily dressed women leaned on the walls, most of them smoking cigarettes while others did stronger drugs.
"Let's have some fun, pretty eyes."
One of them put their hands over him and stared into his eyes in an attempt to get him to pay for her 'business.'
Jin's now orange eyes darted around the alleyway as a small smile appeared on his face, "Maybe next time, ladies."
Jin slithered out of her hold and continued walking down the alleyway, ignoring the calls of any other workers.
'If 'that energy' existed here, indulging in them would have helped me regain my powers much quicker. Tch, no use on lingering on the past now.'
As he exited the alleyway, Jin found himself in a neighborhood filled with shady people and dilapidated houses.
Being a young man wearing business casual clothing and regular glasses, he stood out greatly.
'I'll find an empty house I can train in. Hopefully one with a basement.'
Jin whistled to the music playing out of the corner store as he crossed the street and started looking at the houses around town.
As one would expect though, it didn't take long for attention to gravitate towards him.
SCREECH!!
Three shady looking men in suits that were passing by in a car suddenly did a U-turn and pulled up alongside him.
One of them, a man that was just over 2 meters, kicked open the car door and walked up to Jin, staring down at him.
"Hey pal, you know where you are right now?"
The man took the cigar out of his mouth and blew smoke in Jin's face, not even paying attention to the seemingly weak man in front of him.
Jin adjusted his glasses and said calmly, "Of course I do. Do you have a problem with me being here?"
The man glanced down at Jin, took another big pull of the cigar, and tossed the remains at his face.
Jin smacked it to the ground and stepped closer to the man, staring into his eyes as he did so.
The man smirked.
"Seems like you've got some balls. Good! At least I won't feel too bad about beating the piss out of you."
WHOOSH!
Wind whistled through the man's sleeves as he reached out to grab Jin by his collar in an attempt to throw him.
Jin ducked under the man's claws and swept him off of his feet.
"What the-"
CRASH!
The man didn't even have time to finish what he was about to say before a heavy axe kick landed on the side of his neck, twisting it 360°.
THUD.
The man was dead before he even hit the ground.
The other two men in the car saw this and rushed out at Jin, both armed with sharp weapons.
'A knife and...a machete. Perfect.'
Contrary to their expectations, instead of running away, Jin sprinted towards them, closing the gap almost instantly.
The first man with a knife lunged at him with the serrated weapon extended forwards.
Jin easily stepped to the side and elbowed the man in his temple. His skull was fractured the blow and he was sent barreling down the street.
Jin ignored his screams of pain and aimed at the next man, more specifically, the weapon in his hands.
Seeing what happened to his friends, he knew Jin wasn't some chump they could pick on.
But, it was already too late for him to escape this situation.
"AHHHH!"
Filled with fear and anger, combined with adrenaline just surging through his body, the man swung his machete at Jin wildly, hoping that he could draw some blood somewhere.
"Hm."
Jin just backed off, picked up a stone and threw it at the man's head, immediately stopping his wanton machete rampage.
"URGH! SHIT!"
As the man staggered back, Jin closed the gap and clenched his fists even harder, with veins audibly popping.
'Fifty-two Fists.'
This was a move he learned a long time ago. A combination of lightning fast punches that were executed in less than 5 seconds.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
If one didn't have total commitment in yhe absolute destruction of their opponent, the technique would fail.
BOOM!
Unfortunately for his attackers though, Jin was a man of extreme focus and will.
THUD.
Jin stopped after just five punches, as he watched the man's body crumble to the ground.
The man died after the first three.
The fourth pulverized all of his abdominal bones.
The fifth crushed his abdominal organs.
No more needed to be done after that.
Before the man could completely fall, Jin grabbed his machete and walked over to the last man who was just struggling back up, holding the blade in a reverse grip.
"Ah, this brings back memories."
Jin missed conflict. For him, this was a high that couldn't be matched by anything else.
"W-who are you?! Forget that! Do you know who we are?! When the boss finds out about this, the whole Yakuza will come down on you!"
The man gripped the knife with one hand and held his head with the other. His vision was blurry, but he could make out Jin's figure coming closer.
"Shit! Stay back!"
The man tried to lunge at Jin again, only for Jin to immediately cut his forearm off with the machete.
The slash was so fast that the man could've sworn that Jin didn't even move from the spot he stood.
Just as he was about to howl in pain, Jin put his hand over the man's mouth, gripping it tightly, covering it completely.
Tears ran down his face as he struggled to stop his stub from bleeding.
"Shh. Just answer my questions by nodding your head for yes, or shaking it for no. First, does your group have a nice building?"
The man slowly nodded.
"Does your boss have a nice office? Nice car?"
The man nodded again.
"Hm."
Jin laid his machete on the ground and rummaged through the man's suit pockets, finding a card that had the words, 'Kageokami-kai' written on them.
"This is the name of your gang, isn't it?"
The man nodded frantically, his eyes looking down at the blood leaking from his stub.
"Good. You still have one arm. Drive me there."
Jin let the man go, picked up his machete and tucked it in his belt. He then grabbed the two dead men and threw them in the back seat of the car they initially arrived in.
Of course, by this time, there were spectators around but nobody was going to say anything. They knew what kind of men the trio were.
Jin then got into the front seat, laid his blade on his lap and waited patiently for the man to get in.
'Plans have changed. Why train in an old house by myself when I can have a small army working under me to tend to my needs? These fools delivered themselves on a silver platter.'
The last man, knowing that he had no way out except for his boss killing Jin, struggled into the driver's seat with tears running down his face.
He had to bring this fiend to justice no matter what.
"If you don't hurry up, you might bleed out before you even get there."
The man's stomach lurched at Jin's words.
'Why is he acting as if all of this is normal?!'
But he wasn't going to say anything to Jin. His stub throbbed in pain with every movement he made.
The man turned the car on and slowly drove to the Kageokami-kai HQ, not even glancing at Jin along the way.
Hopefully, his brothers could kill him.
Surely, a syndicate of over 200 men could kill one man, right?
