Chapter 6: For the love of maids

it took max and ai sayama 2 days to reach the capital, during this two days max tried to press ai sayama´s bumpy figure under him again but this proved futile as even though his ability was better than hers, she was a higher rank thus having much more strength.

" have you heard of the seekers ?" she asked

" no, who or what are they ?" max asked, " they are a defeated faction of the royal family of Lu, after Lu the seeker died he died with out choosing an heir", " Lu the seeker had 3 sons and after his death the 3 fought among them selves one of them died and the other escaped with his faction"

max couldn't understand how such a wise man did not choose an heir "the ones that escaped" she continued " are rumored to be the seekers and claim to be the orthodox and true heirs to the kingdom, they believe the current royal family have stopped seeking and rule by mortal means of power"

" they seek the way to the divine spark" she said with fear, " and for it all can be done, and by all i mean.. everything... hu, human experiments" she said with discomfort

" many children disappear around the kingdom and most of them are taken by the seekers who use them as test subjects" she paused for a moment

" one of them escaped a little girl that crawled with her back towards the ground and her face towards the sky, her back arched to reach the ground" i could her the fear in her voice " no one knows what was done to her but what ever they did, what ever they tried to create definitely was no longer human, the girl moved with her back arched and crawling like some creature, she caused many deaths

the tragedy she brought is known as the death of hallows, many died by strange means, it is guessed that the girl sucked their souls out leaving their bodies hollow, it was a freighting scene, they had created a monster an abomination , anyone who died to it had their souls gon.." she decided to not talk about them any more.

Max was chilled by the strange turn of the topic, he didn't know why they started talking about the seekers. It made him ignore the towering wall they had now reached, on the wall was a gate with a big door, almost as if designed for giants and within this door there was a much small door that was opened.

lots of people formed a line as they slowly entered max had made his way to the front of the carriage by the time they got close to the gate.

soon it was their turn to enter but before they did a guard who looked mighty with armor and a spear, the spear was sharp and chilling and looked heavy on sight, it was no ordinary spear. his armor was dressed up to his upper body leaving his stern face visible and on his shoulder a cloth with a badge that said ´zen´ was shown.

"sayama residence" max spoke to him before he asked showing a special token, the guard look at the token then at him and the carriage for a moment before allowing them to enter.

as soon as they entered max instantly bared witness to the greatness of man, such grand building, delicate in design, this city was built so beautifully, the building stretched on infinitely, the paved roads leading to hundreds of locations.

max had never seen such a big city before the spark, even with out skyscrapers to tower over you the city itself just felt big and grandiose.

" welcome to Athenia, the city of knowledge " ai sayama said as she observed the shock on my face.

as shocked as i was we had no time to explore the city as every moment ai sayama stayed from the residents the more unstable her position in the clan become.

soon the carriage traveled to the sayama residence, it was not as grand as he expected but it still looks impressive, after entering they made their way to her court yard before the two got off the carriage and walked into the court yard. as ai sayama walked in front max somehow felt as she had an extra sway in her hips tempting him.
